Have tried several times and this just isn’t the pizza place for me. The sauce is very sweet. The dough under cooked each time, even though the outside crust was over cooked and crunchy. I must say the pepperoni itself is wonderful, real pepperoni. But overall… just way too sweet a sauce mixed with the underdone dough underneath.

The best pizza in town. The staff are great and personal. Pizza crust is to die for. My wife love the salads. Great gfree pizzas.

I had a great experience at this place. The customer service was great and the pizza was even better. We had a large half and half pizza(half BBQ chicken finger, half cheater), and all of the ingredients had a fresh taste. Best of all, after ordering, it only took about 15 minutes and are pizza was at our table. If you’re into beer, they have a decent variety to choose from. The slices were pretty big, so i couldn’t finish it. If you’re in the area, so yourself a favor and stop in.

Place is a little hard to find. Once i was inside the place looks really nice and staff are friendly. However, pizza here sucks. I really disliked the pizza they have, i am not sure if they have other dishes that are better but i certainly dont recommend the pizza. Ive tried many pizzas before and I know what pizza should taste like. My opinion is that this pizza is not the best and certainly not worth my money.

Dave is always consistent with his pizza and awesome customer service. Got a Gino’s famous white(my go to pie) and hot damn was it famous! The crust is buttery flaky and crisp the cheese oh lord the cheese is sinful and large chunks of fresh tomato scattered all over! They’ve got loads of toys for kids to play with, kept my toddler entertained while we waited. This pizza is like no other I’ve had and the very best. Thank you Dave for bringing your culinary masterpiece to Tallahassee!

Dave’s makes one hell of a pie! His pizza is completely unique to the pizza scene in Tallahassee and for that alone, I thank you. I went after a long day on the job last Saturday night. A few Unilocalers joined me and we had a great experience. We all ordered different pies. Mine, the Chief Chicken Finger, was absolutely delicious. Mozzarella, bacon, chicken tossed in wing sauce, onions and a drizzle of ranch. I wouldn’t change a thing. Truly excellent. I tried a slice of the Supreme and it was very good. Although, I think the Chief Chicken Finger stole the show. Overall, prices a tad higher here than a few other pizza joints in town. For a 12″ pie, one beer and tip ran me $ 23. A little high, but completely worth the price. I’m a big proponent of brick walls and arcade games, so Dave’s gets another point from me there. The pizza did take a while to come out. I’d say about 30 minutes. Other than that, we were all very impressed. Carefully-crafted gourmet pizza!

Having had Dave’s pizza for months now at Krewe de Gras after kickball games every week, I finally tried out one of their actual pizzas last night and wow! what a difference! Seriously, one of the most delicious pies I have had in a long time. The large sheet pizzas they make for events are tasty, but you had on a bunch more of their fresh ingredients and the pie is taken to a whole new level! Count me impressed!

The best pizza joint in Tallahassee. As a former resident of Buffalo, New York, I can attest to the authenticity of the pizza.

We usually go for the pizza, because it simply is the best, but we were in more of a sandwich mood today. I had the meatball sub, while my wife tried the bacon cheeseburger sub. Both were very good, but I really should have talked her into trading for«halvsies», since after I tried just a bite of hers, my mouth was jealous. Dave certainly didn’t skimp on the bacon !

Had Dave’s Pizza Garage delivered today from Penny Delivery and it was super tasty! I had the Bacon Cheeseburger Calzone and my friend had the Four Cheese calzone and both were delicious. The calzone’s crust is super buttery and resembles a croissant which makes for a really flavorful pocket of cheeses and meats. Highly recommend getting a calzone from here and I am excited to try their pizza one day soon as well!

Dave’s Pizza Garage is one of the best local pizza joints in Tallahassee. They have awesome specials, especially the $ 10 large pizza take-out deal after 8pm. Everything is fresh, made from scratch and served with a smile. The crust is crisp yet not crunchy, the sauce is extremely flavorful and the cheese… oh the cheese is so delicious. You just have to go there and see for yourself!

Great little pizza place! We got the pizza and wings, both were delicious! The crust was the perfect mix of crunchy and soft. Sauce was yummy, too! The service is great. The waitress was super nice and eager to help if we needed anything. Atmosphere was really cute and clean. We will definitely be back again.

My favorite pizza in town! Owner and staff are great. I LOVE the cheese they use and the calzones are amazing. The nubbies really are delicious; we like to get them with jalepenos. I tell everyone I know to try Dave’s!

Bottom line: Very good Buffalo-style pizza, which is distinctly different from what you may be accustomed to. Back during Q12013, we came to a brand spankin’ new Dave’s Pizza Garage. It was the first week and I met Dave who was enthusiastic about his new venture. I remember a conversation with him concerning the high quality of his mozzarella. That conversation stuck with me, because I knew that he was purposeful and deliberate in creating the pizza precisely as he expected it to be. Here’s my take on the style: Thicker than NY, thinner than Sicilian. Airy crust,(I suspect high gluten flour), Heavy on the cheese, cooked at a lower temperature for longer(I suspect around 450). Here’s what we ordered: — small sundried tomatoes, feta, mushroom, red onion. — large cheese — 4 meat calzone — Hot Cappy calzone(side of anchovies) — one order of Nubbies. Regarding the calzones — I think they presented very attractively. It looks like there might be an egg-white wash on the top, given the sheen(opinion, not fact). Regardless, the calzones are certainly the most attractive calzones I’ve seen plated in TLH. The service was outstanding. The young lady who took our order at the counter was truly delightful. Friendly, she asked several times how everything was. I could tell she took pride in being on Dave’s team. In fact, when I had initially told her we hadn’t been since opening week, she said«Oh! — you must have met Dave then! you just missed him» It’s very obvious there’s a cohesive team environment here. The décor is great. I like the feel of the place. I really do. Having a Ms. Pacman arcade game is pretty cool as well. So… Come to Dave’s. Enjoy his buffalo-style pizza. Service was good, Ambiance was good, and the Food was good. Ultimately, I think we generally prefer the pizza styles we grew up with. I appreciate Dave’s Pizza Garage, and his dedication to his hometown’s Pizza. Way to represent, Dave!

