Makes me sad to write a bad review. USED to love this place! Went in *sat night* recently and I’m not sure what has happened. The place is a mess. Trying to turn it into a classic mixed drink bar? First it was cash only, which I can understand issues with card machines but then once we were finally greated at our seats we were literally told we wouldn’t be getting a wine menu — what?! We were told it’s because they were going through and making changes… um okkk… then when we asked about wine selection our waiter had NO idea what they had. I’m sorry but you should at least know your selection if you’re not going to offer customers a menu. Then we were told they were out of almost anything we wanted also being told they were out of pesto if we wanted to order food. Really. Finally drinks came — I have never tasted a long island ice tea that was purely colored water. What a disappointment and it was less than an 8oz glass and was about $ 8.00! They were attempting to be friendly but I’m really saddened by the change that has occurred here.

Mildly frustrated with Cork. This used to be the go to for our school happy hour. But recently it’s been more difficult to get in… I get it. It’s an hour before your normal opening, you’re doing us a favor, you have to justify it, ect. Totally understand and I’m not bashing. Frustrating though because these school happy hours are literally the only time I’ve been to Cork. Recently, I had a friend who tried to attend. I’d told her long ago that we met at Cork on Fridays at 2 and to come join us if she ever could. Well. She tried. But we’d had to move venues because we didn’t have enough people rsvp. She didn’t know, I didn’t know. Not a big deal, but frustrating all the same.

This was the worst! They were literally out of HALF of the by-the-glass menu. I had such high hopes! Then, the wines they DID manage to hunt down and pull the air pump off the top were old. Out of our flight of six between us, three were sent back. The waitress admitted that they had been«open for a few days» which I cannot imagine HOW. How do you have less than half the menu AND that doesn’t force the bottles to go faster? I didn’t try the food, although the man at the table next to me outside ordered a custom Chorizo flatbread. He left over 75 percent of it. He described it was«oily and over-seasoned». It was covered in so much chorizo, the fat was oozing down the sides. They should be embarrassed.

If there’s such thing as a dive wine bar, Cork has earned the title. Their business strategy seems to be built upon an aesthetically pleasing bar run by idiots. It truly is a colossal disappointment. My girlfriend and I overheard a patron requesting a recommendation based upon his taste for Pinot Grigio. A wine bar should be able to work with that kind of information, but the waiter claimed to have never heard of Pinot Grigio. We waited another 5 minutes for menus and our dirty table to be bussed, which was enough to cause us to take our business elsewhere. If Cork were to invest in a staff who knew something about the beverage stated in the bar’s name, they could really have a great place.

Great atmosphere and wine. The service was so-so. They were out of a few wines we wanted to try. The blonde waitress couldn’t pronounce the wines she was giving us. If you work at a wine place, isn’t that kind of important?

The food was really good– so giving two stars. The service was HORRIBLE. They were out of wines that we wanted and then kept trying to sell us random glasses from half finished bottles … Then the check came — and it was divided three ways(didn’t ask for that) but all the wine on one ticket and food split between the others … Odd The flatbread was great — the cured meat great– the servers seemed high

So sad to write this as I have been before and it was a pleasant visit, but we went on Saturday evening and it was so bad that it was confusing! Food missing ingredients, wrong food item brought out, out of beverages we wished to order, unprofessional attire and demeanor from the servers, flat out ignored by staff when asking for service, at least one persons tab clearing their bank account incorrectly. We were nice to the employees when we mentioned that there were errors in the food. We were told it would be addressed and, after a few moments in the back, the employee we spoke with stormed out from the kitchen and left. It was just the strangest experience! I am wondering if ownership changed or what, because I have NEVER heard or experienced anything like this there, or anywhere else for that matter.

Worst service I think I’ve ever had! The blonde waitress was asleep in a comfy chair and I haited to disturb her but we needed to order! We had some great wine even though they never brought our last order. I think the staff should be working at 7 – 11 selling slurpees. She couldn’t even pronounce the wine she was serving me! It made for some great entertainment though!

I can’t do zero, so this will get one star. We decided to go to Cork today. We are in town visiting family and picked Cork based on its walkabilty, hours and menu. It was about a mile walk each way. We got there at 3, the opening time posted on their website and Facebook. The doors were open, and we noted on the door that they opened at 3. A man stopped us and said«I’m doing an interview, we don’t open until 4.» we pointed out the hours on the door and the website, he shrugged and said we have to change that, so we left. We decided to go back at 4. Still closed. But now there was a post it that read 4. Doors locked. We stood around for 5 — 10 minutes, and someone got out of her car and said we won’t be opening for awhile, the owner left. «She told us worked there. So here she was, losing out on tips, waiting in her car. HORRIBLEMANAGEMENT. Seriously I don’t know how this place stays in business, and I doubt they will for long.

I was so excited to bring my best friends here. They get here before us and wow! They had no wine??? No jack Daniels … No beer? They didn’t have anything to offer? I’m so bewildered and can’t say I would recommend it!

Great atmosphere, very personable servers. Had the mushrooms and 4 meat and cheese. Be sure to ask the servers what they actually have, they were out of several menu items. That said, great experience, good food and will return when I’m in the area!

Great atmosphere. Warm, dark wood, calm, sophisticated. I was initially hesitant to go because I thought it was just a wine bar. After all it’s called«Cork a Wine Bar.» But they also have strong tasty cocktails, a full bar, and the best happy hour value I’ve found so far in tacoma. I will happily return as soon as I am able.

Great place. Nice atmosphere. They know their wines. Food is good. No complaints whatsoever. Recently I read in the News Tribune that they are even prepared to protect their patrons from outside assaults. Good for them!

I was there for wine and dessert – the chocolate mousse cake was very good. They have both wine($ 11) and whiskey($ 20+) flights. The happy hour is all day Friday with $ 5 flatbreads, selected cocktails, and house wine. A few tables are available on the patio. A nice place to go if you’re in the neighborhood.

This is a great neighborhood destination. The wine selection was fairly expansive. I had a flight of wine and flatbread. I tried to find the Whispering something or other Syrah in my home state but it was not to be… We enjoyed sitting outside on a lovely day, sipping away. Read other reviewers regarding the service; Ours was fine.
