Three stars is as good as it gets in Taft. The Caprice has been the «best» motel in Taft for at least 30 years. Right now there’s a boom in the local oil fields, and the means that the Caprice is usually full. The only comparable motel near Taft is the Maricopa 8 over in Maricopa, but that’s 4 or 5 miles away.
I’ve stayed at the Caprice perhaps 40 times in the last 30 years (I go up to Taft for model airplane contests). Over time it’s had different owners and managers, but they’ve all been mostly okay and the place has been passable.

Taft had very limited hotel accommodations. This is the best hotel in Taft it’s older but newly remodled and the rooms are small but nice. The beds are hard and can be uncomfortable for one that likes soft down beds. It is kinda expensive as far as medicore hotels go. But it was full every night we stayed there. The tv selection is very limited so plan on reading more than watching tv. it’s located right in the center of town so its really convenient.