Cool setup with great pizza. Got the large Meaty Deluxe to share and ended up taking half of it home. The location and lack of visibility from the road does not make it an easy find though. Never would have known about it had I not been on Unilocal looking for pizza places

Ordered the small Meaty deluxe and 10 Hot wings. Wings were meaty and served piping hot — a little soggy but I think that was because it was a delivery order. The pizza had lots of toppings, plenty of cheese, and the right amount of sauce. Crust was just about right — not too thin and not too doughy. Only thing I would change would be to spice it up a bit — perhaps a little hotter sausage or maybe a little more herbs in the sauce just to give it a little more zip. Overall a very nice find on my Biz trip to Tally!!!

3.5 We have been to Dave’s a few times now and had something a little different each time. Their crust is thicker and doughier. I liked it the first time I went but we had one of their take out pepperoni pizza specials that was way too doughy. It seems like it depends on who is cooking that night. For my BF who spent some time in New York CIty, it is too doughy. I loved the taste of all the ingredients and so does he and that is what keeps us coming back. That said, I can see why this doughy pizza with its more bland and thick tomato sauce is a hit in this town. Way better than a chain but not«different» enough for those who have never indulged in real new york style or been to Italy. We recently ordered a cheesesteak calzone and it was great. It was a little bit smaller than we thought and they cut it in half to fit into the togo box. I liked in a way that it was more condensed all the ingredients mixed in better and the dough was phenomenal. We both thought as we ate their pizza that their calzones would rock because of the flavor of the dough and we were correct. It satisfied two cravings, pizza and a cheesesteak and my BF proclaimed«this is dangerous». We also loved the portion of ricotta it was not an afterthought you could see and taste it. It was creamy. Not bland like other places in town. I know we will be back for this many times. I would appreciate more flavor in the tomato sauce and it be a little less thick. However every topping we have had is fresh fresh fresh and the dough flavor is good. Maybe some of the kids working there need to learn how to make a more nuanced pie, stretch the dough a little more and portion the sauce better. That might get us to order the pizza again. We will certainly give them another chance. Their calzone was exceptional and why they get the extra half star. They do not get 4 stars because they have weird hours and days they operate. We find ourselves craving them and calling to realize they are closed. I can say we would have ordered from them 5 – 6 times more because of this. They may be closed on Sundays for religious purposes so I don’t want to be too harsh but consistency in the quality and operating hours would bump them up a star. The ingredients are fresh and we like supporting a local business. As I know it, Dave used to work at/with bagelheads? If that is true, make some whole wheat everything bagels please. We would buy those up with our pizza. Dave, I am not kidding about the bagels. You already have the ovens and the ingredients. Maybe consider them selling them on Friday nights so people can have them for the weekend? All our gameday guests miss those bagels, they were the perfect base for a day of tailgating. :)

Order the nubbies!!! They are addicting. I could not stop eating them for the life of me. Wonderful, local pizza place. One of the best in town. I’ve tried the calzones and pizzas, both great. It’s a deep dish pizza, but I like it that way! They seem to have good lunch specials too, but I have not gone for lunch. Maybe I should… any who, give it a shot!

About 10 years or so ago, pizza choices were limited in Tallahassee. Now, there are so many, it’s easy for a good one to get overlooked. Dave’s is just that, but not just good, reeaallllly good! I wish I had tried it sooner. The ingredients really taste fresh and the crust is delicious, not real thin, not real thick, it’s light, just the right amount of crispy, and very tasty. Try the Tuscany specialty pizza — it’s great. The ambience reminds me of pizza joints as I remember them growing up. There’s brick halfway up the wall, interesting memorabilia adorning the walls, good sturdy basic tables & chairs, and also clean. The service is friendly & good. I think this place has a challenge in that now so many pizza places have popped up in Tallahassee, and, this location is a bit hard to notice, tucked back in behind Brueggers Bagels on N. Monroe. Give Dave’s a try next time you’re in the mood for pizza! Let’s give this one some patronage so they’ll stay around — it’s a real gem IMO, my new favorite for pizza in Tallytown.

Everything about this place is great… except the pizza. The staff is is very friendly and efficient, the place very clean(the bathrooms were surprisingly clean). I didn’t even hate the somewhat overdone décor. When the pizza came, I was very excited because it had those little pepperoni slices that curl up into grease boats when cooked. However, the pizza was not good. It seemed undercooked, the bread was doughy, though the outer crust was good. The sauce was not good, it tasted like some crappy canned sauce. I think if they would cook the pizza longer, it would be much better. They should also ditch their sauce recipe and start over. The staff was friendly enough that I will give the place a second chance, but I’m probably order wings or a calzone in hope that they will be better. I like that they sell Boylan’s Sodas and Abita Root Beer. I hope they make their food better, would love to have a good pizza place in neighborhood.

We were expecting the standard NY-style thin crust pizza when visiting on New Year’s Eve. What we found was a Buffalo, NY style pie, thicker crust with an incredible tomato sauce. The crust, while thick, was light and baked to perfection. We went with the 18“x26″ party pizza, enough for our family of four with lots to take home. They also have a nice selection of bottle and draft beer. I highly recommend giving this place a try.
