Safeway

I have never reviewed a grocery store before… this feels odd. I’m going for it!!!
I need to commend the cashier Aubrey for her outstanding customer service. I visit this store approximately five days a week and she’s usually there and always helpful and nice to me. I’ve even seen her go above and beyond for other customers and she’s always friendly with a smile. I’ve never had that great of service at a grocery. Ever. I would hire the biz out of her!
Never going to another grocery store in this area!
I just wish they had more fresh produce. But this is Tahoe and they did truck that stuff up a mountain so I can’t really complain. And it’s the same story at all the other places anyway.

In short: It’s a small Safeway that packs a good punch in the «popular brands» department.
Should you try it? Yes — if it’s close!
Ambience: Very small grocery store, but provides lots of great fresh items.
Service: Generally what you’d expect from a grocery store. The staff at Safeway are usually very friendly and helpful when called upon.
Location: This location is great for Tahoe City, Dollar Point, and all of Carnelian Bay.
3 Key Tips:
1) If it’s cold, watch out for ice in the parking lot!
2) The experience will be better if it’s less busy — so avoid the rush if you can :)
3) You can buy firewood here in the winter!

I am writing this review to set the record straight about Evelyn, a cashier at Safeway in Tahoe city. It was brought to my attention that there was a very nasty review written about Evelyn. After reading this horrible review it seemed to me it was not so much a review, but more a personal attack on Evelyn. This person could have easily gotten her point across without using people’s names. Verbally bashing and slandering people on a public site, in my opinion is very immature and shows this person’s true character.
Anybody that goes into Safeway on a regular basis knows Evelyn. She has worked for the Safeway corporation, in many different locations for over 25 years, that in itself should say something. She has had numerous A+ secret shopper reviews. She rarely calls in sick, she’s always on time and to my knowledge treats everybody that comes into her store and through her line with the up most respect. The fact that this person accused Evelyn of being racist in any way, is absolutely absurd! I find it extremely disrespectful and very immature to judge somebody and assume so much about them based only on her negative attitude walking into that store. There where so many other ways this could’ve been handled. Instead of being a little crybaby and going on a public site and writing lies and horrible things about people she doesn’t even know.
Maybe talk to the manager next time.
To conclude my review, I suggest you go into Safeway in Tahoe city, do your shopping. Go to Evelyn’s line to check out your groceries. I guarantee that she will make you laugh and you will leave with a smile on your face.
