Awesome nursery!!! We bought several trees from them last month. The folks behind the counter were super helpful with the decision making process of what to buy, and where to plant them. We planted our new trees ourselves(digging holes in Tahoe is really tough!), and so far they’ve survived! What’s more, they have great prices on everything from trees to shrubs, and flowers. This is a great place to buy Tahoe themed gifts too(if you’re in the market). Thanks guys!

We stopped into this nursery and gift shop while we were touring around Tahoe City. Seems to be it would be hard to run a plant selling business up in Tahoe due to the seasonal changes, like in the winter, no one is gonna be buying plants to plant outdoors! But this place has been here for awhile. The grounds are quite large and even includes a grassy area and gazebos that seem set for wedding events. I think you can rest out the place for that. But there are tons of plants and shrubs and trees for sale as well as all the tools and bags of soil that most nurseries carry. The prices seem a bit high, but it’s Tahoe. The main building is a gorgeous log cabin 2 story building that houses the gift shop and rest rooms. I hear there used to be a small sandwich deli here, but no more. They carry all kinds of hanging things that make dinging sounds noises for you home. The outdoor area is almost park like in the setting, so totally unlike the nursery department at Home Depot. The nice gift shop I heard will be closing at the end of the summer season and the nursery grounds will be cut back due to the economic times. Visit while you can this summer if you are in the Tahoe City area.

** this review is for a wedding at Tahoe Tree Company ** I was married at Tahoe Tree Company in September 2014, and it was the perfect location. Amazing venue, beautiful scenery and wonderful people to work with. The flow of grounds is great for ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner to reception. The space is so big people can dance the night away in the lodge at the reception, or hang outside(we were blessed with great weather, but had heaters on hand just in case). A few months later, friends and family are still talking about how much they loved the venue. We looked at a lot of venues, and we’re so glad we went with TTC. We highly recommend it for anyone looking for a perfect Tahoe location for their wedding. Definitely work with Sarah Thayer as your coordinator if you’re getting married anywhere near the Tahoe area. TTC will connect you to her. She is a godsend. As our day-of-coordinator, She was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the process and made all of my visions for the big day(and then some!) come to live. For those considering the venue: Photo slideshow and video of our TTC wedding The other amazing vendors we worked with: — Catering: Mountain Magic Catering – — Rentals: Eventmasters – — Photography: Rose Street Studio – — Videography: Donmichael Usog – — DJ: Rich Carlson – — Flowers: Wanda’s – — Desserts: Flour Girls – — Hair & Makeup: Urban Angels –

Drop the attitude and drop the prices. Reno’s not that far away.

Not dog friendly, should have dressed in a tuxedo for respect but i was grubby due to gardening. Lost a customer and homeowner who lives blocks away. No wonder they’re half the size they used to be. The irony of it is they though my dog, being in the car was a problem and the honking of the horn and barking was hurting their biz, they should have looked in my full cart. They lost that sale, future customers through Unilocal and many many contractors i know. Shall I list the places that allow dogs in Tahoe? post office, hardware store, petfood store, coffe shops and more but not the open air nursery! The CUSTOMERISNEVERRIGHT at this place.

This place is gorgeous and fun to visit. Their gift shop is spectacular and plump full of goodies. Products are high quality and so is the price, but hey you’re in Tahoe. I have bought the occasional annuals and rose bushes. Excellent soil and longevity of the plant is very good. If you’re looking to buy a gift for someone, this is the place.

I attended a wedding at this location in early August. While many other factors contributed to the overall perfection of this wedding, the Tahoe Tree Company venue certainly played an important role! It was easy to find and upon arrival there was a parking lot with ample space in easy walking distance to the ceremony. We were surrounded by flowers and a creek, and a couple bridges scattered around. It should be noted that wedges/flats over heels is an absolute must(there are dirt/pebbles/planks to walk through)– boys have it so easy! While the daytime is warmed by the radiant sun, once it goes down the temperatures drop quickly. Fortunately, the wedding was so well coordinated that we moved locations from the garden(ceremony), to the gazebo(cocktails), to the outdoor dining area(buffet), to an indoor dancing area as the night went on. The Tahoe Tree Company gave a beautiful memory a beautiful setting, and I hope they continue to make wedding dreams come true.

