I really was blown away by seeing that this place had a two star over all review. I have been coming to this location for years, and also frequented the same branch when it was at the other location in this plaza and I’ve never had anything but good service from the staff. Can it be slower when it’s busy, yes of course but it is by no means a delay to wait thirty more seconds for a coffee. The staff usually is on top of things when the sun is in your eyes and will lower the shades. I come in to do work on my laptop most of the time, so I rely on their Wi-Fi. I have yet to have a problem with connecting on my phone or either of my laptops that I bring in to work on. The only thing that is preventing me from leaving a five star review is the other people that sometimes come in. Being the closest Starbucks to the local middle schools and high schools at 2PM the place is flooded with high school kids followed by a flooding of middle school kids at 3:15. They usually are not too rowdy however they can be loud and somewhat inconsiderate. Of course I do not expect the staff to ask another customer to leave as that is ridiculous, still I wish the seating area could be a little bigger or have a wall to sort of escape the loudness that comes in on most weekdays. All that being said there is still a good amount of seating at this location most of which are less than a yard away from a power outlet so if you need to charge a device you are able to virtually wherever you sit. If you are not into sitting there is a convenient drive-through with a long run up so the parking lot does not get congested.

Usually good service from the staff, although I agree it can be slow and inconsistent. However, my major complaint is that this Starbucks has the absolute worse acoustics that I have ever experienced, and I have been in hundreds of Starbucks throughout the country. The noise is unbearable, even when lightly populated. Don’t try to have a conversation or do work here. If it is a nice day, then you can sit outside and avoid the roar of noise.

It’s a Starbucks, but they all are clearly not the same. I first laughed at seeing all the low rates reviews, but everyone was right. They are so slow! I ordered an ice tea. There were 2 people ahead of me in line. I went to the bathroom, came back and still waited a few more minutes until my drink was up. I have no clue why it was so slow, but my drink was made right.

I travel for work so I visit about 5 – 10 different Starbucks every week. This location is closest to my house and it disappoints me to no end. As I mother reviews say, this is the slowest Starbucks ever even though they always look to have plenty of people working. The issue is, no one works with any sort of urgency. The girl who I think is the manager is the absolute worst. She will stop working when there’s a line of people and go on break, only to get in line herself. It once took 5 minutes to get green tea. That seems like a snotty statement but it’s a tea bag in hot water. Honestly. Do yourself a favor — drive an extra 5 minutes to 27th and Bridgeport, or go in the Safeway — even they are better than this. I’m filing my complaint with Starbucks, too.

This Starbucks is SO slow! It’s convenient because it’s near my daughters school, but I don’t know why I bother. Every single time I come I’m disappointed. Their DM need to plan a visit and stay for a few days to ensure positive improvement.

I love this new Starbucks in UP. Way spacious than the old location. I always come here to grab coffee and study with my friends! I like how there are a lot of places to sit unlike the old location.

Not a fan of this location. Service is painfully slow, and the staff is lazy. Burnt coffee, or brown limes anyone? If you’re into that, then this is definitely the place for you.

It never fails — -I have always received horrible service and wrong drinks at this Starbucks. I have a huge affinity for Starbucks and am very loyal to the coffee brand. I have about had it though after giving it chance after chance after chance. My drink is ALWAYS made wrong, I ask them to remake and it never fails that I get a horrible attitude in return and then a super syrupy drink as punishment. I know, I know… it’s JUST coffee… but the truth is I pay $ 5 for the cup of joe and deserve to get exactly what I want and made with a smile. I’ve called the manager, I’ve called the regional manager(no call back), I’ve called corporate and all the did was say they were giving me a free drink on my card — it never showed up — -and that wasn’t the reason for my complaint. I just want better customer service and my drink made correctly(PS: it’s not a ridiculously hard drink to make… I swear!). I guess the only way they will start to pay attention is if people stopped going. But alas, I’m only one person and my guess is the baristas really won’t mind if I never came again.

