Come here all the time. The prices are crazy but still the food is good. The only thing is that one time I ordered soda, which I never do. They gave me a cup with ice and soda can. I poured it and it wasn’t till the very end of my soda I noticed FRUITFLYSINMYCUP!!! It was so much I practically gagged. I let the Lady know what happened and asked for water and made sure their wasn’t flies. But what pissed me off was they didn’t give us a discount and even charged me for the drink! And I let them know that I shouldn’t be charged for the drink. You can tell they got mad about it but hey you can’t blame me right? Anyways I still go here but I NEVER get soda. Lol

On 8−7−15, we were looking forward to beer at our favorite spot, Narrows Brewing and some take home BBQ from Smokin’ Z’s! This was our 2nd visit, our 1st since they got their new food truck. Unfortunately this time our food was awful! We ordered the pulled chicken sandwiches and ribs. It was all they had available that day and have heard their full menu is often unavailable? Maybe they run out quickly? While we waited, we were offered a sample of the pulled chicken we had ordered. It was nice but very, very saucy. When we got our sandwiches, the chicken was NOT the same as the sample we had. The chicken on our sandwiches had a very mushy texture. My husband more accurately referred to it as canned«cat food» texture. The flavor was also very off, almost burnt tasting and was almost black in color? The ribs had way too much smoke flavor and resembled the flavor of liquid smoke, though I doubt it was. We totally lost our appetites after a couple tastes and ended up without dinner that night. Our 1st visit, a few months prior, was very impressive which left us wanting to return. Maybe the switch to a new food truck was a bad move? I don’t know, but unfortunately we will be very leery about trying them again. Sorry, but the food we received that night, honestly should not have been served.

I got the pulled pork sandwich from their truck at the PX on JBLM which looks like a Sloppy Joe. All flavor of the meat or the smoke is drowned out by whatever sauce it marinates in, which isn’t that great. If you’re a fan of wet pulled pork, I suppose you’d like it. If your not, and you want any resemblance of sauce off your meat, avoid Smokin Zee’s.

Boo! Drove across the bridge($ 6 toll) because of the good reviews. Very disappointed! Out of everything, what they did have was nasty, dried out and tasteless. No drinks, no tables, they say to go sit in the brewery but no kids allowed in there!!! DONOTPAYTHETOLL to go here! Not worth it!

My husband and I came here when we were in town for Memorial day weekend. We were originally headed to Narrow’s Brewing Company so we could have a beer but we had my little preciousness(my dog) with me so we couldn’t go in there. We chugged beers by Boathouse and on the way this place caught my husband’s eye. He LOVESBBQ and fiends for it constantly. We looked at the menu and picked up some ribs and it was REALLY good, very smoky and as soon as we ordered, the guy just reached into his giant amazing smoker and just pulled a piece out and plopped it in our box. The food truck guy and my hubs had a very long conversation about BBQ that I didn’t pay attention to, but he did go all around the country visiting many BBQ places. I thought the prices were reasonably cheap(but I’m also used to ridiculous lala land prices). Also considering I’ve tried very many BBQ places in Los Angeles like Phil’s and Bludso’s this place is def up there.

I experienced Smokin Zee’s when they were at Narrows Brewing. I had the pulled pork without a bun because I’m gluten free. They were really helpful when I asked questions about their sauces. Also, they gave me extra coleslaw since I couldn’t eat the corn bread. The pork and coleslaw were both very good! Thanks guys!

The Puget Sound’s most amazing BBQ cart! Note the address is where they are set up and operating every Friday afternoon into evening, right at the Narrows Brewing Company near Boathouse 19, at the marina. I have been told they hope to have a permanent location soon but for now, you can catch Joe and Pete every Friday right at the Narrows Brewing Company location, right out in front. We found these guys last week, right after dinner at the adjacent restaurant. They have a deal with the brewing company to provide BBQ sliders and coleslaw and cornbread for the brewery because they don’t have a kitchen — so it’s a perfect deal for all: get your pulled pork slider and slaw, and head on in to have a fresh local brew. I felt compelled to post this Unilocal review because they quite frankly make the absolute best BBQ brisket I have ever had in my life! It’s simply amazing… the rub is delicately seasoned and not overly strong on any one seasoning. It’s slow cooked in a BBQ/Smoker over apple wood they bring in from Eastern Washington. It’s crazy good smokey but again, as with the seasoning rub, it’s not overdone — definitely smokey in a perfect way — doesn’t leave you with that smoked-out sensation that a lot of places do. Maybe it’s because they do it slowly — less smoking over a longer time? I don’t know but it sure tastes great! Same with the pulled pork — it’s not quite as smokey so much but has a wonderful delicate sweet flavor and is moist and tender — perfect for sliders. Their prices are surprisingly good as well — very very reasonable and WAY below what you’d have to pay in a restaurant. And as usual, I have no affiliation other than being a fan of their 5-star BBQ. Super nice guys that run Smokin’ Zee’s as well — I hope they do well and end up opening that walk-in restaurant one day soon. I do believe they cater as well… but check their web site to be sure.
