I really like this place. Great food especially like the grilled fish sandwich. Their fries are good too. Great tea! Fun atmosphere and décor. Great staff too.

Serviceable place. Friendly and a decent Cuban sandwich. Nothing outrageous either good or bad, better than most chain choices off of I 10.

I really don’t know why this place is only three stars, because it is a great place to eat. If you went here right when it opened, that was a bad decision, because a place is always going to have a long wait within the first month of it opening. It happened to us when we went, but I forgave them because the place was packed. Now it’s time to tell you how great this place actually is. If you plan on getting an appetizer, get the yuca fritters. They are super flavorful and they have a delicious dipping sauce on the side. As far as entrees go I’d suggest getting something different every time because they have a lot of great options on the menu. My overall point is that you should give this place a second chance if you didn’t have a good experience the first time. It is a great place to eat and they have an awesome owner.

Honestly, I cannot understand the fascination with Gordo’s. It seems like people either really like it or they really don’t. The masitas were terrible. Just awful. I liked the moros — they were fine. My husband’s meal was okay. But that’s it. It’s just okay. Maybe the other location is better? We haven’t been back in a year, so maybe the quality has improved. We are not interested in going back.

My wife and I had dinner at the market square location a few weeks back. It was very good. I had the arroz con pollo and my wife had the el pollo loco dinner salad. We were very pleased with our meals, plus, the service was quick and efficient. The prices are also very reasonable. What more could you ask for?

The service is so slow here! Our food had hair in it. What has happened to this place!!! We used to love coming here and the last few times our server has been the worst!

Cuban food is so delicious when it is authentic and well prepared. Gordo’s Cuban Cuisine does not disappoint on either count. Their menu has all of your Cuban favorites and their recipes are spot on. From the picadillo to the arroz con pollo, down to their rice, black beans and bread, the food is great, hot and served fast. Best of all, all of this is served for a very reasonable price. To me, one of the best and fun dinners in Tallahassee for the price.

Our favorite place to eat in Tallahassee! The service is always great, and I love the beachy atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re at the coast. As far as food goes, the empanada sampler is a must have! All 3 fillings are equally delicious, and be sure to ask for extra Gordo’s Sauce, which is a mojo-spiked mayo that tastes like the best ranch dressing you’ll ever have. I also love the croquetas, which are a traditional cuban starter. My husband gets the Lechon Asada every time, which he absolutely LOVES, and I always get the Gordo’s Catch of the Day sandwich with fried fish, fries(which are awesome– thin and crispy), and extra Gordo’s sauce. They also make a mean Bloody Mary, especially if you ask for it spicy. On top of everything else, they are super affordable! We always order all of the above, plus a few beers, and keep it under $ 50. Great place!

I always order the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. Very tasy, especially with the gordo’s sauce. The service is satisfactory. I enjoy my visits here.

The food was great, but the service could have been better. Being a weeknight, they weren’t incredibly busy. Nevertheless, the bartender seemed busy and/or distracted, and I had to make an effort to get her attention. I had the Cubano with Gordo’s Fries. I’d definitely go back for the food, but I would hope the service were better.

Had the cubano. The sandwich was very good. I tried the empanadas and really enjoyed them. I thought the place was very loud to have young kids.

Went for a work lunch today with some of the team, decided on this place because as we were deciding a couple of them labeled this place as ‘Americanized Cuban’ and this naturally peaked my interest. Got there and the festive Fiesta-like décor made me want to day drink but it is a good atmosphere to sit and talk while eating. Ordered myself a Cuban with fries, which unfortunately were extra since all sandwiches are stand-alone and you have to add-on a side salad or fries for something like 1.99 extra. This resulted in an internal what the heck moment since what Cuban place worth their picadillo salt has a $ 10 Cubano and fries plate!!! Which brings me to my main point… If you are from Miami or really have ever visited or even if you have an ounce of Cuban blood in you, I don’t recommend going here. This is definitely for those who have never tasted sweet sweet cortaditos straight from the street with some buttered toasted bread(you know what I’m talking about 305-ers). It’s like the cover of a great song, you can’t expect it to be as awesome as the original but you can take it as it comes. Don’t compare Gordos to any legit Cuban place you’ve ever been to, which is OK after all… it’s not like they claim authenticity. However, quality of the food was good(if you don’t compare). Gordo’s sauce is bomb and their shoestring fries may actually be worth the extra $ 2. Service was ok, ambiance was ok. I want to check out the Gordo’s burger though, which is supposed to be pretty good so stay tuned.

Been here twice. The food is pretty good, but the food takes FOREVER to get to you and the servers are horrendous. Both times I’ve been here, had the same experience. The servers don’t write your orders down, and both times they have forgotten something. This last time, they forgot to put in the appetizer order, time before that, they forgot my whole meal.

I enjoyed my meal here. I couldn’t tell you the name but it was the fried pork chunks topped with raw white onion. For my sides I got both the black beans and red beans which made for a ton of food but all very good. The service was perfectly fine too. Will happily go back during future Tallahassee visits.

This place was great. Road trip across FL. Saw this place on Unilocal. We had never eaten at a Cuban restaurant so we asked for recommendations. Our waitress was very helpful. We had some sort of ham Chz stick things as an app. Very Good. I had the traditional pulled pork with mojo sauce and black bean soup. Excellent. My wife had the steak salad, not sure the name, meat was very tasty. I also had the signature rum punch so please forgive any spelling or grammatical errors. We marked exit 203 on HWY10 in our phones so we can find this place again along with the nearby Trader Joe’s.

Great service(Frances) but my Gordo burger was burned! Sent it back, they sent another burned one! I noted that one was burdened too(or just the same one as before), and poor Frances was reluctant to take it back, and said the kitchen was getting mad at her about it — basically asked me just to eat it. This will be my last trip to Gordo’s, so I tipped Frances well as it wasn’t her fault and she was nice. Won’t be back.

This is the second time I have ever been to Gordos. The first time was at the one next to FSU. This location is in Market Square, and I feel is less noisy and more nicely decorated. It was a Friday night, but there was no wait and we were seated very quickly. Rhian, our waitress, was very helpful and explained any questions we had about the menu. My wife ordered the Lechon Asado, and I ordered the Palomilla. Lechon Asado(4⁄5) — pork was seasoned very well and cooked perfectly Palomilla(4⁄5) — the steak had raw onions on top, and I didn’t think I would like it, but it went really well with the steak, the maduros and tostones were also very good Our friends we went with ordered a basket of fries and Gordos sauce. I had heard about how delicious the Gordos sauce was, so I was really excited to try it. Maybe my expectations got the best of me, but the Gordos sauce I thought wasn’t anything special. I felt like it was a little overrated. I did like the fries though. They are a little thicker than shoe string fries and seasoned very well. Definitely would come back again for lunch or dinner. The prices was very reasonable and the portions were decently large.

There is NO bad choice on the menu. Never disappoints. Everything good about the original, with just enough«uppity» north-side flair to lure the uninitiated. Say«hey» to Mufasa!
