We came on a Saturday 8:50 pm. The sign outside said they closed at 9:30. With a very disgraceful attitude they said they were close.

Never eating here again. Just threw up 12+ times from food poisoning from here. Disgusting. Do not eat here at all.

Waited 35 minutes for order to arrive in uncrowded room but left without dinner after server apparently forgot our order. Food looked good but tasted only water. Server didn’t refill that, either.

Not bad! Good Chinese food. Hubby and I are from California, so it’s not as good as back home. Definitely better than every Chinese place I have had in Florida. Very conveniently located, but don’t miss the parking lot! I had chicken lo mein and I loved it :)

High quality, great flavor and attention to the details of taste. Traditional dumplings have been a favorite of my family for three generations — and China Delight nails it. No fried dumplings — only steamed. My grandfather would be proud, and excited to know of this attention to detail.

This is the best, authentic Chinese food in tally area. If you like Americanized Chinese food, this is not for you. Very little oil, gold portion size, but they raised their prices.

Tallahassee, FL: This was my first foray into Tallahassee’s Chinese cuisine and I wasn’t impressed by the refusal to substitute the tofu for meat on the lunch special menu(a special which includes a main dish, an eggroll, and soup). The reason for the refusal: «we have to cut a new slab of tofu and we won’t do that for the lunch special.» I don’t think I’ve ever been to a place where any one refused to substitute tofu for meat when they clearly have tofu dishes in other places on the menu. After the tofu substitute snub, I went with a more expensive vegetarian choice off the regular menu. It was a pretty good tasting broccoli and fried rice dish, though it was a couple dollars more and didn’t come with an eggroll or soup. I might come back because the restaurant is close to work and the dish was a solid 4⁄5. I certainly won’t be back for the unaccommodating service.

China Delight earns 5 stars as their food quality, hospitality, speed of service, cleanliness and atmosphere is consistently all there. I’d come every 2 – 3 months or so when I lived in Tallahassee but since moving, I still find time to come here when I’m back in town. Wish I took up close pictures of the dishes but I was too caught up in good company on my last visit! So whether you’re 30 minutes away or on foot at FSU, do yourself a favor and stop by! P. S. I always order salt and pepper shrimp, twice-cooked pork, and the Peking Duck; but if you ask for Sandy or Lilly, I’m more than sure they will help pick something perfect for your appetite.

If this is the best that Tallahassee has for Chinese food, there’s work to be done. The service was decent, but it was just myself and one family in there at the time. Food quality wasn’t great, the sweet and sour chicken left much to be desired. While it was cooked plenty, about half the pieces were way too fried and hard to eat. The fried rice was tolerable but lacked flavor. Personally, I’m not a fan. At least the Dr pepper was good.

Best Chinese I’ve had in Tallahassee. Huge step up from take out places, with decent prices.

Came here on a Tuesday night and the place was empty. Only one other table was occupied while I ate dinner. That being said, the food was a few steps above mall Chinese, but it was not the best I had ever had. I wanted to try the Beef Noodle Soup, that everyone seemed to rave about in the Unilocal reviews I read, however they were sold out. Also, the staff was not very friendly and left me with the impression that I was wasting their time on such a slow night(but having worked in the bar industry, I could relate). I ordered the Combo Lo Mein and General Tso Chicken, both of which were good and traditional. All and all, I would return if I was craving Chinese food, and I’m still interested in trying the beef noodle soup. Just keep in mind that this is your«run of the mill» Chinese Food Restaurant.

How this place has an overall 4 star rating is beyond me. We ordered the Special Wonton Soup, Chicken Curry with Onions and Chicken with Cashew Nuts. Hands down, it was some of the worst Chinese food I have ever had. The soup was ok, but the entrees weren’t edible. If I had to do it over I would have sent back the entrees. The service was awful too which made for a terrible experience all way round. We went on a Saturday evening and the place was almost deserted. I should have used the context clues and headed straight for the door. Bottom line: I STRONGLY recommend staying away.

