My favorite part of the Christmas holiday is CANDYCANES! They have a wonderful selection… regular good old Bob’s peppermint flavored, Apple Crisp(for mom), popular baking item flavored ones like key lime pie, banana cream pie, cream puff, then strawberry and blackberry… skittles flavored… Then these really«Whooville» looking inspired… In pastel colors and the loop on top loops back into itself and makes a little more than a full circle… Need to say, I naught all of those that were left-sorry kids! Great unique Christmas ideas… a huge Hello Kitty Pez dispenser, and a vintage looking red and white air popcorn popper… looks inspired from old movie poppers with wheels. My moms been looking EVERYWHERE we go for that just«PERFECT» Santa hat-momma is picky– but they had her«really fluffy ALL OVER-and sewn on ball, not hanging on by a thread» Santa hat! Need I say more? No? OK, one more thing… the Clerk was smiling, witty, and had fun with you while he helped you check out. Outstanding run to the store in a long time! Thank you Matt!

I usually use this place quite often but that’s about to change quickly if they continue to allow people in the store with their pets. Yesterday I followed a lady in there with some sort of mastiff. All I could think of was his big hairy nut sack hanging down and huge bare asshole staring me in the face in the food we eat. Disgusting. NO, it’s NOT acceptable to bring your dogs of any kind into a grocery store people! It’s unhygienic, and we don’t want your flea bags near our fresh food. If you don’t mind it, good, do it at YOUR house. Surprising this has to even be pointed out.

I agree with Julie S. This Safeway is just average. I have found that they run out of products, so you have to go to another store to get it. This is a big hassle. Most of the staff are pleasent, but there are a couple of women who check that are so sour your face will pucker. Also, the international department does not carry much in the way of products If I want to cook Chinese or or mexican, its better to go to Fred Meyers for those products. Their organics department is also lacking. I would like to see a larger variety there. In fact a larger variety of products would be nice throughout the store. I still will shop at Safeway, but I find myself going to other stores more often now.

**EXPIREDGROCERYPRODUCTS** Wow the quality at this store has taken a turn for the worst! So far I can count on one hand how many times I have go back and get a refund/exchange on grocery product. SERIOUSLY. Now when I shop, I read the expiration dates all the time. Before I could shop at Safeway with trust but now I am scared. The last straw was when my husband drank a Snapple Half and Half Iced Tea and smelled like a dirty sink! Literally EXPIRED, we barely could make out the expiration date. I called and complained and the representative said they are«renovating» and this was a known issue! I am so done with Safeway your quality sucks!

This is an average Safeway in my mind. They always seem to be a little chaotic and a little dirty or not fully stocked or some other minor issue. There is lots of parking, but it can fill up quickly. They do have a Red Box and ATM inside. It just has a slightly run down or just out of its prime feel to it. There are always lines, even when not crowded. The prices and items are just fine, but I’d prefer the Safeway off of Proctor first. The only benefit of this location is the gas. They have great competitive prices on gas for the area. While it can also get crowded, people seem to get the flow and it’s not a problem.

Hectic day in the store. Everyone was doing their best to be helpful and cheerful. Somehow a jar of Adams peanut butter was put in the basket but not fully into a bag. When I went to put it in my trunk it went crashing. The store manger noticed somehow and came right out to help clean up and brought me a new jar. Nice.

Fee-free credit union ATM inside. Good deli sandwiches. Big, modern supermarket with all the trimmings. There’s really nothing wrong with this store in particular, but I have a hard time rating any Safeway store more than 3 stars due to their ridiculous ‘Club Card’ policy. Basically, all of the sale prices require that you provide a membership card at checkout. If you don’t have one you either pay full price or have to create one on the spot. Just an unnecessary hassle, and enough to make it worthwhile to shop elsewhere most of the time.

I actually like this store fine, except for one big problem. I have to walk through cigarette smoke most times just to get inside. There is very much a smoking culture at this store, both by customers and employees. There are some nice tables in front on one side for folks to sit in the sun, but there is usually at least one person sitting there smoking. On the other side is a bike rack. One time I biked up towards the rack, where there was an employee sitting/leaning on it(smoking), who didn’t even move to let me lock up. I promptly wheeled around and went to do my shopping at Albertsons. I’m not really sure what can be done about it, as I’m sure smokers must be spending enough money at the store to make it worth catering to them. I just know that because of my reluctance to walk through an ashtray to get into the store, it is last on my list of possible places to buy stuff.

This is my grocery store of choice for more years than I care to count. Why only three stars? I’ve had some horrible encounters in their deli department mostly from one girl named Julie. I can take her being rude to me, but to my little boy? I wasn’t happy. She’s obnoxiously rude and for the life of me not sure why she’s allowed to work there. My other complaint would be how Safeway quits carrying products they’ve carried for years. That’s very frustrating. The good notes would be the best grocery prices in the harbor, their growing health food section and many of the employees are so nice and wonderful.

I went to get a large sub sandwich for three kids I was taking on a picnic. I asked the deli person for paper bags so I can split the sub into three. He said he wasn’t allowed to give bags away because customers might put stolen items in them. I turned around and went to the bakery department and got three bagel bags. As I was heading back to pay, the manager stopped me and asked«are you the one who wanted bags» I said, «Yes, but it’s okay I got some at the bakery department. «The manager got belligerent and said, «You don’t understand, I have told my staff not to give away bags because of SHOPLIFTING(emphasis).» I asked him why they give away bags at the bakery department and he got even more mad. He said, «Look just like you tell your kids not to touch fire, I tell my employees not give away bags. Do you understand that?» I just looked at him in disbelief and told him that he just lost a customer for LIFE! and he didn’t care. It’s amazing how one small request can be extrapolated into shoplifting. It’s the worst customer service experience I ever had and now make it a point NEVER to spend my money in Safeway. YUCK!
