If I could give 3.5 stars, I would. I used to frequent Hiro’s during the beginning of my college years because it was near my old apartment and they were pretty much the only place that served bubble tea. All these years later, my opinion remains the same. Their frozen yogurt options are fantastic and always have been, but the bubble tea is just not quite my cup of. Well, tea. The sweetness and flavor has always been hit or miss and the boba is always inconsistent in texture when I order. I might be insanely particular about how I like my boba cooked, but I’m just truly not a fan of how Hiro’s does it. The service has always been good. The store itself is very cute and is chill to hang out at. I would just recommend going more for the frozen yogurt than the bubble tea.

I’ve only been here for boba — that being said, I really like this place. I especially like the honeydew and taro. I gave it 4 stars because we have been there multiple times where they have been out of boba, even if it was like 3 hours before they were closing.

Cashier in store says they use powder to make milk tea, and you don’t get to choose how sweet you want. I ordered Hiro milk tea, very sweet. I bet they are very profitable, by using such cheap material(power), and charge for $ 3.75 for an iced milk tea, with a LOT of ice. Will not visit again.

I feel Hiro’s has declined over the years. They usually have the same flavors and about half of the machines are down so… you have like 4 to choose from. That being said, I feel their Taro is the tastiest. The toppings also don’t get refilled and even when empty the toppings are scarce and stale and the fruit doesn’t look the freshest I really like their Boba tea, and they have different kinds of jelly(mixed, coffee, lychee…) They are close to campus and are better than other options on Tennessee st.

Apparently the boba tea is great here… But we came for frozen yogurt and were disappointed. They had at least 3 empty yogurt dispensers. The chocolate yogurt was not good, on the tart side and tasted kinda funky, But it didn’t say tart on the label. Toppings were lacking IMO. I would not go back.

just moves in town and this is my most currently favorite bubble tea store. you can order modified tea with much less sugar and freedom of choice to add extra bursting boba, jelly, aloe … I come at least 2x/wk

I stopped in after all of the great reviews about the boba tea. I have to say I was kinda disappointed. I ordered the Hiro’s Milk Tea, since it’s kind of a staple. The tea was weak, the milk tasted funny-almost sour, the boba was undercooked and not sweet at all. Maybe it was an off day? Glad I’m only here for the summer and can get back to my favorite tea place in Atlanta.

Their bubble tea is perfect. Not too sweet, and actually tastes like tea. We had the lavender and the green tea. Will be going again whenever I am in Tally!

Get Hiros milk tea with boba. The macaroons are really good to! They also have stamp cards for discounts.

This place was good, but has some drawbacks. Some of the machines were not working, and the toppings tasted old. Their prices are not that bad, but I will not be going to this place again. There are other frozen yogurt places in Tallahassee that are better in my opinion.

I recently moved here from Irvine, CA, which is what I felt was the Boba capitol of the U.S. I thought moving to Tallahassee was going to end my Boba addiction, but to my surprise I found Hiro’s! Not only do they serve Boba but they also have fro yo in simple and great flavors. I was happy to see a decent sorbet flavor, which have been lacking at other fro yo spots around town. They had a good selection of toppings and they regular fro yo flavors were great too. The boba and tea selection is by far the best I have found in the area. I was happy to see they have lychee as an option too since it is my favorite! Overall, great place for boba & froyo. The prices are a tiny bit high, but since it is the only of its kind in the area, I will take it!

Frankly, I thought all my froyo pleasure receptors were burnt to a crisp. After my extreme obsession with the frozen treat circa 2010, I was so over it. I’d seen it all, and in Hannah’s world — it had totally jumped the shark. But Hiro’s has reawakened my love affair with not-too-terrible-for-you dessert. This Tally gem is snuggled up next to an Asian restaurant, and they serve anything but average goodies. Helmed by a sweet co-ed, it offers your typical Tallahassee friendly factor, too. Snagging some sample cups, I was stoked to see some unusual flavors — taro and strawberry cheesecake specifically. The purple-hued taro had a pleasant, earthy flavor. Not overly sweet and totally unique. The strawberry cheesecake was creamy and rich. Topping options include mochi and Boba beads, plus cheesecake bites, sprinkles and fruit. Honestly, it was an epic end to the evening. My mom and I parked ourselves at a table and did our best to savor the sweet — all while grunting and ooohing with delight. They have Boba teas, too, approximately 806 flavors, which I fully intend to return for. If their froyo is this impressive, lord knows their liquid treats must cause conniptions. Unlike any dreaded ex, I’m pretty stoked froyo has made its way back into my life. Thanks Hiro’s.

Boba is great. This was my first time there and I had the Piña colada boba. Pretty good. Hubby was a bit disappointed with the vanilla frozen yogurt and liked the other flavor okay but nothing great. Service was okay, a bit pricey. BUT it’s attached to a cute looking sushi place AND it is very close to FSU so that’s a plus!!! Actually the combo is perfection for me!

Hiro has had an upward and downward arc for me. Not being someone who really craves froyo often, I usually get it when I’m out with friends more than anything else. I like Hiro’s froyo, I really do. But it’s not much better than any other froyo I’ve gotten. But it did have an upward trend for me when they introduced their tempura ice cream. I really enjoyed that, and I’d actually go out of my way to Hiro’s to get it. Unfortunately, they took it off the menu eventually, and so now they’re back to being a good froyo place for me.

Hiro’s frozen yogurt was an unexpected delight. The pomegranate-raspberry and original flavor are both fantastically done. Besides their frozen yogurt, they banana tempura, fried ice cream, and boba teas/smoothies. I had the strawberry-lychee green tea with boba pearls and my girlfriend had the mango-strawberry green tea with boba pearls. Both were equally amazing. The boba pearls had perfect texture. It was not too hard or soft; it had a nice chew to it. The flavors of the fruit and tea mixed perfectly. I was actually surprised by the yummy taste. This is why I suffered from multiple brain freezes while driving. I definitely recommend this place to any people in Tallahassee looking for some boba tea or froyo because they do both very well.

They offer many types of things other than frozen yogurt such as fried Ice cream! My favorite thing to order is their mocha smoothie with boba.
