Ok So i don’t agree at all with the review for this place!!!(I think it was written by someone from the Asylum cause they are crazy) first off the price for the Asylum is $ 13 dollars which I sooo don’t mind paying cause lets face it Halloween only comes around once a year but not for what we got. Mind you getting into the Asylum took us 3 hour wait in line!!! Which made me think either its really good or a lot of people are getting ripped off… I think I got ripped off!!! The actors where good don’t get me wrong this is a great haunted house for kids and I’m glad its donating to benefit the Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma but the Hospital got to involved with the Asylum and wouldn’t let the people running the haunted asylum do there jobs, not only did they make them take out all the bloody effects but the actors couldn’t be as scary so it could be kid friendly(I saw mostly adults going in and I didn’t see any kids under 14) Which makes me think«what was the point of making it less scary» a lot of the rooms we walked threw we just empty rooms with scary Halloween decorations in them(boring) but I will say this the actors are pretty good the guy I talked to after we went said they plan on doing an 18 and older asylum up stairs next year for the more daring adults(lets hope that they do so maybe next year I can be scared a little more and yawn a little less) Good job to all the actors you did a crazy good job for what you could do and every thing looked neat sorry you all got held back I know it could have been so much more frightfully fun!!! Good Luck Next year!!!

Black Lake Asylum is located in the bowels of Freight Square in a questionable part of Tacoma; the perfect setting for an asylum where unspeakable procedures were carried out. Yep, I’m in! Entrance to the asylum is granted by twin(?) patients after the usual rules are explained; with these two reappearing throughout the asylum. A closed room produces a surprise exit, and then a brief glimpse of the dreaded Dr. West is seen. As we walked through the haunt it was as if we were walking through a wonderfully evil art gallery. Walls had intricate black-light paintings of tremendous depth. It’s nice to see that certain things you see or don’t see in one part of the haunt are carried through to another part making for an overall much tighter experience rather than just a series of disjointed vignettes. This year’s event is much longer than previous and included several«items» to catch. Be sure to talk to Mrs. West’s ghost for a personal experience with the departed, look out front for«Fluffy», Crazy Karen in the ward and beware the giggling evil clown! This asylum is perfect for younger victims while still offering the scares & startles for the rest of us.
