I got the veggie burger and tots, they were great! I am usually not a huge burger fan but I really liked this one. The special sauce was good and the service was super fast

Expensive and just not good food! Tater tots were plain and overlooked, can make better at home. Burger was not good at all, threw half away. Tried once don’t need to go back again. Liked that you can wait in your car and hear your order being called when ready they the radio, also staff seemed nice.

I am going from two stars to three stars. I was driving down Hwy 7 and I thought I would give Lucky’s a second opportunity. I ordered the Big Smitty without onions or tomatoes. I was very, very happy to see a double patty on it! Great step forward! The burger was served warm, not hot, which was okay. The sauce is still pretty sweet and needs some tang to balance it out. Overall I think that Lucky’s may be learning to adjust their food/menu. If they get the sauce right, I would return again for another Smitty.

Love this place. We just moved out here from North Tacoma and see the towing place had been renovated into a drive in! So cute! The burgers were awesome, seasoned and juicy. The tots were well seasoned and crispy with some great sauces to dip into like sriracha ketchup! The best part is the milkshakes, handmade with real ice cream. I had the strawberry and hubby had banana peanut butter. Both were absolutely amazing. We’ve been back twice now and the owners are so nice and accommodating. If you wait in your car you can turn the radio on to like 89.1 or something and listen to oldies while you wait and they call your order ready through the radio! Very fun and worth every penny.

Mediocre at best. We heard this place was great and drove all the way from North Tacoma. Wish I would have saved the money from the gas and food spent and bought a frozen pizza. My wife took one bite and spit it out, and the owner was there cooking. Won’t go back.

We were returning from Fantasy(Christmas) Lights at Sprinker at Spanaway Lake and stopped here for a bite. This is very much a throw back to a 50’s or 60’s burger place. It is a little like Dexter’s in Gig-Harbor or Frisco Freeze in the north end but with a much more limited menu. The two people working were focused but pleasant. The portions were large. The food quality was excellent as burger places go. It isn’t cheap. It isn’t fast. It isn’t McDonalds. They definitely have a branded taste or flavor. it is definitely worth a try. We will go here again.

This place let me down. Tasteless burgers and not so great service. I say they will be out of business within the next year.

The burgers tasted really good, had some yummy seasoning on them. Seems a bit spend but the food is really good. The shakes are good too.

I live in Parkland and I always drive by this place, which has great location potential, and today I finally decided to grab a bite here. It’s run by like two high school students or something, no uniform, the guy taking the order was completely devoid of happiness, and there was no sense of professionalism here, but not a big deal. I ordered the Chili Tots and a ¼ burger with cheese which was an additional 69 cents. They got my order wrong and gave me an order of regular tater tots, which were western familyish bland, unsalted, and it tasted like the oil was reused several times. There was no ketchup, salt, pepper, or sauce in the bag either. It took some time, so I thought the food was made to order, but the tater tots weren’t even warm, and to my surprise, the burger was cold. It was just dripping with juices from the condiments and vegetables, and the pickles were halfway out already. I don’t believe they microwave the meat, but it really looked like it, no grill marks, awful grayish color, not juicy or smokey, this burger was just a sloppily put together pile of doodoo. The taste was completely forgettable, all the flavor came from the condiments that were squirted onto it. The only good thing about this place is that there’s plenty of parking and like 6 tables outside the place, but there was only one customer ahead of me and it took over 10 minutes to get my food, so I can’t even imagine the wait if this place is crowded. But this place usually isn’t crowded because word is spreading throughout Parkland that this burger joint is terrible. If you want a cold wet gross burger then go to McDonalds or Lucky’s Drive In. Otherwise if you’re in the area and want a delicious burger, Frugals is about 7 minutes north.

Pleasantly surprised with this little gem! The food is tasty, the shakes are yummy, the service is friendly, and all in a part of town that could use a lot more of all those things. I wish they had fish and chips so I could convince my picky daughter to go there, but don’t worry, we’ll be back!

My first time at this very wonderful establishment. The Hot Fudge Milk Shake was amazing! The tater tots were so fresh and tasty! And then the main event — the burger. Very special! It was way too much food for me. .. It was a good thing I was there to share! This is a must in the South end!