I love Starbucks coffee. I live right by this location. The ‘new’ location must have ‘new’ baristas, because my coffee never tastes right, or what it normally does from other Starbucks locations. I got a triple grande white mocha, and the barista didn’t bother to mix it at all… all of the white chocolate was on the bottom, and the esspresso was on top. It was disgusting. Normally, I am not one to complain, but this isn’t the first time that my coffee hasn’t tasted right from this location. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless over time the newer workers gain more experience.

Not quite there. So this new location has been open a while and it still can take more than 5 – 10 minutes to get a drink in the lobby. Line gets LONG, It confounds me why ALL Starbucks locations have two registers yet only one is EVER used. Howard? This isn’t isolated to this location. Of the 8 or 10 I frequent, they NEVEREVER run two tills! Save your money Howard. Why put out for the extra register? If what we experience is your business model, pocket the extra cost of the second register because they aren’t using it. At this particular location the regulars still hog the comfy seats. The large black«service» poodle roams the lobby and the owner doesn’t seem to be in any sort of distress that his«service animal» is not by his side.

I went into Starbucks this evening because I had an email special that was $ 1 off espresso drinks, so on my way to work, I stopped in. Bad mistake! I showed the lady my email, she couldn’t punch it up, I also showed the same special on my Starbucks app, and even though she seen it, she said she couldn’t honor it without being a gold star member. And the female who told me this, Tommi, was the evening manager. When I told her that this offer was valid and needs to be accepted, she said, I’ll do it this time, but next time if I’m not a gold star member, she can’t. Excuse you, if a customer has a valid rewards offer, your supposed to accept it, period! I asked her for the corporate number, she went to the back and never came back out. Because I was in a hurry to go to work, I asked the cashier to please do something so I can pay and go to work, I was already frustrated to say the least. She said that she couldn’t make the adjustment, her manager had to and clearly she wasn’t coming from the back. I didn’t even fuss or raise my tone at her. Another associate ended up giving me my drink for free, but I’m still complaining to headquarters because the manager was so rude! The other workers were nice, its not their fault, but Tommi is RUDE and unprofessional. They need to replace her with someone who has customer service skills.

I live near University place so I used to frequent the old place. I was excited to hear that they moved a larger place. After reopening, I visited them several times and have been disappointed. The service is mediocre, and have been downgraded from before. But I think it’s tolerable. The coffee, however, doesn’t taste so good. I have been to many other starbucks and have experienced some awful coffee before. This place serves one of the most bland and watered down tasting coffee. I’m not sure how they do it but everytime I ordered an americano, it tastes worse than my coffeemaker at home. Be warned, you can go to better tasting starbucks around this area. If you care more about vibe and furniture than coffee taste this place is for you.

Just went to the NEWLYRELOCATED store that opened last week, only to be very disappointed. DONOTGOHEREIFYOU’REIN A RUSHTOGETTOWORKINTHEMORNING!!! With only 1 person in front of us, we waited over 18 minutes for 1 cup of coffee. Granted, they use the new«Clover» brewing system, but Ian, the«barista» did not know how to work it! In fact, he let 1 cup of coffee(our order) just run without a cup underneath it! Since the Clover brewing takes 1 – 2 additional minutes, we then had to wait for him to start all over again, but this time, we reminded him about using the cup!

I would never realize such a stark contrast between Starbucks locations until I have moved around the country and witnessed just how horrible some of the stores outside of the Seattle region can be. Because of this, I find it necessary to give kudos where kudos are due and that would be at the University Place Starbucks. The service here is great. Perhaps it’s because I went to high school with these people and we can always chat it up despite almost 10 years having past since graduation(back handed compliment), but for those I only faintly remember, the service has always been spot on. I will confess I don’t know the difference between the machiatto or a double non fat super laxative chocolate soy latte with extra whip. That being said I always roll up and ask a bazillion questions before making my final selection. I’ve never been met with opposition here only helpful remarks to ensure I have ordered the correct drink. Starbucks coffee is Starbucks coffee but it’s the quality of the management that hires excellent baristas to ensure you have a great day. This is a perfect example of what a Starbucks location should be like.
