It’s a normal chain. Decent coffee perfect for a little pick me up. This one is often over crowded because the location. Also, order the Americano for a big boost of energy. Do not order this last 2. Seriously, you’ve been warned.

These chairs and tables are terrible, good one to take out, sitting there for studying is probably the worst idea, parking is so hard to find around. I usually like to read and work on some projects at Starbucks but this is not the the best place.

I typically only get Starbucks when I travel, but I woke up on Friday morning to a broken coffee maker(worst morning ever!). The coffee at work tastes more like water to me than coffee, so stopping at Starbucks was really the only option. This Starbucks is on the smaller side, but it did seem like a nice space to sit and do work early in the morning. There were a few long tables with a scattering of students busy studying. I got here at about 7:15, and the place was relatively empty. By the time I left, about 25 min later, business was definitely picking up. For a Starbucks, I thought it was really good — service was fast and efficient and our drinks came out exactly as we asked(yes, I am one of those convoluted drink people that every barista internally cringes at). They really knew what they were doing. While I wouldn’t make stopping here an every day thing, I did enjoy sitting with my morning coffee and people watching on Marshall St. I will now likely stop in occasionally for a morning treat.

As a Starbucks this is below their par overall. The service was o.k., as they got the food order half wrong, but did manage to get the drink order right, so in total, eh, not impressed. I get that its a mini-store, [small square footage and less seating that most locations, but still clean and decently lit(like for reading)] and exists really just trying to grab some business from this corner of the campus, [lots of commuters and near the arena, but not being able to redeem your Star rewards is B.S.

This starbucks location is conveniently located on the SU hill, Its proximity to SU, Crouse Hospital, and Upstate Hospital make it convenient for almost anyone to get their daily caffeine fix. However, since it is so convenient, EVERYONE goes there. There is always a line that is seemingly endless, and rarely ever an open table. The staff is as kind as they can be considering the mass of people that frequent this location. Also, the milk bar is usually a mess. It often resembles what I imagine what Rome looked like after it was sacked by the Visigoths.

Overall it is pretty good. There were some issues, like it being busy with a long line and small place, but all of these issues seem out of their control. I’m not sure why do you have the reviews are complaining about things the staff have no control over. For the things that are in their control they do very well. The staff is friendly and very quick, the drinks are made well, and there’s an overall energetic atmosphere.

The distance from classes to coffee is amazing. I really appreciate the service and placement of this Starbucks.

Pretty standard Starbucks but lame customer service on the Sunday evening I came by. I know there’s no fresh coffee brewed after 5. But these girls copped such an attitude when I asked for a pour over. Then they had to talk amongst themselves to figure out how to do it. Really?!

Great customer service with friendly staff. Very busy but very efficient. The employees are constantly running around keeping busy. You never see any of them just standing there. Also they all share friendly smiles!

A nice location with speedy service. Usually very crowded with students and professors. You may not get a table to sit. But convenient for to-go. The line will go usually very fast.

Dark and gloomy. That what I have to say about this location. The girl at the register was not approachable at all and the Barista looked like she was upset at the world. A smile goes a long way in today’s world so practice makes perfect. Maybe reading this comment will give it a kick start.

Good drinks, fresh food and unfriendly baristas. Geez, a smile, a good morning would be nice to make the whole experience a little better. While there were open tables on a Sunday morning, some were dirty and in disarray. We had to move tables and chair around so that people wouldn’t bump into us. This location is dark and kind of gloomy. The music didn’t help. I understand how busy the baristas could get but don’t get too busy that you forget to live. Smile. We will continue to visit while in the area. To go, please.

A perfectly fine Starbucks. 3 ½ stars. I was a visitor to Syracuse University and was happy to find one nearby. There are two issues you need to know about. The first issue is a big deal. There’s panhandling and people of, let’s just say, «ill-repute» covering Marshall Street. The is difference from the Starbucks I’ve visited at other universities, where the stores are typically comfortable and safe. The other issue is not so big a deal, but, there aren’t a lot of open tables. If you get one, you’ll most likely be sitting right next to someone else. In my case it was a very loud theater major. She had many opinions about pop culture and probably religiously watches the show Glee. The staff so far has been very nice and make me want to bump this review up to a fourth star, but you know me. Wait, no you don’t. –RC

I love Starbucks, but due to the crazy lines that this place always has I have to give it 1 star. They need more space and more people.

This is the only Starbucks on campus, so either become a fan of Dunkin’ Donuts or learn the Syracuse class schedules. Otherwise, you’ll be waiting on line for a bit. But the baristas are fast and friendly — so the wait only seems long because you’re in a rush.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why you would introduce Starbucks onto a college campus, yet have it in such a confined space. This particular location is way too small for the daily demand and traffic that it receives. I always see folks sitting at the tiny tables, but I don’t know how you could get any work done considering the noise level and proximity of the tables to each other. I suppose if you come prepared with headphones and only need to put a laptop or a book on the table, then you might be able to make it work. That being said, the staff is courteous and swift in getting you your order. The coffee is predictable Starbucks quality(whatever that means to you), so it gets the job done. To date, I’ve only been in the store during the summer when all the undergrads are gone. I shudder to think what it will be like once they return to campus.

It’s a Starbucks… But it’s a good Starbucks. Although my review is based in summer use so I can’t attest to its quality during the academic year…

This Stabucks is a stress fest. Always crowded, never a place to sit, long lines, perpetually wet floors from snow being tracked in, and the minute you step foot outside for a little respite you get haggled for change. The whole place is like a microcosm of Syracuse itself – unpleasant, depressing, cold.

It’s an Ok Starbucks, nothing to special. I wish it was a little bigger to accommodate the high traffic of college students that come through here. It’s a quick and easy Starbucks though, go through the line and out, and get your drink, there is no comfy chairs, and the quite starbucks atmosphere is definitely not here.
