Best chicken in town. Excellent sweet tea. Great customer service. A gotta try restaurant.

Although the wait can be dreadful at night when clubs are letting out, I love that this little hole in the wall makes everything fresh! The bbq wings are to dieeee for I promise.

I don’t need to write a novel to get the point across. This box of chicken inspires songs. it’s that good. Get your fries smothered.

This is actually a 4.4999(repeating) so as to round it down rather than up. Why not the five stars-in-class which it truly deserves? Simple. I need time to reconcile my snobbery of the years past when I’d smugly drive by — enjoying the fact that my superior self wasn’t subjected to what would surely be «not good». How wrong I was… Finding myself with certain pangs, I turned in to Chubbies this afternoon with the inexplicable hankering for chicken. It wasn’t the first time I made a westbound Tennessee St. right turn into the drive-thru channel, but it WAS the first time I’d completed the U-Turn maneuver back towards the order-placement microphone thingy.(I confess I’ve used this as a convenient shortcut from Tennessee to Virginia street on three occasions). Approaching the menu panel, I was presented with a good number of clearly laid out options. I respect a well structured menu. I knew, from several others sharing their Chubby joy stories on Unilocal, that a box would be a solid first foray into ChubbyLand and so I opted for the Lemon Pepper Chubby Box with lemon pepper as the sauce. As the first paragraph reveals, I can be somewhat peevish — and one pet peeve happens to be crinkle fries. I’ve consistently steered clear of them — suspecting that the crinkle cut fate was for those spuds passed over by the likes of McDonald’s, Burger King, Frito-Lay and Monsanto itself. Ok — let me reign this review in a bit and give you, dear reader, a sensible play-by-play: 1. Window service was professional, cheerful and swift. 2. Styro-box was double bagged(the heft of the box is formidable) 3. The chicken itself — and this is no exaggeration — is exceptional. To date, I’ve considered myself a Lindy’s man when it came to the fried chicken but I’ve simply never had such chickeliciousness as I did today. The sweet fragrance of the box wafted out and filled the cabin with its essence. Involuntarily, my right hand coaxed a chicken finger out of the box while the left hand handled the steering wheel. Admittedly, it was a smidge messy as it had been freshly fried and sauced — however that wasn’t going to dissuade me from just a wee nibble and then an all-out inhalation. 3a. The chicken — perfectly fried and remarkably moist — spoke to me. It said«you don’t deserve to have me — but I am a forgiving chicken tender». I had learned my lesson. 4. The crinkle cut fries? I have only had better French fries when they were fried in duck fat — so, what I’m saying here is that these fries are phenomenal. Perfectly crispy exteriors while mashed potato moistness on the interiors. Chubby’s — we have a lot of catching up to do. The problem is that I’m meeting you at a most inconvenient time — one in which I’m seeking healthier ways. I’m going to sacrifice in other areas so that you and I can do this thing. Folks — don’t just drive by, all haughty, not giving Chubby’s the time of day. Fact is, Chubby’s doesn’t need you. The cognoscenti are already going — and Chubby’s knows that if a good thing is what you seek — they’re all about giving it.

What can I say? If you like chicken and you like getting a good deal then Chubby’s is the place to go in Tallahassee! I’ve tried Zaxby’s before but wasn’t impressed due to the small portions, overcooked chicken, and high price. I saw some reviews on Chubby’s and decided to head over one night. The later you go the longer the wait for food but it’s not a big deal. First time there, I ordered the Flavored Chubby Box hoping that the tenders were worth it. Chicken is nicely covered and it seemed like a good portion size. At first I was skeptical but once I finished I was hooked. Honestly the chicken is hot and juicy and the texas toast and fries are a nice balance. It may not look like much food when you first open the box but it gets you deceivingly full. Most times I feel stuffed after I finish one. Overall, for a chicken place that cooks to order and it priced under 7 bucks it truly is a great deal for anyone. I would definitely recommend! Side note: I got the lemon pepper flavored box and they do a good job of making sure the sauce doesn’t overpower the taste of the chicken

Great for a late night snack when your feeling those hunger pains after the club or bar. Fried chicken and fried are delicious but make sure your body is ready for all that extra greasiness and fat. Also the inside of the joint isn’t very clean.

