I kinda suspected the girl making my pita was high, and then I noticed her marijuana themed hat. Cmon man.

Poor service. I tried calling in an order and the guy over the phone told me to just come in since it’s not busy. I was on my lunch break and I always place an order over the phone and pick it up. Once I got there, I was in a small line with 3 people ahead of me. It took about 10 minutes to finally place my order and another 10 minutes to wait for it. So much for having time for my lunch. Also I find it gross that they cook and use the same utensils for the meats. Some lady complained about her falafel touching the other meats. It’s really disorganized too. Like the other bad reviews they do tend to ignore you.

Yum yum yum are my only feelings about this place! I like the dark, simple décor & it’s a very simple place that needs not to concentrate on anything else other than the delicious food they put out. My husband & I were searching for a healthier dining out experience after a doctors appointment today, and we came across this gem. And boy am I dang happy we did! We both got the Gyros on a wheat pita. I love love love the tzatziki!!! It’s so smooth, creamy & I want to cry thinking of how delicious it was. I can’t wait to come here more. It’s definitely a place everyone should try if they did a different but healthy & yummy version of a pita! We ate here. But I’m in line to buy 2 more to take home because I can’t have it any other way!

Great little place to get a quick sandwich, and they have a lot of different choices than you will find elsewhere downtown. They are busy at lunch but not so much in the evening so you can get quick service and a delicious product. And they are open pretty late. I’ve had the gyro twice and would recommend it.

Mixed service, the woman ignored pretty much everything I asked for, and the guy was pretty good. So, two experiences there, mixed experiences. But the food was good/ok which is important of course. One thing I don’t like is, if you go there you will smell afterwards like fried food or grill … hair and clothes will just stink. they don’t seem to want to use their exhaust hood for some reason. Anyway, it’ll do in a pinch, but they really need to up their service.

In the past I’ve had an up & down relationship with this cute little sandwich shop, but over the past few weeks my daughter(home from college for the holidays), has dropped by this location for lunch, once she brought me back a chicken breast salad on a particularly bad day at work for me, and I realized time has healed old wounds. I want to ENcourage, not DIScourage, all Tacomans from supporting smaller, local businesses in lieu of larger chains, and this pita restaurant has done well for our community for several years now. My daughter has said the service she’s been receiving here this holiday season has been exceptional, and as such I am revising my previous, rather grumpy, review accordingly!

The Pita Pit is the best spot on the block; everything about this place is perfect! They are very efficient, but the pita pockets are always the best! The variety of sauces and the quality of the ingredients is unbeatable. Even the servers are quite friendly; I’ve always been treated like a valued guest at this place! I highly recommend The Lumberjack, you won’t go away hungry.

The food is fantastic and so are the people. Manuel was really friendly and helpful, as I was unfamiliar with some of the items on the menu. I could tell he loves what he does and the food was sooooo good! I recommend people on Pacific Ave to come in and have a pita. I had the chicken souvlaki pita with dark chicken, perfectly diced tomatoes, spinach, olives, and feta packed neatly in a large white pita.

Checked this place out this past weekend and it was great. Both kids were dying to go back the second we left. Good selection and nice guy running the place by himself that day.

We got street parking right around the corner from this place. An older couple gave us their parking timestamp which still had a couple of hours left on it, score! It was easy to find. When we got inside it was a bit of a ‘hole in the wall joint’ atmosphere but very clean from what I could tell. Hubby loved the funny character artwork that was hanging up everywhere. The menus were easy to understand and self explanatory. Hubby did say that he went to the bathroom and the hallway to get there looked a bit like one in a scary movie tho lol. The guy behind the counter was SUPER nice and funny. He had a good personality and sense of humor. He explained everything we needed to know in order to choose what we wanted and he was very nice about it. The sandwich itself was not bad at all! We got the same sandwich(lamb gyro) the only thing different was o had feta cheese on mine, he didn’t. The meat was precut, but enough. The tzatziki sauce tasted homemade and on point! We opted not to get chips or drink, just the sandwich, but it was delicious! I would come back here for sure the next time I’m in this area.

If you have never been to a a Pita Pit, you’d probably avoid it just because of the name. Barbecue Pit, sure, but what do pita breads have to do with pits? Nothing besides alliteration, I guess. It’s essentially a hybrid between Subway and the old mall gyro wrap/falafel joints. Lots of fresh veggies, a dozen sauces, and six different meats are available to make your own choices. The east coast locations steam their pitas just before assembling them(it makes a big difference), so I can’t 5-star this place. Nice people, very clean, and I’ll be back.

I went to a Pita Pit a while ago when I lived in Fort Collins. I actually didn’t know it was even a chain. The end result is about the same as my first visit to one. I got a gyro here. While it was decent and pretty fresh it was by no means an authentic gyro. The meat certainly resemble that but it is not a big surprise for me. They try to get as close to a traditional gyro as they can and all in all it wasn’t bad.

I always come here and get the chicken breast pita. If you’re lucky enough to get the guy with curly black hair he is the best. He always ask to see if you want anything grilled with my chicken and he always makes sure to remember your name if you use a card and on the way out he will make sure to say«have a good day(name here)» Try the tzatziki. It’s the best

On a normal day, I would have reviewed this place lower. BUTONTHISPARTICULARNIGHT… …POSTCLUBBING… And WITHIN heel walking distance… …pita pit was the only place open with food to fill our bellies. So… out of graciousness and being utterly thankful… Dear Pita Pit, Thank you… for providing me food at ungodly hours in the night when I should be sleeping. But instead, have decided to tromp around the streets of Tacoma with my low standard looking self. You served me like I was any normal human being. Thank you.
