Delicious! Lots of vege options. The island sushi roll and the pan bagnat sandwich are my favorites!

This place is fantastic! The Leaf Eater is my favorite sandwich. My mother and I went today and split one. They marinate the onions in this delicious vinegar and then add greens, tomato, avocado and homemade pesto. It’s so good. I crave this sandwich all year. The Thai iced tea is delicious, you can order it with cream or almond milk. Last year I got the coconut tapioca pudding and the potato Marsala to take home. Both were delicious. This year I got the tiramisu and a sushi roll to take home. Haven’t tried them yet but I’m sure they are going to be awesome. All of it is fresh and homemade. Also the people behind the counter are some of the friendliest people I’ve met up here. Very knowledgable and helpful.

Uncommon Kitchen is a hidden gem in Tahoe City and offers some of the best organic and locally sourced food around. I’m always amazed by the quality of their food and the flavors that their talented chefs are able to bring out. If you are looking for a great place to grab lunch make sure to give Uncommon Kitchen a try, you will not be disappointed.

I gotta say that being a vegan for a couple of decades in a great foodie city like San Francisco makes me skeptical about vegan offerings outside of any majour City. This place smacked some humility into me. I tried the Leaf Eater to go. First bite: Wow, this is good! Last bite: OMG, I wish I was hungry enough to eat another one!(while licking the paper the sandwich was wrapped in… seriously!) The place is awesome and the people seemed pretty cool. I’ll be back when I’m in the area again. I’m still skeptical about sushi(vegan or otherwise) at 6000 ft above sea level but I may give it a try!

Came here at the suggestion of someone who lives in Tahoe City. She said the Uncommon Kitchen is one of the few healthy places to eat in town. Wow this place was pretty neat — tucked away at the back corner of a health food store. Hard to decide what to get but I was so hungry I was sure anything would taste good. Ended up ordering the Hot and Sour Rice Noodle Bowl with chicken. The chicken was sparse but the broth was salty and flavorful. I would definitely come back and try more. The daily special was a meatball sandwich and the guy sitting a few chairs down made it look so delicious.

Great little food counter in a natural food store but the vegan options are pretty limited on the weekends. Came in for a late lunch and there was pretty much only one sandwich that could be modified to be vegan. The hot food/bowls weren’t available on weekends so that was our only choice. That said, the sandwich(Leaf Eater) was delicious! Probably one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a long while.

LOVE. Uncommon Kitchen has been on my list of places to visit for awhile now. I finally discovered a little bit of Uncommon Kitchen heaven at the Village at Squaw convenience store. Herbed Goat Cheese Stratta. Holy goat’s cheese goodness, that tasted amazing. I can’t wait to swing by Uncommon Kitchen in person next time we’re up.

Great Natural foods store with take out food kitchen in the back. Get to go on your way to /from the slopes. Roast beef($ 9.50) and Turkey($ 9.50 sandwiches are great. Far better than nearby Tahoe House Bakery & Gourmet. Sushi #3($ 9.95) and Thai Coconut noodles($ 6.95) hit the spot. Vegan Raw brownie($ 3.75) is super chocolaty, and Vegan Tiramisu($ 5) is good. Pretzel bread is also good.

So glad we found this gem while visiting Tahoe City. We were here only 2days and are here both! Vegetarians– try the Leafeater sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised how well each ingredient worked together into a heavenly sandwich! Hummus, basil pesto, marinated red onions, cucumbers, greens, avocado… so amazing. I will dream about this sandwich until I come back next year! Everyone was friendly and the food is fresh. Give them a try!

This is THE true lunchtime gem of Tahoe City/West Shore. Great ingredients and recipes and a diverse and creative international menu will make your belly happy. I go there all the time, but never tire of items like the various sushi rolls, Coconut Curry Noodle Bowls, Pad Thai, Cheesesteak sandwich, Falafel on fresh pitas, or Khao Soi. Try their fresh kombucha, or chai tea, or pesto-provolone baguettes. The great chefs and helpers behind the counter are friendly and capable– they routinely answer customer questions about ingredients, food allergies, etc. They get busy around lunch time, so call ahead or give yourself 15 minutes if you just show up.

It’s a hidden gem on the west shore of lake tahoe. Once you find it, I promise you will go back for more of Doug and Dawn’s delicious dishes. Sushi? they’ve got you covered. Sandwhiches on freshly made bread? they’ve got it. Soup? check. Tacos? most days of the week they’ve got you. In sum, they have a wide array of meals, from Indian to Asian to A la Stony!

A great novel and healthy place to grab lunch. I feel that the value for money is pretty low. But there some good things here that you won’t find anywhere else.

Yummiest vegan options at the Lake! Rawco rocks, check it how to make it on YouTube. Lentil Dahl is another fav of mine, also the kombucha on tap. Nice people, been loving the whole store & Kitchen for decades. Thank you for your gifts of healthy food at Tahoe.

Most importantly: they stop serving hot food in the afternoon! I came here for dinner but by the time I got there I could only get sushi. I was disappointed because this was one of the few places that had good vegetarian choices in the area but they were no longer serving any of those. That being said, the guys behind the counter were really nice and cheery, and the sushi roll was quite large and I thought the sauces were really good. I would definitely recommend coming for lunch since there’s a bigger selection.

It’s some of the most amazing sushi and sandwiches you will ever taste… BUT it takes forever to make the food and the people have a stand offish energy that work there. Just remember, no customer no business!

Had a great late lunch here today. So many choices and a great grab n go area! There are a few picnic tables outside in the sun; perfect way to spend an afternoon meal!

I love New Moon, but try to avoid Uncommon Kitchen. Food is overpriced and ok at best. They never change their menu which makes no sense considering they have fresh seasonal produce in store and I’ve never had a good customer service experience from them. Too cool for school or something, lighten up. Not chill vibes at all.

I can’t believe the reviews that pick this place apart. The sheer volume of what they turn out of a teeny tiny kitchen behind New Moon Healthfood Store in Tahoe City is simply extraordinary, not to mention their amazing variety of offerings. I’ve been eating their food for about 10 years and thank god they exist up here in hotdog, hamburger and fried___(fill in the blank) world of Tahoe terrible food. There are so few options for vegetarian/vegans that are healthy and well-produced from quality ingredients. This is your answer. Love the Death Valley roll, the seaweed salad, the couscous, the layered pesto cheese spread, the soba noodle salad w Thai peanut sauce, the choc mousse, the tiramisu, the coconut tapioca. I could go on :() Outstanding and Uncommon Kitchen!

They are in the back of New Moon Natural Foods. They have house-made bread that is sometimes still hot out of the oven. Here’s the Oatmeal Molasses Whole Wheat: I tried the vegan Tiramisu: :meh. It’s more like a date-flavored mud pie, so, really, not anything even remotely like Tiramisu. But, the house made kombucha is consistently outstanding.
