I love this place and all the employees here! Always friendly, and always give me the BEST french manicure gel. Thank you!

I would love to leave a full review here. However, all I have to say is that they should update their hours or something. We drove through town trying to find this place which claimed to be open until 4 on Sunday’s both on the phone and on their sign. Arriving at 1:45, we found it completely closed. Won’t be back.

Excellent job doing a repair and cutdown for long acrylics. Excellent job on the pedicure and natural nail manicure too. I rarely walk out of a salon where I am pleased with my feet. My feet were soft and my toes were painted without mistakes. The leg massage was a nice perk. I know they are expensive, hence the 4 stars vs 5, but Tahoe is a tourist town with a relatively small local population that lives there year round. I am ok paying the price for quality work when it’s done right. Their daughter is very sweet and she is studying the art of nails. This is a nice family with a strong work ethic who care about their customers.

This is my go-to nail place in Tahoe. I get gel manicures here on a regular basis and am always happy with the results. $ 35, a large selection of colors, and they last almost three weeks, about a week more than other places I’ve been. I was just in yesterday, and the male manicurist was meticulous with my cuticles and removing any excess polish. It is certainly no-frills, but I am happy paying what I do for what I get. They recently moved locations, from next to Safeway to the second level of the Bechdolt building near the Balcony hair salon. They are not as busy with walk-ins for now, so it’s easier to get in.

Probably the worst pedicure I’ve ever had. The price tag is ridiculous – I understand paying$ 45 for a mani pedi at an upscale salon, but for a place that is the bare minimum, DIRTY and smells so bad I got a headache… no thanks. The man doing my pedicure HURT me numerous times, and when I jerked away he have me an ugly look. Bummer there isn’t a better nail place near by.

I find the service here to be reliable. My gel manicures last three weeks when done here and cost far less from any other place I have ever been. The price is reasonable and the service friendly. I have seen gel nails done in other salons and they look messy. I am sticking with Unique Nails!

Just received a gel mani. I made an appointment and had to wait 20 minutes. The woman here cut my finger and did a really messy painting job. I was disturbed when she handled money and then tried to tend to my finger. This was probably the worst experience I’ve had at a nail shop.

Two stars for taking me as a walk in but I wish I went across the street. Its not clean. The Vietnamese woman that did my nails was wearing a filthy, stained Unique Nails uniform shirt over her tee shirt. She was also wearing a grubby knit hat. For the most part all the surfaces are grungy. I don’t think they’ve wiped down the nail dryer in many years. A 10 second hand massage is part of the Slam Bam nail job. I can tell that they add thinner to the polish because 5 hours later my nails are still sticky or else I got the gloppiest, sloppiest nail job in the world.(I sat at the dryer for 10 be sure). I could accept all of this except for the $ 20 price tag for a regular manicure. $ 20 is for a place of much higher standards.

Pedicure involves pushing back of cuticles, and trimming and loose cuticle. Cuticles were not pushed back, but went through the motion. Massage was painful, and had to ask twice to stop, but she did not speak English. Job was a slam bam no thank you mam job, anything but a relaxing service. $ 35.00 for 30 minutes, methinks, NOT!

Honestly I am not trying to business bash but I think everyone deserves a fair warning. If you are looking for acrylic nail do yourself a favor and move along. First of all, after the man begins to drill my nails out for a fill he tells me that they don’t do acrylics very much at this salon. Considering I made an appointment and asked for acrylics it was annoying that they didn’t mention it when I called because I would of went to a nail salon where acrylics were the norm. Throughout the appointment he second guessed my requests and flat out refused to do what I asked. For example, I told him that the glitter acrylic needed to be thicker so that the drill wouldn’t create bald spots. He didn’t listen, fucked it up and then proceeded to do what I said with a bad attitude. I’m sorry if I am paying someone to do my nails I DONOT want them to tell me the way I want my nails is not going to look good. He made simple mistakes including making my tips crooked, cut me with the drill, and talked shit about me when I went to the bathroom. He was obviously annoyed by me and my requests. In the end he charged me 45 for a fill and an experience that left a bad taste in my mouth. never again!

I have been going here since I moved 3 years ago to the Tahoe area. They do shellac mani-pedis which last incredibly long! 3 weeks longer than a typical manicure. They do awesome french tips which is all I ever get. I also get my eyebrows waxed here and they are fast, great and so reasonably priced for Tahoe!

The Unique Nail Spa is definately worth a visit. I went in for a mani/pedi and they did a wonderful job. The staff could not have been nicer.

I went to kill some time for a shellac mani, the first I ever had. Naturally living in San Diego, we have the worst nail places a typical mani lasts a few days then chips. In Boston where I’m from they do a great job, but you always had to tell them if a nail smudged while drying and have them fix it. Not here! I had a man do my mani, he did a wonderful job, he fixed my pinkie nail before I noticed it and did a wonderful job. I’m very picky, and was very happy with Unique nails. Plus the price was reasonable. One lady had a pedi while I was there and she left happy and it looked good to me. Naturally there were two other ladies getting mani’s that knew the only other two people who came in while I was there and the staff was very patient while the ladies were yapping away about private schools and bad body wave perms. Two ladies were local and the other two were from out of town.

I first came here the day of my wedding and they did a fantastic job. Being from the bay area and owning a second home nearby, I try to come here whenever we are in town. They are very nice and and remembered my name from the first time I came in. I’m picky and their work lasts longer than the mani’s/pedi’s I get in the bay area.

So disappointed! If you know north lake there are almost no mom and pop nail salons and all the resorts charge an ridiculous rate hence why I drove 25 min out of the way to Tahoe City to get a $ 45 mani/pedi but left after the pedicure. Everything started fine but after I asked 3 times for her to cut my cuticles she said she did already but I’m not that stupid so I let it go but the polish job is so bad I didn’t want her to touch my fingers… politely declined the mani and paid. I have to pay again when I get home to get the whole thing redone — my advice pay the resort fees or don’t get your nails done!
