Growing up in NY, Gyros were everywhere and they were all almost good but this restraraunt is excellent, the staff very friendly and the food is even better, I ask for recommendations and the cashier was very polite, and honest. The food arrived and let me tell you for a person who doesn’t eat salad, I cleared my plate I will defiantly be going back with more friends. The lamb in the gyro was excellent, and the rest was delicious

I went here with a friend after seeing the reviews on Unilocal for this place. I didn’t know Mediterranean Palace was within a food court. I’m glad we went though because my lamb gyro was DELICIOUS! They even bring the food to you. I love Greek food and the gyros were spot on. I think if I happened to pass by this place, I wouldn’t have tried it out because it’s in a food court, but I’m SO glad I did. I’m so glad I was interested in this place due to the Unilocal reviews which is why I want to write one too! I was intrigued by food court because it had a myriad of cuisines. From what I remember, I saw Indian, Mexican, American, and I believe Vietnamese places. If I was ever waiting for the train, I would definitely eat here again! I think if I ever feel like getting their gyros again I would get take-out to bring home. I would love to try the other items on their menu as well!

So I didn’t realize this place was in a food court-type setting right by the Tacoma train station — we were a little surprised when we drove up and realized this. But nonetheless, the reviews were great so we decided to brave the homeless people outside and try it out. Inside, the place is quirky — it’s a mashup of tons of different kinds of food(aka a food court). We found Med. Palace right away and I ordered the chicken gyro plate(came with salad and rice on the side), and my friend ordered the lamb gyro plate. I didn’t get to try hers, but oh man was mine delicious. I see now why they have such great reviews! Literally after every bite I was thinking that I was so glad we decided to try this place out. The guy working was really friendly and helpful too. I think next time I’ll probably order to-go, but I definitely plan to be back!

A diamond in the rough of the train station at Freight-house square. We get take-out from here when coming home, and occasionally sit at the tables in front of here. Hummus is Great– we always get the hummus plate! We usually get gyro plates with Mediterranean salad and occasionally the kabob plate too. Tatziki is good, but not great– it’s a little thick for great tatziki. We will continue to get take-out from here(about every 3 weeks) or sit and enjoy the scenery of a food court. ;-) Last note– this is not true fast food– it usually takes 5 to 10 minutes for them to prepare it, but it’s definitely worth the wait!

Fantastic food and service! I love that place. The owners are great friendly people. I’ve eaten there countless times in the last couple decades. I’ve tried many items on the menu and loved them all. Lamb gyro plate, garlic chicken breast and sampler plates were my favorites. I should add that their rice is the best I’ve ever tasted. Great Greek salad and pita bread too.

There’s not many places in Tacoma that you can great affordable and delicious Mediterranean food! Right in the Freighthouse(that’s a pretty divey spot to begin with, but filled with the cooky and delicious food n shops) this gem is just the diversity Tacoma needs. It’s a super nice lunch time spot bc as a UWT student, I can just take the light rail from downtown. The end of the lightrail stops right infront of the Freighthouse. As for the food. It is spot on. ALWAYS ask for alittle more tzatziki sauce on the side(that green, mayo lookin stuff), especially if you get the Greek waffle fries. My usual is the gyro plate with lamb and they always pack the gyro with meat and veggies once you become a regular. Amber, the cook/server who usually works mid afternoons when I come in, genuinely is friendly and remembered my order only after a second trip, two weeks after my first! It is always super refreshing when you can have a calm and fun conversation with your servers as well as good customer service from them! She was super honest about what she liked and disliked and urged me to try the stuffed grape leaves or to order more tzatziki sauce than normal. Depending on if it’s lunch hour, expect to spend a speedy wait of like 6 minutes. I’d call in if you’re taking out! There’s an hour free private lot behind the freighthouse too and they take credit cards. All in all, my experience at the Mediterranean Palace was wonderful! The staff is more than worthy of a cheaper than 10 $ meal per person and a generous tip! They definitely earned it!

