Great food and entertainment with service to match. Much work and detail has gone into the Stonegates décor, both downstairs along with the«Rock loft», a full bar with stage upstairs which can reserved for private party’s, meetings, etc. A fantastic selection of libations with one of the largest Rum selections around and music 7 nights a week with no cover, bringing in some of the best musicians in the Puget Sound area. One of the few, if not the only bar in the state to do so. The music genres range from Blues, acoustic, jazz and Rock and Roll with Kudos going out to the Owner Jeff Call for bringing in such great music, including fronting his own band and hosting open mike and jam nights for the good people of South Puget Sound.

What happened??? I have not been more disappointed in a long time. We have been loyal local fans but not tonight. it started with flat sodas, I give this one a pass accept that the bartender said they had already had a complaint bout flat sodas… so you didn’t fix it then? So 15 minutes later we get better sodas, so I order a beer and ask what is on tap. I get«there is 12 I think, there’s a lot of beers to memorize» are kidding me?! The pizza was amazingly terrible, Tombstone frozen is better, not to mention as slow as they where it was Luke warm by the time it hit our table. Even my twelve year old didn’t like it and he loves any pizza he eats. So sorry S Tacoma, you have again lost another decent restaurant to pure amateur restaurant ownership.

Went here for the first time last night for the Seahawks game by accident and glad I did. The service was awesome and the food was really good. I love the layout and the atmosphere. They had a jazz/blues band playing after the game that were pretty good as well. I will definitely be back here for those nachos at least!

Best Rum bar. I eat here a lot. Steamed clams, pizza, fried mushrooms, salads. I am never disappointed. Foxy Roxy and Panda are loads of fun. Ask them to just make you a drink. They are good at that. seriously, just tell them to make you a drink, and don’t say anything else. say«Bill told me to», if they ask. and tip well. the quality of the food in the locale beats all in S. Tac baby. This is your non dive bar, with all the fun of a dive. plus, the food is better than most sit down places around.

I so want to like this place, but the food is just so bad that in spite of the great service, the great location, the good ambiance and the good choice of recipes, the food is so bad that I’m giving them a 1 in hopes they will get their act together. Had wings 2 inches long which were rubbery, watery, and the sweet chili sauce which used to be good and comes in 100’s of perfectly adequate bottled versions, actually tasted terrible. Then there were the jalapeño poppers, which taste good even if you get them at jack in the box. These were cooked perfectly, but completely flavorless(?!) Somehow. And served with what tasted like half thai spring roll sauce(again, tasty straight out of the bottle), but mixed half and half with water. Hence, again, no flavor. Such a waste…

We went there because we had a coupon for a buy one get one free pizza or 50% off of one pizza. The bar décor was rock-and-roll and the temperature was a bit chilly, but I could see how it would warm up packed with people. My husband ordered the Wake up and Smell the Garlic pizza($ 16) and I ordered the Greek pizza($ 16). Although there was only one other table ordering food, it took almost an hour to get our pizzas. When they arrived, the cheese covering the pizzas was dark brown – almost burnt – making it very difficult to distinguish the toppings. That said, my husband could make out the mushrooms on his pizza, which are not listed as an ingredient on the pizza he ordered. The server took our pizzas into the kitchen and returned with only mine, as the other pizza was not what my husband ordered. She said the cooks were probably«stoned» and apologized for the mistake. Given that it took almost an hour to receive the pizzas, we canceled the remake of his pizza. Note: They serve gluten free pizza crust as an option. I don’t know that I would trust the cooks to serve a gluten free crust given that they are too stoned to make a regular pizza. The pizza, aside from the cheese being almost burnt, was the worst pizza we have ever eaten. The toppings had little flavor and the crust was lousy. The should remove the word«gourmet» from the pizza description and lower the prices. The wine was expensive. The service was good. I think they should arrest the owner for murdering our pizza and taking our money.

Wow worst service ever. Can’t even review this place. Bitch waitress dropped off drinks then menus and never returned. They weren’t even busy. Fuck this spot don’t waste your money.

Not very busy when we arrived. The table and chairs are great! The chairs are these thick cushioned law office type chairs. The music was low and most of the people were sitting at the bar. The bartender came over quickly and provided the menu. We ordered the Habanero wings and the crispy chicken slider and the burger with bacon and peanut butter slider. The wings were AWESOME!!! The sliders were meh… the peanut butter did not contrast as much as I would have liked with the bacon… not enough of a salty contrast. The crispy chicken was standard…

Cannot wait to review this place! And not because it was good. Boyfriend and I had an Entertainment coupon for Stonegate, so we were stoked to use it. Show up. Sit down. Wait forever to even be noticed. Waitress finally walks over and goes, «Do you want menus?» Uh… Yep. It is dinner time and you are a pizza place, right? Taco salad was fine. They could have used something other than head lettuce, but whatever. Another long wait for the $ 16 pizza. It was really small. Their menu doesn’t offer choices of size, so I guess you’re supposed to order more than one. The pizza was not awesome. It was bland and the crust was way too thin. It also ripped the roofs of our mouths. It desperately needed salt. After we’d already started eating, the waitress brings us some plates. The waitress didn’t bring cheese or red pepper shakers, but I could see them behind the bar. I would have asked for them if she’d ever returned to ask us how the pizza is. It sucked. Here was the worst part that left us really angry. They wouldn’t honor our coupon. The wording on the coupon was, «Buy 1 dinner/lunch entrée, get one free, OR get one pizza half off.» Great! We not only got an «entrée» salad, but we also ordered a pizza. So, one way or the other, we should have been fine. Nope! The waitress said that you either had to get two ENTREES(pizza doesn’t count?) or two pizzas and the second pizza would be half off. So, basically… We were punished because they messed up the wording on their coupon. Way to go, Stonegate! We won’t be back. And we really shouldn’t have paid nearly $ 40 for a mediocre salad, pizza, and three drinks(2 beers, 1 coke).

