This was the first time I have visited this café. The concept was great, sip on drinks, socialize with parents, and all while your child can play. Unfortunately, when we got inside of the play area it was dirty, toys were everwhere, not sure if it was dried throw up or apple sauce on the floor, and a dirty seating area for the parents. I also observed a broken trampoline that several kids where jumping on, caved in middle due to broken springs and a torn net. When I received my drink it was a long time from when I had originally ordered. The server said she was busy. The coffee was gross because it was bitter. It also was on the warm to colder side of the temperature. I was hoping that since the fee for playing was on the higher end, the quality of the facility would have mirrored; however, it did not. I have read various reviews that seem to echo the same opinion. I believe the place has the potential to be great but I am not sure if I will return in hopes that they will change. There are other places that keep a safe and clean environment but just are a longer drive to get to.

I’m so sad to have to give this place a two star. I almost want to give it a reluctant 3 star because my children do enjoy coming here. However, after today I don’t think I’ll be making the drive from Federal way over here any time soon. I’ve been coming to Frog and Kiwi for the last 3 years. Since I do live somewhat far now, we only make it here once a month or so. The last time I came here was several months ago. Anyway, let’s start with the good: 1.) closed indoor play space. 2.) friendly barista. 3.) a large variety of toys & play structures. Now for the BAD: 1.) The place was very dirty. The play seating area was a disaster. Water spills all over the place, looks as if no one had swept that day. The trash was full to the top and smelled BAD. Tables still had left over food on them from previous patrons. 2.) The water/counter space had straws spilled everywhere and no paper towels just napkins. Not to mention the water had no ice in it or anything and was less than half full. 3.) Now this one I think was the WORST part: I guess they have a new single person mini trampoline with a net. My 1 year old son went into it and the whole thing was sinking in the middle. I examined it and there were 4 hooks hanging from the back, a kid could have easily gotten stuck within the cracks! Not to mention the front zipper door was hanging off the front side of the net, it was a huge safety concern for me. It looked as if a child could have easily been caught or strangled while climbing down. There are a LOT of signs on the trampoline but the kids can’t read, & most of the parents aren’t parenting, that thing needs to go! At the end of the day I can let go of most of the things I mentioned, I’ll be back eventually with my sons since they do love playing here. I just hope these things will be addressed.

Love this place when the kiddos want to play and mom wants time to chat And meet with her girls! Great customer service, yummy treats, good coffee! My kids love it(2&5 yr olds) and I love it! They come and hang out while mom hangs out. perfect match! Many things to keep them busy. Clean, fun for kids and moms, Delish. A must go! We will keep coming back!

This is a great place to take your toddler especially on a rainy day. Most of the toys are safe for them to play with(besides the big kid toys). Coffee is not really good and not much food selection. Play pass is steep $ 7. Especially when your child only wants to play for 20 minutes. The toys are a bit outdated and destroyed. I don’t think they should charge so much or anything at all.

We haven’t tried any product from café, so this review is only based on the play ground… Very clean place for kids to play around. I give 4 stars only because I have 2&4 year old kids and feels like my 4 year is a bit too old for this place. I think this is the perfect place for moms to meet and mingle with others with kids. Lots of small tots toys, slide, doll house, trampoline etc. If you live close and have small children who have lots of energy, this would be a great place to let them have fun :)

Very friendly staff and great coffee. Cozy especially on cold, wet days. Location by the library is nice.

Met my girlfriend here along with my almost 2 year old son. We had a great time. He loved playing with the other kids and a great selection of toys for all ages. Great safe place to meet a girlfriend for coffee with your little ones. Definitely will be back!

The coffee was good, the staff was friendly, and my daughter had a lot of fun. The play area is a bit pricey for what it is, but it would be a good place for parents to meet up for lunch while their kids played and you planned on staying a while. We will be back!

They have a lot of non dairy options. Coffee is better than starbucks but that’s all I can really say. They play area is why I enjoy it even though $ 7 is a bit pricey for what it is odyssey 1 is cheaper. This is a great place for toddlers.

Ordered the dark chocolate pretzel frappé and it was delicious! My toddler loved playing in the play area. $ 7 is a little pricey for her just to play. One suggestion might be if customer bought $ 15 worth of stuff your child can play free. The seating area is a bit cramped. Overall, the coffee was amazing and my toddler had a blast. We’ll be back for sure!

I went and ordered a strawberry chocolate mocha. It was on special. Service was great. But the coffee wasn’t great but it also wasn’t terrible… I probably will not go back I felt like it was a wAste of money. They do have a play area that you can pay for your children under 6 to play while you drink coffee and chat with your friends. Also had gelato but it wasn’t fresh.

