Totally love this place! So much fun! Huge inviting and great beer. Will probably be the staple of Syracuse in no time !

The manager Ryan Powers is very unprofessional. We planned a gathering of about 15 – 20 people for a birthday celebration and we planned on going to this establishment because of their advertisement that says the birthday guest of honor gets a free boot of beer. All 20 of us were there and asked Ryan about the boot for the guest of honor and he said«nope, can’t help you his birthday was yesterday». We explained to Ryan that people came in from out of town and we were all looking forward to hanging out all night if the guest of honor could get the free beer boot. Ryan the says«absolutely not, nope, you can stay or leave I don’t really care, I get 12 groups of people like you a night». We were all taken back by the pompous attitude and rudeness by the manager. Its a shame because they lost a lot of business because of his attitude. We are all adults and understand rules are rules but the approach of the manager was shocking. Syracuse doesn’t need businessmen like that here.

Love this place. Syracuse needs this. Great German beer selection. Try the Dunkel. Need to add more food other than free peanuts, Hoffmens hot dogs, pretzels.

Great beer, especially if you want to discover something you’ve(probably) never heard of. Bartenders are very friendly and attentive, and they do a great job managing the bar line when it gets busy. I just wish they took cards and had a larger selection of food, but I will admit the pretzels and hot dogs are good! Again bring cash, there is an ATM nearby but who wants to order a beer and then realize you need to LEAVETHEBAR to get cash. Not this guy.

Great beer selection. Shelled peanuts. Hot dogs and hot pretzels. Go check it out. You won’t regret it.

Great place to meet people and eat peanuts. Beers about $ 8 nice selection but no Guiness. Drink Murphy’s instead. Check out the bar on the end by the door for the wasabi peas. No seats available at the bar so I thought it would be hard to get the bartends help but not true. Service was quick. They do not take credit. Bring cash and enjoy!

This is now one of my favorite bars in Syracuse! I had a 2 liter of franzeskaner, which is a German beer. During your birthday you get a free boot of beer, with only your ID and a deposit. They serve mostly beers and some whisky/bourbon. There are peanut shells littered around the floor and a warm homey atmosphere. The picnic tables and antler-chandeliers give the bar a woodsy kind of feel. Very busy on the weekends.

Awesome spot in downtown Cuse! Bring your brothers sisters, cousins and uncles/aunts! Good atmosphere for any age of drinker. GREAT German beer selection for light, dark, hoppy, you name it. Family style seating with free peanuts! Ate my body weight in peanuts and drank it in beer! Great price on all sizes of beer! While I was there they had great music playing and lots of fun people around! Definitely check it out when you’re around, even if you’re not near down town, it’ll be worth the drive. Cheers!

I love the atmosphere of this place! It feels like you are outside. They have a variety of beers you can’t get at other places, but be sure to bring cash! They have two dogs walking around and peanuts everywhere– totally my style, but be careful if you have allergies. The dartboard in the back is nice, but poorly located.

This place is GREAT. I went the last two fridays for happy hour(and soccer) with friends to celebrate(and reminisce) and couldn’t have been more satisfied– we all had a great time. The Biergarten itself is an old firehouse and has a lot of character. It offers ample seating, big tables, flowing pints, and delicious complimentary peanuts(that are consistently refilled). Without soccer on the screens it was very easy to move around, and although it was busy, service was prompt and helpful in selecting. With soccer on, it was a bit more difficult to move around the bar(but people were pretty cordial still), and service was still prompt. Overall, we all enjoyed the giant flowing pints(one of us enjoyed the birthday boot!) and atmosphere. As another reviewer said bring cash. And if you don’t like peanuts, or hoffman hotdogs, eat beforehand.

This is a HUGE addition to my hometown! It has great ambiance and the communal tables encourage mingling. It will be the premier soccer bar watching destination in Syracuse. I met several other supporters who follow clubs different than mine, and it was an extremely fun atmosphere. They also have several German beers that are not easily available in Syracuse. And throw the peanut shells on the floor. They don’t care! This place has been operating as a cash-only bar in Albany for years. I like the concept… it’s one of the good olé American places of the future that accepts only cash!

Da Best. THIS is your soccer(football, futbol) bar. Around 8 screens, 12 German beers on tap, Hoffman hotdogs, prezels, peanuts. Picnic tables. Flags on the ceiling. Their website publishes a schedule of FIXTURES that they will be showing. Ambience reminds me of a 150 year old Irish Bar in Boston’s War Zone that a native took me to. Guys, this is the real deal. Go here. I just had my mail forwarded to this place.

Bring cash! Great atmosphere, great beer selection. Unfortunately this place doesn’t take cards! And they didn’t let us know until the beers were poured, which is super awkward. How does any business not take cards? Especially in an alcohol fueled atmosphere where I am far more liberal spending opening a tab and closing it out when I’m done rather than dealing with cash. This place could also really use some cocktail servers. Bar lines are very deep and take forever.

This is a soccer-oriented sports bar just outside of Armory, situated in an early 20th century firehall next to the Courier Building and City Hall. European beers on the menu offer a nice alternative to Syracuse’s numerous other craft beer halls(Clark’s, Blue Tusk, Empire, WOB, etc.). On my first visit I sampled the Bitburger Pils and the Warsteiner Dunkel, both wonderful. Not much by way of a food menu(yet), but free peanuts to shell on the floor and a free Hoffman hot dog with the purchase of a liter-size beer(about $ 11 – 12). Tons of TVs & the barkeeps were not shy about changing the channel for us when we wanted to watch a hockey game. Service was extremely quick too, despite it being an insanely busy Saturday night — their first, too. I got the impression that not only do these folks know what they’re doing(this is their 3rd location), but they aren’t so attached to their shtick that they ignore their customers. Looking forward to being a regular here.
