X WAX

After intense research I decided to give the place a try. It was a great decision on my part. Dani is super friendly and knowledgeable and so professional. The atmosphere is very chic and clean. I am excited for my eyebrow journey and so grateful for a wonderful wax experience! I will definitely be back and recommend to others! I also got a Brazillian and it was done so tastefully and Dani made me feel so at ease and comfortable. I am so happy I found this place!

I followed Sheena from her previous location. As always still so happy with my eyebrows. Sheena takes the time to make sure the brows are on point, and she take her time, which I appreciate.
For anybody new, call and make an appointment. You won’t be disappointed.

Sheena did an absolutely OUTSTANDING job. Hands down the best experience I have ever had with my eyebrows. Her attention to detail was great. She took her time continually checking her work and making sure I was happy along the way. She helped me pick the correct shade for my eyebrows and it’s perfect. It was $ 37 for the wax and tint. The wax itself did not irritate my skin, it was a light pink. I will most definitely becoming back and doing other services as well!

Always perfect service. Always tasteful. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. Worth every penny (and this is from one super picky reviewer!).

We don’t call her «Sheena The Great» for no reason. Totally addicted to this girl and her skills and have recommended countless people to her. Sheena has a cult following that will commute any distance to see her. I love getting a tint as well as — tinting frames my face and transforms my makeup. The tint also looks great when going with a natural face.

I’m upset to have to change my rating but my recent communication experience with them has left me wanting to go elsewhere. The studio recently unveiled online booking, which I used (and received a confirmation of my appointment) but when I arrived to the studio no one was there. I called them to schedule thinking maybe it was an issue with the online booking system but when I called to make an appointment I never got a call back.
Its a bummer because I have only had amazing experiences at X-​wax and I love my brows whenever they do them. I just want them to be there when my appointment is scheduled or get a call back when I call. :(

I am really pleased with the ladies at xwax… I have been going to them for the past 5 months and I must say I love how my eyebrows have grown. I started out with a lady who no longer works there, but DANI Stepped in and did a wonderful job. Very friendly staff. I’m leaving Washington state and am really gonna miss these ladies and the wonderful work they’ve done on my eyebrows.

Love this place! I recently moved from California and have been looking for a new place to get my brows done. After searching for a few months I stumbled upon this place and am so happy I did! I see Amanda but all the girls there seem great. Love the time and detail she puts into my brows each time I’m there.

I’ve called to make an appointment 3 – 4 times these last 2 weeks & it’s always gone to voicemail after the second or third ring. I leave my contact information & name but have yet to even get a response back from any of them. Kind of disappointed.

This was the best waxing experience of my life! Thank you, Dani, for rescuing my brows and educating me about my options. Growing out over waxed brows is a paaaain, but the ladies have me so excited for the end result. I am an X Wax girl for life!

When I made the decision to leave the state I became accustomed to I thought about how I would have to leave my amazing hair stylist and brow artist. lol
With that being said, when I finally moved here I made a bad decision. That bad decision was to go to the Tacoma Mall «Brow Art» studio to get my eye brows done for about 4 – 5 months. Long story short my once perfect eye brows became a hot mess in a short amount of time.
In contrast, I began searching the internet for a talented brow artist, because let’s be honest ladies– brows make your whole look. I came upon Kristen and Amanda’s amazing reviews on Unilocal and Facebook. After I seen the before and after pictures I was sold! I promise you this studio will not let you down; Kristen’s work is consistent. In addition it is evident that she is extremely passionate about not only her work but her customers. If I could give 10 stars I would. :)
Oh and people please be on time for your appointments! These ladies are always booked, but that is awesome. It only shows that they are awesome at what they do.

There is nothing pleasant about getting a Brazilian… but honestly this was THE best experience. Even at 9 months pregnant (yikes) they cleaned me up like a boss and I’m definitely recommending this place to everyone I know. I also feel that their pricing is so reasonable! Ask for Kristen, she was amazing and super friendly!

LOVE X-​WAX! Kristen is the BROW QUEEN. She’s done a fantastic job on my brows and I go back regularly because no one does better brows!