2 year old LOVED they play area… I loved that the doors closed and locked and there was bathroom access from inside the play area… Enough room for the 15+ kids that were there, to play around, and with, each other very comfortably… Toys were big-no chocking(the kitchen/grocery toys were not out when we went!) hazards… Nothing to really chew on, looked clean, and as safe as you can expect. Thin pads littered the floor where kids might fall. Went for a birthday party. So I didn’t pay to get in… To be honest, I don’t feel any thing more than a couple of bucks should be charged, if any thing at all… To play, as a paying customer, in ordinary use… If you are an ‘extremely tentative’ parent, this may not be the most relaxing time for you… A couple of high-ish(4ft+) slides/climbing dealios that may make you nervous to leave your kid’s side… I tried no food or drink while there… Wouldn’t necessarily suggest for kids over 5, options are limited for them and they may bore quickly… But great for the lil ones! Have since had food and coffee. Coffee isn’t bad, food isn’t fantastic. The last time I went, my daughter needed a diaper change literally 10 minutes after going into the play place. I believe I remember reading online it says you have three hours to play, the young lady explained to me if I left for more than 20 minutes, I would have to pay again… I didn’t have pull-ups on me(how very foolish, I know!) but really? You have a play area and don’t understand crap(pun intended) happens?!? So what is it… Am I paying for three hours or am I paying for the time I am there, regardless of how teeny tiny that time may be? Every time I go, I am more and more disappointed with the place. Dropped it two three stars after today’s short visit…

Love the idea and the space, but their food/coffee is not great and the employees seem annoyed. It is closed randomly and often booked out for parties no way to know any of this until you get there. Very annoying.

I have been going to Frog n Kiwi for the last 2 years, and it’s just ok. I mostly go because there are precious few indoor play options in the area. I really want to love it, but the play area has pretty much stayed the exact same in all that time, and also feels less clean than it used to. The café side and play area side share ONE bathroom. With the number of pregnant moms, babies in diapers who need changes, and potty training kids who frequent the place, this is a HUGE problem. Ever tell a potty training 2 year old to hold it? Also, I haven’t once had a decent cup of coffee there– every latte is lukewarm milk with a slight coffee flavor, and every americano is coffee-flavored water. Sometimes, it’s also just arbitrarily closed during regular business hours. I know it can be better, I wish they would make some positive changes.

Ask my wife and I and this is «our place». We walk in and Nikole is always smiling and happy. The atmosphere is great. Their rewards plan is really cool too! Prices are reasonable. Great place to hang out with a friend or two and catch up.

Update: I now have a 2.5 year old and an 8 month old. The place is ALWAYS a mess, including food rubbish everywhere! My 2.5 year old is severely allergic to dairy, eggs and peanuts so when I see a messy food service area I get my hackles up. They cleaned up the broken toys, which is great, and my little guys has fun, but honestly? Now that my punch card($ 5 ea visit) is used up, I probably won’t come in any time soon. The staff is nice, but slooooooow, it’s too messy and too expensive. There are never enough places for adults to sit: I had to sit on the floor to nurse which was awkward with 3 year olds running past me! I think the owners are super nice, and always polite and helpful.

After reading the reviews, I had my reservations about the place. I was initially disappointed because I called the place 4 different times and sent a FB message inquiring about their hours/pricing. No one picked up and I have yet to receive a response. With great trepidation, we decided to check it out. We arrived to see a very bright café with a lot more seating than I was anticipating. The gentleman working that day was friendly and patient(he must have been able to tell that it was our first visit). I ordered a coffee and an orange cinnamon roll(warmed) — both were quite yummy. I appreciated that they had healthy snacks too. My 3 year old son enjoyed a bag(large one, I might add) of apple slices. They were too tart for me but my son scarfed them down. I filled out the waiver on-line via their FB page so checking into their play area next door was a breeze. I couldn’t even hear that there were children next door. We enjoyed our snack and went inside to play. I appreciate their rule of no shoes when playing. What I didn’t appreciate is the neglect that other Moms in the room had for not obeying the rules. None of the kids had shoes on but the parents didn’t obey the rules. THAT is annoying. No shoes means no shoes — take off your complex footwear and comply. The play area is a pretty good size. There are things for young infants up to older toddlers. My son is 3.75 years old and he had fun. There was a climbing structure, cars, trucks, lemonade stands, slides, etc — there were probably about 7 other kids there too. There is one bathroom requiring a code and it’s nice that they have a restroom facility accessible by the café or the play area. Tuesday and Thursdays after 2 p.m. will cost a child $ 2.00 to play. I understand from their billboard that the price is normally $ 6.99. To me, the $ 6.99 cost is too much and not worth it when there are other facilities that might be cheaper. The area is great but it’s still smaller than other indoor play areas. They do have a punch card but the $ 2.00 is a reasonable price and I would come back on a reduced day/time. The gentleman was kind and inquired how we enjoyed our food when I went to bus my table. I gave some feedback about something I witnessed in the play area and he seemed receptive to it. This location is a bit of a drive for me and my son but on a rainy day — it will definitely be in our rolodex.

This place is awesome. Seriously. With the cruddy winter weather in full blast now, this is a wonderful place to take my active 20 month old son. They have a small selection of food and treats, but no, this is not a restaurant. It is first and foremost a coffee shop. And yes, you have to pay to let your kid play, but it’s really not that more expensive then taking them to the zoo or the children’s museum. If you get a pass, it’s a great deal. I am very very grateful that a place like this exists, somewhere he can play and I can get a bit of a break.

It is a cute coffee and tea shop. It is in the same building as the library in UP. Their coffee and tea is pleasant and they have a decent selection of snacks. The added bonus is the play room for the kids. How many other coffee shops around town have a place for the kids to play while the grownups enjoy their coffee or tea? Sure you have to pay to let your kids play there, they have to pay rent on their space. The area for the kids is huge. There is a nice sitting area for the adults with tables. My kids have such a good time when it is raining out and I want to enjoy a cup of coffee after leaving the library. What a great idea.