They have some of the best Pizza in town. When they opened and for about 6 months their service was slow but has steadily improved. A must try is the Cheesy Bread, yum.

Avoid this place like the plague. Met a few friends there, after ordering our drinks we waited 20 minutes for them to finally show up. Had our dinner order taken and waited an hour and ten minutes for two Arco gas station quality sandwich’s. As I went to the restroom I crossed paths with the cook as he exited the kitchen with a piece of pizza in hand and one hanging out of his mouth. It’s no surprise that there were about 15 people in the whole place on a Friday night. Do yourself a favor, keep driving and spend your money anywhere else.

Stonegate is a party place! I flew up from Texas for my friend’s 40th birthday and we went here for drinks. The music was loud and the beverages were strong. The owner boozed it up with us and he is one cool guy. We had some drinks with Stroh 80, a 80% rum(160 proof). He also introduced us to the Vapor Lock, brilliant hardcore cocktail. Beware the habanero rum, it is a killer. We also had some excellent wings there too. We would have stayed for pizza, but my friend was walking down the street backwards. Odd night. You want an interesting night? Buy two Vapor Locks, offer one to the owner(Jeff?) and ask him to show you how it’s done. Jeff, if you see this, remember to keep the habanero rum away from those big shot glasses.

This«Restaurant», and I use the term loosely, is an absolute joke, and an even worse waste of money ! The décor is in fact interesting, but the service is non-existent. Watched 3 parties leave at 4pm on a Saturday due to «no» service or acknowledgement. Three(3) initial selections of food were«not available». The pizza was a tasteless joke — Frozen Tony’s is actually better. «Italian Sausage Sandwich» — at $ 9.00 — Forget It — could have made better for around $ 1.50 total. AND, to top-it-all-off, the owner was standing around, obviously uninterested ! The so-called Rum Bar is a joke. Like I said the décor is «interesting», but if you truly want to p-ss $ 50.00 plus down the toilet, then go ahead. Once, was truly enough !

We went there on a Wed night. The bartender was managing the bar and the tables. She was outstanding. She even nicely explained our pizza would take longer than others due to the ingredients. Even then, it didn’t take all that long. We didn’t order alcohol but she still kept our drinks refilled promptly. A band started playing later. The Rum bar was uniquely decorated. Parking on the street is tough, but we parked in the back without problems. They had a large selection of one of a kind pizza’s, among other non-pizza menu items. The pizza we ordered was the meat-lustra. Very tasty and perfectly crispy thin. I would definitely go back again.

Came in to use our living social coupon and were very pleased. Our server was quick on the spot and my drink was never empty. The angry Hawaiian pizza was light, thin and De-lish. Only draw back, for a rum bar I was hoping for a new rum concoction, no such luck. But between our server and the bartender taking the time we came up with new drinks. Pretty cool, we will come back.

With 3 venues in one(bar, restaurant, concert space) and wicked-cool artwork just about everywhere you look, the Stonegate really stands out in Tacoma. Good food + good beer + good music = good times! Went in for a concert this past Saturday, and the place was packed! The ‘rock loft’ is a pretty sweet little concert venue. Came back yesterday for dinner: the Bacon Cheddar Ciabatta Burger w/waffle fries($ 9) really hit the spot. Haven’t tried the pizza yet, but I’ll be back for that soon! I’ve been in for happy hour a few times– generally uncrowded and laid back. Most recently I enjoyed having drinks with some classic heavy metal on the speakers and a Science Channel show about giant jellyfish on the large projection screen(sports on the smaller screen over the bar). The staff and the patrons were all very friendly, too. I do think the bartender could have used some help though: service was a bit slow as he was doing bartender/waiter/busboy/etc by himself. With 8 tap handles and lots of bottles/cans, Stonegate has a pretty decent beer selection. There’s also a full bar that specializes in rum. For fun & games there are two dart boards, a pool table, and a ping-pong table in the restaurant area.

I am very reluctant to write bad revues of a place but this time I felt like it was important to share. We went in there on a Saturday afternoon to watch a playoff game have a few drinks and chow some food. Unfortunate for us none of this happened. The bartender(super nice guy, his first day on the bar) was all by himself trying to handle a packed house for drinks and food… THEWORSTPARTABOUTTHISWASTHATTHEOWNER!!! YES!!! THEOWNERWASTHERE, standing at a table talking to people with his arms crossed, while we and all the other people sitting around us waited 20 minutes to get one beer. I would like to review the food but it was obvious that that wasn’t going to happen. I have to give it to him he did get drinks for his friends table but as for the rest of the packed bar, we were all dry. I can not imagine that it was not obvious to the owner that the poor bartender was struggling and that his guest(the ones other than his friends at 1 table out of 20 full tables) were suffering. Some people go in to the restaurant business with this good idea and great intentions but don’t really realize what it takes to actually make and run a successful food/beverage joint. THISISONEOFTHOSETIMES… If the owner is this slack on service I would hate to see how slack he is on proper food handling practices. As I rub the crystal ball I can see your future””””””””“Grand Opening, Not So Grand Closing!!!”