I’m confuzed. All these red stars on here? Maybe I was having a nightmare that I ate here… So essentially… I really… ughhhh…didnt eat here??? Even though I really(unfortunately) DID eat here… Lemme see… I don’t ‘get high’ no mo’. Sooooo that’s not it… I don’t drink no mo’. That ain’t it. Hmmm… I got a clear head. Yeah… I ate here. I don’t get it. I’m sorry… I…I just… don’t get it. While their GREEK waffle fries are much better with that creamy greek emulsion(yeeeuuum) than the ‘Greek Café’s’ fries in Lakewood(which aren’t bad… they just aren’t as suttle flavor-wise as here which I dig) – their Gyro however… has BIG lamb shoes to fill in comparison to tha’ Greek Café. Lakewood y’all…LAKEWOOD. 1st-uggghhh…where y’all get them little ‘pita covers’? Translation: tha bread. It was so… so wittle. Yeah wittle. 2nd-Don’t toast/char my pita cover. Um. um…don’t do that. Be scratchin’ tha roof of ya mouth all up. That Char taste messin’ with my Gyro taste. Um um… don’t do that. 3rd-you see how fluffy I am? U know y that is? Cuz I likes ta EAT. Besides GOD protecting me & loving me –its why I’m happy. Fluffy and blessed. My? ton is— WHERREEE is tha meat? I know dang well y’all got more little lambs running around back there than that. Anytime, my pita cover ‘crosses over’ when I pick it up and I mean CROSS… my fellow YP’s… you got me right? Right??? It CROSSEDOOOOOVER… tha’ meat. Like… wayyyeee crossed. Um um. No… don’t do that. I had ta check and make sure I actually picked the dang thang up. Make sure it wasn’t my napkin I was fixin’(yeah I sed ‘fixin’) na eat. It was so light. Look here — Fluffy baby… wants a fluffy sandwich. Like my appreciative brothas’ back home in Flint and Detroit say when they see sistas’ like myself–«Dang gurl… you thick» or «man… she healthy». Heathy gurl… Healthy Gyro. Healthy Gyro… Happy Girl. See how that all rolls together?! Cohesive-ness. So go here if you want a– not-so-tasty ‘Gerber Gyro-Slider’ for babies just cuttin’ their teeth. They got wittle tummies that can’t take much… You know who you are. And if your a man… that fits this bill… just don’t. Don’t raise ya’ hand. Just… don’t. Or you can go to: Tha ‘Greek Café’…where they got Gyros built for fluffy, thick, happy in Jesus – Chicks like myself. They got uh whole LOTTA lambs runnin’ round in tha’ back. Tha pita covers… they don’t touch. Warmed on tha grill. Soft bread. Seasoned meat. Try the Super Gyro. Beef, Lamb… Chicken. All three… wit dat tahziki sauce(however ya spell it…)…BOOOOMB! Do that. And for tha Gyro warden readin’ this sayin…(in that color-matchin’, ‘pocket protector’ wearin voice you have) «ya know Mrs. Thick… it’s not all lamb ya know! True Gyros are only in Greece where they only use ‘Real Jesus Lambs’…ya see here in tha’ states…» Go sit down somewhere. Don’t nobody wanna hear all that. Let me eat my Fake, TASTY, seriously Fluffy – Thick Gyro… in happy ignorance. Oh…and tha’ rice… somebody on here said mellow & yellow??? More like nasty and gummy. Is that suppose to be Risotto? Cuz, sista’ HATE Risotto. And if it wasn’t??? Then you reeaaalllly need go head and ‘chunk’(ugghhh…that’s THROW) that recipe and tha’ person who created it… in tha’ Puget Sound. I almost forgot that part I talk so much. See… even I know I do.

Not sure why this place received so many stars it wasn’t that great. Meat was dry, but the beef was seasoned well. Rice is OK, they do give you a lot of it though. Hummus… well you can’t do hummus wrong. Dolmathes are ok, very mushy. Good customer service, very friendly guy. Won’t be back unless super desparate and don’t want to drive to Seattle or Bellevue.

The chef makes everything to perfection. Gyros, musaka, Shish Kebobs, salad all are delicious. Freighthouse Square has a hole in the wall feel but amazing eating. I hit them up twice a month. NEVER disappointed.