I’ve been on the hunt for someone who could get my brows looking really great, but still natural and not over-​shaped. This is the place! X Wax was referred to me by three different girl friends, and I was not disappointed. Amanda took the time to explain to me their method for determining brow shape on each individual and showed me how they would apply that with my brows. The end result is fantastic! I can even go a little longer in between waxes because they aren’t over-​shaped, showing less of the grow back right away. Highly recommended!

I went in for my first visit today. Kristen was excellent! I was grateful for her time and exceedingly pleased with my brow shape and color. I booked for the next appointment already and look forward to perfect brows again! I appreciated most the time that was spent making sure I looked perfect walking out the door… including concealer so I left without glowing red brows.

Experts working in a zen-​like environment here make waxing a relaxing experience. I have great confidence in Amanda, and that makes it worth spending $ 25 to get my eyebrows done. There is no shortage of cheap places to get a wax, but do you want spooky skinny or crooked brows? I’m too scared to try that, so I will keep going back to X Wax. It smells great, it’s a beautiful and sunny space, and they know exactly what they’re doing. This is a clear case of getting what you pay for!

Best waxing in Tacoma, hands down. Have seen Kristen for 2 years and recommended her to many of my friends. Do yourself a favor and get your brows in here!

I’ll try to make this review straight forward. In my opinion X Wax studio is the best place you can go to for your waxing needs and here’s why:
1) TECHNIQUE: Anyone can wax brows but it’s critical that the esthetician knows how to SHAPE your brow accordingly to your face, and that’s where X Wax studio really shines. After the owner Kristen showed me how my brows should grow and what she was going to do to properly shape them, I can’t believe how better my brows look, actually my whole face. Having the right brow shape can actually make you look younger and it gives your eyes more pop. I can’t stress this enough, X WAX studio knows how to properly shape the brows and it’s amazing how the right brow shape can dramatically transform your face for the better!
2) CUSTOMER SERVICE: I’ve been seeing Kristen for 6 months now. She goes above and beyond to let her customers knows she cares about them. I recently had to cancel an appointment because I had a sick child at home. They were so understanding, didn’t make me feel bad for canceling and let me know I could re schedule at any time. BUT what really amazed me was two days later, Kristen (the owner) actually called me to see if my child and I were okay! Because of this I can honestly say the owner is not only a great esthetician but a great person too.
I’ve never had any problems scheduling appointments, they have ALWAYS returned my calls in 24 hours or less. Also in regards to their waxing, they go will always let you know what they plan on doing before they do it. My first appointment with Kristen, she went into detail how she wanted to shape my brows but made sure I was okay with what she wanted to do first. They always take time to make sure you understand what they are doing.
3) CLEANLINESS: The studio is not only pretty chic looking it’s also immaculately clean. I’ve seen them sanitize and clean their instruments (tweezers, scissors) many times, which is always nice to know that they stay on top of being sanitary and hygienic.
4) They use high quality instruments and products.

A good artist can see loveliness in anything. Meet Kristen Carrington your very new best (waxing) friend. She is a gorgeous fashion maven, who has years of experience under her belt, owns a lux, modernly chic salon that rivals any metropolitan hotspot, has a wicked sense of humor, is cultured, and believe it or not; you’re going to fall in love with her.
There are many things to admire about Kristen. I will choose to elaborate on my two favorites. Firstly, she has an old fashioned honesty that you only find in the people nearest and dearest in your life. She tells you like it is. If you’re an over plucking, body hair abuser she will surely call you out on it, but offer you the best solutions to get you through it. Think of her as your waxing sponsor, who will hold your hand while you piece your body hair back together. The second best thing about Kristen? She loves finding the beauty in everything. She will make you your best self by taking the attributes you were born with and shape them into something you’ve only drooled over on other people.
My husband can’t stop gushing about my eyebrows. He will stare at me and say how she has only enhanced my existing beauty (no you can’t clone him, he’s mine forever). In six short months, she has transformed my eyebrows and I couldn’t be happier.
X Wax is easily the trendiest beauty spot in Tacoma for very good reason. Now get off the computer and make your appointment already!
