I came to Tacoma for milk tea at this place called Café Amasia. I had their milk tea before and it was very good. But today they closed. So I came to Bubbles. I ordered honey dew flavor. It was made of powder, which could be fine. But it was pretty bad. It had a weird sour flavor. It didn’t taste like milk tea at all. I had a few sips and I wasn’t feeling good in my stomach. Had to toss it in the end.

This is the second best bubble tea place I’ve found in Washington. It was really good. We had excellent service and our drinks tasted high quality and fresh. The tapioca was cooked to perfection. The only down side was it was cold in there so I didn’t want to stick around. Also we asked for double tapioca and we were disappointed by how little we got.

Seems to be the only legit bubble tea place around here. Lots in Seattle but hard to find legitimate boba south of Seattle. Many of the phở restaurants have bubble tea but. It’s not real bubble tea. Usually powder. By ‘real’ i mean Taiwanese style bubble TEA. Not powder! Bubbles has real bubble tea. I love their jasmine or Rose milk tea with the pudding/custard(??!). Their fruit slush are also good. It doesbt compare to those in Seattle but it’s decent.

Good boba! I had the black tea with peach and tapioca. Super yummy and they don’t skimp on tapioca balls. The place is clean and staff is really nice.

Taste and texture are off. Bubbles were a little bit undercooked so the centers were a touch hard. Flavors aren’t up to par compared to the boba in Seattle — the drink just tasted off. This is based on a group order of 3 drinks — 2 milk teas and 1 smoothie. No one liked theirs. However the place is clean and cute and the service was very friendly. Not a place I would go again but may be good for Tacoma.

My friend and I came in here after going to the Washington History Museum. She wanted to treat her kids for being… somewhat civil… in the museum. I will say first of that even though the place is sparsely decorated, it’s still a generally cool vibe for a place that just has bubble tea, hot teas, small snacks and smoothies. Just your basic Ikea furniture and a few lanterns to give off a lounge type feel. The walls are very bare and are crying for a large wall mural or design or painting to fill in the white space. There are chairs by the open window that allows one to look outside onto the streets of Tacoma or at the traffic. Too bad there isn’t a better view. I could see coming here on a raining day though and just chilling with a bubble tea and doing some homework or jotting down some lines for your upcoming novel or something. Anyway, the cashier is really nice and will strike up conversation with you. I ordered a large green apple bubble tea with rainbow jellies and a small strawberry bubble tea with strawberry boba. I’ll start with the strawberry one. The bubble tea flavor was ok but a little weak. The strawberry boba were not for me… at all. They were like the boba that you put on froyo. I was expecting the regular chewy tapioca boba but only strawberry flavored. These strawberry ones weren’t chewy. They kind of just burst in your mouth which is an odd sensation. The green apple bubble tea though was very good and the mixed jellies had a lot of individual flavor. You could actually taste which ones were mango or coconut or papaya or whatever. My friend got a lychee green tea and as her eyes rolled back in her head possibly from orgasm, I knew it was good. This place is kind of simple and I guess it’s hard to do anything with just bubble teas but it’s nice to have a place like this in the heart of Tacoma. Hope it lasts.

Very cute place. The lady working was very friendly. She made me my ‘coconut and taro ’ slush and talked about other creations that customers makes, meaning the place is accommodating to their customers wants. That’s a good thing! My drink was delicious as always and will be returning!