I saw the rating on Unilocal and stopped on my way back to Seattle. I walked in around 6:40 and ordered the sampler that had a little of everything, for less than $ 10. After I got my food, I noticed people closing shop and leaving. I checked Unilocal and it said it closed at 7pm. The guy behind the counter, who also was the cook, never rushed me. I shoved that delicious Greek food down my throat, and ordered baklava to go. I apologized profusely as someone who used to work in a restaurant and, «hated that guy.» Excellent Mediterranean food and superb service. It’s also super cool that it’s a n international food court in a building that’s over 100 years old.

Love this place; it truly hits the spot every visit. My default plate of choice is the #27, Gyro plate with Fries. How can one turn down a plate? The gyro is flavorful, tender and topped with just the right amount of tzatziki. And then, the fries… crispy criss cuts topped with their house basil sauce generously garnished with feta. Y U M. Best $ 10 spent and definitely satisfying! I also recommend their dolmas, hummus plate as well as their salads. All equally yummy and satisfying!

Popped in here for lunch… It was seat yourself but the waitress handed me a menu within a minute of sitting down. I ordered a chicken gyro meal, which for $ 9 was a great deal. If definitely go back when I’m around again.

I have frequented the Palace off and on for the past few years but this is my first review. The FreightHouse businesses are a unique bunch. Many owners will come out from behind the counter and socialize with the customers. It has a great vibe and is all Tacoma. Since I have dined at most of the restaurants inside FreightHouse, I enjoy reviewing these establishments. Today, I had a craving for Gyros. I went to Med. Palace. I was not disappointed. I ordered the Gyros Platter. I waited no longer than ten minutes for my order. The Gyros was cooked to perfection and was very tasty. The rice was fresh and yummy. The salad had fresh greens, generous Feta cheese applied and a great dressing to boot. Overall, this place has greatly improved over the years. Give it a try! You won’t be disappointed.

Great food, served on real plates and glassware at very resonable prices! Don’t let the outside fool you, this place is legit. Though I live in Los Angeles, this place is as close as it gets to what you get at some of the fine places here in LA. I got the Gyro plate, I believe it was $ 8.29. Everything(rice, salad, veggies) was fresh. The Tzatziki was was excellent, one of the better ones. Oh, I have to mention if you get water here… it’s in a glass cup and the water from here, tasted better than some of the other eats in the same plaza. Parking is out front, if you can find one. Stroll down the plaza for some retail goodies. There isn’t much but at least it’s covered and you can walk off your food.

DELICIOUS. I got the gyro to go and it came with a bag of Lay’s. Everything was nicely wrapped and placed in a cute gift bag. It seems like these bag of chips are becoming smaller and smaller with nothing inside but it was still good. The gyro was juicy and delicious. It has onions, tomato, tzatziki sauce, gyro meat, dill and other herbs and spices. It was around $ 6! I was so happy to find Greek food close to work. I can’t wait to try something else on their menu. Apparently they also have the real Mediterranean grill up the street. I can’t wait to check that out also. The girl working there was also very nice. I’ll be back soon!

Wow. That was surprisingly delicious food! I’ve been here before, but it was a while ago. Tonight was amazing! I ordered the beef kabob plate, which comes with the most amazing brown rice with turmeric(or some yellow spice), and a salad. The salad has this delicious tahini dressing and feta on it, and plenty of tomatoes, cucumbers, and olives. The steak on the kabobs was out of this world. It was tender and very flavorful with a very unique combination of spices on it. Yum! Also, The tzatziki was very good. This place is a hidden gem. We need to remember it!

Craving some gyros and remembered that there was a spot at Freighthouse so I decided to come here for lunch. Didn’t expect much after my ordering experience, the person who took my order was washing dishes as I walked up and didn’t seem to friendly, I ordered a couple gyros meals with lamb and crossed my fingers! Got to work and opened up the meals and to me and my co-workers delight they were delish!

I always try Gyros wherever I go. They have Beef, Chicken and Lamb meat to choose from. No combined meats there. Rest assured they prepare the meats fresh every day. They have a decent variety of food to select from. It’s a little more spendy then some other places I’ve eaten for the same dish. I went with the LAMB and it was pretty good. The owner who took my order was very pleasant and happy to have my business. It was lunch hour so the place was pretty busy anyway. It’s nice to see appreciation from business owners.
