Fantastic thin crust, good veggies, and cheese is just the right amount of greasy. However, the chicken was rubbery and inedible. Our server was overwhelmed with a lunch rush on a Saturday, so we ended up needing to walk to the bar to get our water and sodas refilled. I loved having popcorn while we waited!

Honestly, I can’t get over the fact that there was popcorn in a restaurant. It was microwaved. And the pizza is thin crust and the dough wasn’t fresh. Depressing atmosphere and staff is not friendly. I doubt I’ll be back. Pizza isn’t good at all.

I love this pizza. The crust is unreal. Although it is a bit greasy and the tomatoes sauce is a bit overzealous, I love it. This is Tacoma’s best pizza.

Wow. This place is amazing. I signed up for Unilocal just to leave this review. It’s a tavern, beer and wine only but who cares. They have the best pizza crust. But only the last 2 inches.(But that’s what she said.) The sleeper here is the garlic cheese bread. Money! Staff are Super cool and always smiling or trying to dance to the 70/80s music over the elevator style speakers. Cloverleaf has been around since 1950 hard to find nostalgia like that anymore. Just a place you want to roll up in your 70 Pontiac GranPrix SJ and watch the feathered haired, Jordache wearing ladies walk out while they toss a Benson and Hedges in the gutter and blow you a kiss. Fan for life. Boom!(Drops Mic) I might add I did have my wedding rehearsal dinner here in October 2015 and everything went flawless. Great service, food, and laughs had by all.

The facility is nice and generally clean. Can even bring the fam to dine. The crowd is a little older. The staff isn’t easy on the eyes but they’re friendly enough and the pizza is ridiculous. Seriously amazing. Top two or three pies in the city. The cheeseburger pizza especially. If you like pizza and haven’t been to the CL go soon.

After years of hearing about Cloverleaf and finally turning 21, I had to see for myself what all the fuss was about. And what a day to choose for your first time, Seahawks Sunday. I was just glad my friend and I found a seat. Not 1 person was wearing normal clothing, it was a sea of blue and green. This was great because the energy was up and since the Hawks won, the whole place was happy! – Now more importantly, the pizza. I had the White Sauce Chicken pizza which was mouth watering. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, holding up all that white and chicken flavor. I can’t say that I wish I would have gone sooner, because it is 21+. So if you aren’t old enough, send someone who is in to get a pizza pie and you won’t be sorry!

Best Pizza in Tacoma? Really? I was underwhelmed by the cheese pizza I ordered. Greasy crust, crusty cheese and the only way to stomach it was to use the ranch I had from Rock Pasta. I was really looking forward to «world famous pizza” – NOT!

Had a graduation party for my daughter who just finished college and we had a group of 27. The pizzas were perfect and dekicious, service was excellent. Will definitely come back

My boyfriend and I recently moved to the area and we’re looking for a good pizza place. This may or may not be it. I’m not fully committed yet. The service was ok. The pizza was ok. Nothing really jumps out at me and makes me want to come back. We ordered the house favorite pizza and the sausage was delicious but the pizza altogether was incredibly greasy. So greasy the crust sagged in the middle and remained super crispy on the edges. The crust is different than any other crust I’ve had but not better. Lots of beers on tap and the 21+ section had a somewhat«dive» atmosphere. We waiting a long time to get our check and I’m still not sure if we will be back.

It’s like walking straight into Tacoma circa 1982. Wood paneling. Formica bar. Really good pizza! Thin crusted with a delicious sauce and just the right amount of toppings. It’s definitely distinct and delicious. Expect a wait though. Never had a pizza in less then 35 minutes there, even when they’re not that busy. Pro tip: Order in. The nice crunchy crust gets soggy PDQ which takes away much of the pleasure.

From my kid: The only reason I go is the arcade machines. Pizza takes forever to come out and it’s crusty and crunchy(not good).

Came in about 1pm on a Friday(Aug 14). We seated ourselves and it took the server a half hour to come over and offer us anything. She took our order and offered us popcorn while we waited for our food. We ordered an appetizer(nachos), a patty melt, and a reuben. Another 20 minutes goes by and only our drinks had arrived. No popcorn, no refills on the drinks… Five minutes later the nachos come out and the server basically told us she was too busy and forgot our popcorn, and did not offer us drink refills. We ate our nachos, and about 10 minutes later our sandwiches were ready. The server left the dishes we were done with at the table(which was about 1.5 square feet so not huge), and again did not offer refills or anything. Took us about 15 minutes to eat our food, and then about another ten minutes for the server to come back and clear the table. Only then did she offer us a refill on our drinks– when we were done with our meal, an hour after we’d had our first drink. She just kept apologizing for being so busy, like that was a reason to be inattentive– she had plenty of time to tend to all the other customers, as well as a party of six seated right next to us. The reuben and patty melt were good, but the service was crap. Wouldn’t go here again.

The pizza here is just awesome. Yes, it’s different… it’s like a mix between thin crust and deep dish. It’s very crispy and«crunchy» and for me, I like that, a lot! But it’s not for everyone and I can understand that… I love this pizza, it’s really unique, the bartenders are awesome, and it has really cold beer which is a huge plus to me watching a game or on a hot day!

Found out about this place by reading a FaceBook post by Doug Baldwin(Seattle Seahawks) asking about the best pizza in the Seattle area. The Cloverleaf was mentioned many times so I decided to check it out. GREAT pizza! I would definitely recommend and will be back again.

By far my favorite pizza. When I am in Tacoma I try and find time when I can to pick up a pizza. For pizza it’s not the quickest as it usually takes 30 – 35 minutes but sometimes things are worth the wait. Recommend calling in ahead if your in a hurry, but if you want a good pizza with a great and unique crust, this is your place! It’s my favorite in Washington

I was introduced to The Leaf years ago… It quickly became my go to joint for Pizza. Sure, the wait may be longer than you would like but that’s what beer and bowls of popcorn are for right? My favorite is the«Monster» and frankly I don’t think I will ever order anything else when I go here. Moved to Virginia a couple years ago and my quest for a replacement has been met with nothing but disappointment. Every time I go back to visit family and friends in the area I make a run to the Leaf for dinner. In fact, it is already scheduled for next Thursday!

Great pizza! Had pizza in many countries in Europe. Closest to Southern Italian style you are going to find. Great beer choices and popcorn while you wait!

In my opinion the Cloverleafs pizza is best when ordered as a small or a mini. When you order a larger size the crust get soggy ruining the whole experience. The sauce is nothing to speak of, so the magic is really in the crust. I’m a purist, and stick with a simple cheese and tomatoes mini — it’s delicious! Going for a bigger pie with more toppings has always been disastrous. My recommendation is to eat your pizza in house as well, delivery hasn’t been so great. Cloverleaf is an icon, and it’s pretty tasty pizza — for Tacoma.

I was excited to try out this pub with all the good reviews, but I found it less enthusiastic as other Unilocalers have commented. Our party ordered a variety of individual to shared pizza sizes. I really liked the option of individual sized pizzas which is about the size of a side plate. We each ordered a side salad to go with our meals. The pizza was average tasting. Nothing dazzled my tastebuds and I compared it similar to frozen pizzas. Side salads were average too which a handful of lettuce croutons and dressing of choice. I really liked this local pub offers section for 21+ and the other part of the building, which cannot be seen by the other side, is open to all ages offering families.

I ordered it up and it arrived luke warm at best, and tossed all over the box like the driver was hitting corners at 60. I called to talk to someone about it, and a Jeremy answered. Rude, and did not want to hear or help anything. The pizza could have been a better, but the service? Not even close. So much so that I created this Unilocal profile to address this issue.