We held our daughter’s wedding at the Tahoe Tree Company last weekend, and yes, it’s as good as it gets! We’ve had two other family weddings in Tahoe and this was the best ever. Susi and the staff at Tahoe Tree Company created perfection. The site — weddings on the lawn by the gazebo, lower patio for dining and the nursery itself for dancing — is to die for from every angle. Our guests can’t stop talking about it… and some even went back Sunday to buy garden goodies from their wonderful offerings before they returned home!

I’m leaving a bad review, even though I have been buying trees and plants from the Tahoe Tree Company for about 8 years. I am so disgusted by a recent experience that I really want people to be warned. Although the TTC trees and plants are usually more expensive than the stores in Reno, they are also usually high quality and sometimes more unique than the flora offered elsewhere. As part of a landscaping project, my husband and I were very excited to purchase 5 trees from TTC costing $ 924, with plans to add more in another month or two. We live just a few minutes away from the Tahoe Tree Co. and my husband has a truck for transportation. However, we were told when we bought the trees that we could have them delivered at a cost of $ 45/hour, with a minimum charge of one hour – e.g. $ 45. We figured the TTC would probably better handle/care for the trees in transit, and considering the cost of such beautiful trees, this seemed well worth $ 45. We confirmed that the minimum charge would be $ 45, and I signed a form to charge the expense to my CC after delivery. With their specialized equipment, the TTC finished delivery and digging in 1 hour, 15 minutes. Rounding the time up, I thought the total charge might be $ 90. I was shocked a day later to see that I’d been billed $ 244.47. I called and was informed by the TTC manager, Nancy, that the rate is actually $ 45 per PERSON per hour, and the job had taken 3 people.(My husband also added some potting soil and nutrients that cost about $ 40.) Had we known about this per PERSON charge, we might have had the team dig at least one hole in a challenging spot, but certainly not all of them. Still, I’d pass this off as a misunderstanding had Nancy not been VERY rude to me on the phone. After I explained the rate we’d been quoted, she said in a very flip manner that the form I signed allowing them to bill my credit card states that the charge is $ 45 per person per hour, and if I had questions I should have asked before I signed it. I explained that I had no reason to think I had questions then, since the salesperson handing me the form had just stated very clearly that the charge was $ 45/hour, with a minimum of $ 45. Normally I do read(or at least skim) forms before I sign them, but this seemed very straightforward. To this Nancy replied,(again, rudely), «Well you have questions NOW». Her premise does not logically support what I believe was her intended argument; I had no reason to doubt the truth in what I’d been told when I signed. The question only arose when I saw that I’d not been billed accordingly. After a bit more useless discussion that I’ll save space by omitting here, Nancy offered to credit $ 11 to my card, to «write off the delivery charge»(though, technically, that is a minimum of $ 45). I’m less upset about the money as the disgusting rudeness of the manager(and I’m one of those people who tends to perceive others through more«rose colored glasses» than most). I was very unhappy that Nancy did not offer a larger credit to my CC; in retrospect, I’m also surprised that she did not at LEAST offer some kind of discount on a future purchase. My husband and I have easily spent more than $ 5,000 at the TTC across 8 years, and we planned to buy some large maples later this year at $ 500 each. A discount would have ensured a purchase from us while still making a profit for TTC, and I would have at least felt that there would be some future compensation for the misleading/incorrect info that I had been given by the TTC staff. But, no, I received an $ 11 credit and a very unpleasant conversation with a curt, seemingly indignant representative of TTC. I’d like to say that I’d never buy from the TTC again, but they’re the only place I know to buy trees in Tahoe City. I will certainly seek other options whenever possible. Meanwhile, at least be warned if you buy trees here that delivery and digging charges are PERPERSON!

What a secret treat! Looking for a special enchanted place for your Wedding in Tahoe… here you just found the Golden Ring. Not only do they have an outstanding selection of plants, they have acres of gorgeous grounds, a handsome Lodge style building just crying out for«have your Wedding Party’ here! I hear there is a full time wedding counselor, planner, talent there named Susi, I think her number is 530−583−3911. I here the rates are lower than most all Tahoe areas and the scene should be in a movie. Actually, that would be a great film location… hmmm. Gazebo, bridges, walking sweet paths, flowers, lush vegetation, Tahoe evergreens, close to the Lake. I think my birthday might be heading that way. Oh, and you can rent any of the flowers, etc from the nursery to add some further lovelies for a fraction of buying them. This was a special find!

It is great to have a place to buy Tahoe-climate appropriate plants on the West Shore. I have found the service at Tahoe Tree company to be been friendly but I like the selection, staff and prices better at the Villager in Truckee.
