I used to work at a Skippers many years ago and boy have things changed! This location had no all you can eat, was out of chowder, fries were soggy, small fillets… they had even run out of pepper!

Omg this gem is back! I just love their Chowder. Well English fish n chips great too(cod). Although the under breaking a little bready. Does that make sense? coleslaw is same too. Guess I don’t get home that often(he said it’s been here for a few yrs reopened. No more all u can eat posted but the recipes are same. They do have family meals to go too. Original fish is pollock FYI. Mmm tasty.

This place is horrible !! Over priced food! They charge you a lot and they don’t give you much food. They no longer have all you can eat! You want to go to a good skippers go to the skippers in puyallup off of east main. They still do all you can eat, better environment and better customer service.

They have changed the all you can eat and now limit the chowder to a bowl. The service was slow. The carpet was sticky. This is a disgrace to the skippers of old.

Don’t let the name Skippers fool you. It is not anything like the Skippers you remember. This place is the absolute worst. Horrid, horrid staff. Unorganized and slow. After 45 minutes we get our 3 fish and chips. No chowder that we ordered but did get an argument from the staff claiming it didn’t come with our combo until she turned around and read the menu. Several customers in front of us demanded their money back. People angry from waiting so long. Burnt fish, cold fries. There was almost a customer riot in there. Worst restaurant ever. No joke

The most dramatic Skippers I’ve ever been to and never will again. The carpet was stained. The table tops and booths are sticky. Lots of hand made signs with the info on what’s sold out today and where your garbage should go. Bitter taste to the deep fried foods, indicating a need to change the fryer oil. The worst franchise of the Skippers lot. Corporate should take notice — these folks are ruining your reputation. Snooty counter help spent all the time we were there complaining about Mike, the owner, Donna, a worker, and Roy, her desired boyfriend. Counter helper stated that if Mike didn’t give her a full lunch hour, she’d report the restaurant to the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department for all its violations. She also hopes Roy will be her boyfriend but he’s afraid he’ll just hurt her feelings — Get a clue gal, he’s telling you he’s not interested. High drama in the afternoon. If you love seafood like I do — STAYAWAY! The deplorable conditions and attitude of the help make this an avoidable experience.

Worst experience ever! Easter Sunday– the handwritten sign on the door stated restaurant open until 7pm /to-go orders only starts at 6:30pm. I’m on crutches and have my two kids with me– it’s 6:17pm when we enter the Skipper’s. The counter person immediately looks at the clock and tells me they can only do «to-go» orders since it’s 6:20pm. I was so stunned at her attitude I didn’t know how to react– I told her it was barely 6:20pm and had asked if we could quickly grab a bite. She blurted out a firm no! Then explained how the owners don’t pay them to stay late and she still had to vacuum– she was so rude and unfriendly I didn’t even want to eat there any longer. Never mind the fact there is no way I can hobble out of the restaurant with to go bags– I’m clearly struggling on my crutches! So I told her I was calling her corporate office and would report her attitude to her manager– she shot back with telling me they were privately owned and her name was Amy and I was welcome to call! So as we were leaving I snapped a photo of the note on the door– it did say 6:30p! Ironically I used to manage restaurants for several years and know what bad customer service is– & Amy is just that! I feel sorry for the owner/operator that may not know how their staff represents their business. However, in the restaurant business the guests drive the business! Loss of guests= loss of revenue! I will never visit again and we were pretty frequent Friday evening to-go orderers(especially during Lent!), but goodbye Skippers! Your food was good but your rude staff drove us away permanently!

Great food, awesome service. Very clean atmosphere. When the worker was bored, she was cleaning, vacuuming, etc. she helped me save money by insisting I change my order slightly to their special of the day, which included everything I was already ordering PLUS more for $ 4 less. Their coleslaw was great(which is surprisingly hard to find). Good coffee too. I sat, ate, and watched ESPN on their two flat-screen TV’s. Great experience.