Nothing particularly special about these burgers. Sloppy and lacking seasoning, they’re not well executed or very flavorful. Lacking a good char on the patty, its missing the«ewww-mommy» factor. What I DO like is the chili and the old fashioned vibe of the place. The shakes hit the sweet spot. And I don’t mind waiting a few minutes IF the foods worth waiting for. Ask to have the tots extra crispy because if you don’t, they’ll come out limp. If they’d work on the prep and cooking techniques, they could have something here. Believe me, I want little drive-in’s like this to succeed as an offset to the corporate Crap-Donald’s death burger palaces.

Great little place food is good, menu is a bit limited, but what the hey. Love the burgers but if you are not a tater tot fan, don’t come here. Really wish they had bacon for the burgers that would be heaven. Drive on in before the weather gets crappy and you have to eat on your car. And if you want a great shake yum I had pineapple it was fab.

YUM! Okay. It’s been hot y’all. Like record setting hot. There is a scientific justification for daily milkshakes during our record setting heat wave. While you’re there, you might as well get an amazing burger too, though pretty much everything pales in comparison to these shakes. Fast, good, and friendly. You really can’t ask for more. Even though they just opened, it’s running flawlessly. No forgotten orders or incorrect charges. Menu is short because it’s already perfect. I’m so happy to have a local ‘fast’ food option that is locally owned, real GOOD meat and bread that isn’t styrofoam or pink paste. Be sure to get a root beer float shake, highly recommend!

Yum. Grabbed burgers after a visit to the LeMay Family Collection and enjoyed our visit immensely. Quality burgers(I’m not sure what the sauce is, but I like it – flavorful but not hot). Dad’s tots were crispy and perfect and he enjoyed his salted caramel shake very much. My burger reminded me of the burgers at Shake Shake Shake in the Stadium district, which makes sense because(if I understand correctly) Lucky’s is owned by one of the guys who runs Shake Shake Shake. I see some folks complaining about wait times and temperature, but we didn’t have those issues on our visit, which was about 3:30 on a Wednesday afternoon. Maybe things get hairier during the dinner rush or on weekends, I dunno. But it’s a tiny, tiny place so I’d assume there could be a wait if there were lots of folks ahead of me. It’s not a McDonalds-scale operation. The folks who took our order and made our food were really friendly, too, which is a plus.

The burgers are on a roll not a bun. That took me off gaurd. The orange cicle shake was not orange at all. To much vanilla ice cream not enough orange. Slow service but that is because everything is made to order Bonus! The drive in theme, the radio station to listen to your order cool, but the food… not as good as we hoped. Go up the hill to Frugals!

I gave it 1 star because there is nothing lower to select. I had high hopes but I was sadly disappointed. The Smithy Burger was a sloppy, goopy, mess of crap. The roll was stale. The meat had little meat taste. The sauce and onions drowned out any meat taste that might be in there under all the sauce. They should rename the burger to the Yucky Burger. Don’t waste your time, even a(yuck) McDonalds burger would be better than this. Next time I’ll drive a few blocks North and get a Frugals Burger. Lucky’s doesn’t even come close to Frugals.

The Lucky is a perfect size burger, the tater tots were good, the hot fudge shake good also. The wait was about 30 – 40 mins not bad since its new. Nice local place, no where to sit, and the one window situation when it’s busy seems a crowded area. But we will be back.

Ate there today for the first time. The Smitty burger was good especially the sauce and bun but it was mildly warm by the time I ate it. Took 15 minutes to get up to the window to order. There were 4 people ahead of me and one of them left before ordering. Took another 10 minutes to get our food and 15 more minutes to get 3 shakes. The one window to order and pick up food makes it too unorganized. And they need to figure out how to get food and shakes out to the customer at the same time. Overall the food and shakes get 4 stars while the service gets 1 star. Hope they figure it out soon or they will turn too many customers away shaking heads.

Today was the first time I wanted to try Luckys so I can see what all the fuss was about. The lady at the front counter taking orders is very polite and they were not that busy at all. After ordering my food it took me about 20 minutes to get one Lucky burger & small tater tot. I just could not believe how long I had to Stand there and wait for my food I mean it was just ridiculous. Be very honest with you based off that fact along I really don’t plan on going back there eating ever again. And then when I finally got my food it was not even worth the wait. The burger was so sloppy and small. The type of bun they use was just horrible. And the tater tots were under cook. They Taste like they were just soaked in oil. They seem to have no kind of time system down of getting orders out in a timely matter which could be a very big problem for them if they do not get the situation under control. Until I hear otherwise about them fixing that. I do not plan to go back anytime soon . If you’re trying to get something quick to eat I recommend for you not to go here because you will be waiting forever for your food. Just horribly slow business!!!