Five stars in class!(Absence of a buffet, white linen table clothes, Peking duck prepared table side(traditionally), as well as some of the more authentic fare(Cantonese, Szechuan, Hunan, and(I believe). The key here(as with many restaurants, but certainly here) is to order fewer dishes than there are diners. We were a party of 8, and six entrees would have certainly sufficed. Order 1 Peking duck. Trust me. Duck isn’t exotic and«out there» — if you’ve eaten turkey, goose, chicken or hen — this will not be stretch. Peking duck is most traditionally served across three courses. Good luck finding the three course service outside of the most major cities. It’s too much work and demand just isn’t there(or is it a supply-driven phenomenon… Who knows). China Delight prepares the duck tableside. The chef comes with his cleaver and preps it — just like countless YouTube videos show it. What’s different here from my previous Peking duck eating-fests was that his accompanying server is building up the pancake/green onion/hoisin creation for the diner. That’s ok, and perhaps its to show the diner how to go about doing it. I’ll prefer doing it myself next time we come. Other dishes on the table were a seafood combo(Szechuan style), assorted fried rices, sautéed bok choy, and a few other dishes. If the Chinese menu was previously untranslated– it is now available in English. There are a number of eye openers on it that I intend to order over the course of my future visits. Tripe, intestine, tendon and belt-fish are among some of the racier proteins that I’ll choose from. A bit less exotic are the frog legs, squid and pork bellies. After that, it’s all fairly familiar. One particular feature that I’m peevish about is the 80″ above head on the northern wall. I’ve noticed that many asian restaurants are getting TVs but I’m not sure why. This isn’t a sports bar. Perhaps it’s to accommodate those of the short attention span persuasion, but surely they’re fidgeting with their smartphones at the table. Old school, 80’s style chinese restaurant with a «222» phone number(like having a 212 in Manhattan) makes this a TLH fixture and a go-to place for good chinese cuisine(yes — any one who reads just a little bit on the subject understands that this isn’t the food they eat in China — but this is what we anticipate here!) — both the expected and the unexpected!

I followed the reviews and got the wonton soup. It was amazing! I got it to-go and they give you two huge quarts full(2 meals definitely) for only $ 8.95. It had so many veggies, shrimp, beef and wontons. The best wonton soup I’ve ever had.

The food was decent, but the experience was everything but a «delight». This was first visit, and I realize it’s possible they were busy, but that manifested itself in an extremely rude staff. I can also back up that the Wonton soup is completely spare parts.

China delight was definately the best Chinese restaurant when I lived in Tally. The owner is a Taiwanese couple who used to own a noodle house. I came here on numerous occasions for the giant beef noodle soup and some other authentic dishes. Their beef noodle soup is sooo good! They gave you those spicy pickled cabbage to go with it. Yum!!! I was surprised when they added peking duck to the menu a few years back but the duck was actually pretty decent. They have bubble tea there too. Most of my Asian friends went there at the time. As long as it is still owned by the same ppl, the food must be legit! Gotta eat there when I visit Tallahassee again!

Best Chinese food I’ve ever had… anywhere! Especially the won-ton soup and General’s chicken. Fresh ingredients, real chicken, delicious sauces. The won-ton soup comes packed with beef, shrimp, chicken, carrots, bok choy, mushrooms, onions, bean sprouts. Same two waitresses every time. Very nice ladies and quick service. And amazing prices! Love this place.

Best Chinese in town. They have a simple menu in English, but have a menu only in Chinese and won’t translate it for you. Thankfully I went with someone who knew the menu, and I highly recommend the wonton soup, it’s huge and amazing. The simple English menu delivers normal fair, but the meat is the most lean and perfectly prepared in town.

Lunch time on Cinco de Mayo so the place was not crowded. We had a group of eight. It was nice to see the owner, Alice Shaw, back in business again. She used to own the Ming Tree, sold it and it became very, very disgusting! Alice’s China Delight is clean and well decorated for such an old place.(the location has always been a Chinese restaurant– and not always good!) It looks almost new. The lunch menu is a repeat of her original lunch menu when Ming Tree first opened. I had the Mongolian Beef, spicy– hot and sour soup, along with am egg roll. Lunch was $ 7.49. Not too bad. My spicy Mongolian was not too sweet like some I’ve had. It was full of tender slices of beef, scallions over a crispy rice noodle. It was served with rice and a fried egg roll that was OK. I liked it and it will become a lunch place for me!