Gotta give credit where credit is due. Although Chubby’s resonates with the drunken crowd, it still remains a pretty damn satisfying meal even if you aren’t inebriated. I came here recently after a late night of work. The drive thru took about 15 minutes and the box of chicken tenders, fries and toast craved all my taste buds. FYI there’s no inside seating. Expect a wait in the drive thru or at the walk-up counter. The sauces are nearly endless. So, for people like me who can be indecisive when it comes to food, be prepared to make a snap decision. The buffalo parmesan didn’t really cut it for me. I recommend a more classic-style sauce. Again, the meals come out hot and for the most part, relatively fast. Oh, and the bill came out to $ 6.50. It can be a very dangerous game, but Chubby’s does indeed satisfy. If the chops are as good as the boxes, I’ll up the review to four stars.

I get random cravings for Chubbys wine & cheese sauce, which is the only reason why I come here really. Majority of the time they forget the extra sauce you pay for. Also be prepared to wait in the awkward drive thru for at least 20 minutes. Goddamn my female hormones.

Got the cuban chop, and expectations were met if not exceeded. Almost gotta try to go wrong with yellow rice, black beans and fried chicken with buffalo sauuuce. It was delicious and filling. Only thing, which locals probably know but I didn’t — there is nowhere to sit down and eat there, drive thru/to go only. I wish I would’ve known that walking from the Doubletree, because I was starving and had to walk back with my food. Guess you could eat in the park.

The deluxe chub box is the way to go. Ask for ranch and buffalo sauce. Their grilled chicken is great, but we won’t tell on you for getting the fried chicken instead.

Are you hammered or stoned? Do you like chicken tenders and lots of sauce? Go to chubbies and you can get chicken tenders coated in any kind of sauce known to man-kind. Warning: may shart your pants or poop liquid for 2 days after eating a box of these delicious babies

Let me just tell you this, you will not find better fried chicken in Tallahassee. While a Chubby box will do you just fine — if you have time to wait or put the thought into it ahead of time, their chicken wings are the all time best! I love the lemon pepper wings, you can call ahead and pick them up without too much wait.

We were driving down the interstate after a long weekend in universal studios in Orlando and got hungry so we decided to stop in Tallahassee for dinner. I love to eat at local places so I looked up some places in town to eat at. We wanted something quick with a drive thru. We love places like Zaxby’s and Guthrie’s so this was a no brainier for us. I ordered the original chop with buffalo sauce and a side of black beans. He ordered the chicken box also with buffalo sauce. This place is TINY but don’t let that discourage you. We went around to the drive thru and within a couple minutes we had our food and were back on the the road. The black beans taste like my mom made them(which is a great thing) and the chicken fingers were tasty and fresh. Buffalo sauce has a great flavor. Definitely try this place if you’re passing through town!!!

Seriously the best place for drunk food near campus. Nothing beats chicken, rice and toast with some of the best choices of sauce ever. Highly recommend everyone to check out this place even though it looks super divey.

I am obsessed with this place! I live in Miami but every time I come, I HAVE to stop here. The wine and cheese sauce is AMAZING! It’s a must with the original chop. Love this place.

I am a traveler… and eat at a lot of chicken places. I have found drive theough places actually put their money in their food. Execellent Buffalo Chicken Wrap with yummy fries and a cold root beer. Top it all off with a brownie, less than 10 bucks. Awesome place, awesome deal!

20 reviews, nearly 5 stars, and currently the #12 restaurant in Tallahassee? WTF is wrong with the people eating in our town? It’s a drunk-night fast food drive-thru… No, just no.

Man do I love this place!!! I always use to get the Meixcan chop with extra wine and cheese which is hands down the best thing you can eat at 2 am but this time I got the buffalo chop per my cousins recommendations and it just kicked the whole experience up like 10 notches. I added sour cream and held the beans and it was like a Mexican chop with buffalo. They’ve also upgraded the building since the last time I had it so business must be going well! Hats off to Chubby’s and their owner because its definitely become a staple and icon now in Tallahassee.
