Never disappointed! Excellent subs! Their bread is a real standout– The taste and chewy texture are unique. I love that their turkey is hormone/antibiotic free! Get it hot with provolone! The Larry’s Italian dressing is also really good. They also have a couple really good hot sauces to add to your sub or to take a bottle home.

I ordered the Jake’s Hoagie Philly Cheesesteak and it was probably the worst cheesesteak I have ever had in my life. I feel dirty after eating that. My soul feels dirty. I showered 40 times since, and I can still feel the dirt all over me. Don’t do it. For the sake of your sanity and your soul, do not eat this cheesesteak. Update: I also ordered a cheesecake with my meal. It took me some time to muster the courage to eat said cheesecake after the horror story that was my cheesesteak. Now that I have eaten a bite of the cheesecake, I would like to change my overall rating to 0 stars but Unilocal won’t let me. Suffice it to say that this was the worst dining experience I’ve had during my time in Tallahassee. Everything was horrid.

Thus place is pretty good. The first time I went I had the meatball sub, was fine nothing special, but here in Tally that’s good. 4.99 Lunch Special is a good deal in theory. The young guys working where relatively friendly and the story they have is compelling. Sustainable, Hormone-Free, the whole nine yards. I went back two more times and now I will never ever return. The next time I got a Philly CheeseSteak concoction that was terrible. The meat had gelatin marks and tasted like it had gone bad and THEN was frozen for shipping… i thought we where on the healthy train here Larry? Whatever not a huge deal, I’ll give em another shot. Third time around I go in with my girlfriend. I thought maybe the manager/owner who is there everyday would remember me, maybe at least a greeting, as I was the only one in the store, nope, about 11am. I had noticed her before and did not get any friendly vibes, whatever that’s how you run your business, just make sure the food is good. Ordered the chicken parm, «that’ll be 8 something» Ummm I come in here everyday to get the lunch special why is it different? Because I didn’t tell you before I ordered!!! Then she starts yelling at me about how the promotion wasn’t worth it and she was ending it soon. Excuse me lady there is a big sign outside and for you to yell at me. Shifty eyes lady better be makin better subs. The chicken wasn’t even good, very chewy. GG Larry

The atomophere in Larry’s was so pleasant and welcoming. The staff was very talkative and made it their business to satisfy me. They have gluten free items, soups and delicious sub’s.I will definitely be back!!! The Jakes hoagie is to die for!!!

I have been eating Larrys for about 10 years now. The best turkey sub I have ever had. I still remember the first time I bit into a sandwich. My dad had one and let me bite into it. It was love at first bite!(Phrase trademarked by me, hehe!) But anyways three things about this sandwich. The meat. The bread. The Italian oil. I love the sub on wheat or white it does not matter. They also have amazing cheesecake and chicken spinach wraps are good too. It’s crazy how I walk into subway I order my sandwich how Larrys takes your order. However even after I debate on what I want to order I still get turkey. Lettuce tomatoes, onions, mayo, spicy mustard, Italian dressing, light pickles, light jalapeños. A. Mazing.

I’ve been to Larry’s several times in the past 8 years. I like the place because of they served both cold and hot subs. The two older ladies that work there are very nice and remember people and still work there. One time I had my wisdom teeth pulled out and need a soft lunch so I order a cup of egg salad and it came out to be 1 or 2 dollars so I ordered another! I also love the Otis Spunkmeyer cookies especially the strawberry cheesecake ones! A few years ago they ran a Groupon for platters of subs for a fairly decent price. I believe they are the only sub place in Tallahasse that have 6ft + subs. I’ve never ordered one so I can’t comment on those subs. Recently, Larry’s went under new management but the place seems the same with new style menus and now serving cheesecake. As for the food, I like the soups especially the red pepper gouda and generally order a cold sub. I’m not a fan of the bread because it’s not freshly baked and bought packaged elsewhere. If you want cheap subs under 6 bucks or support smaller businesses, I recommend coming to Larrys. If you want to spend more money for hot subs, I recommend publix or Jersey Mikes. However I find Jersey Mikes a little too expensive for my taste.

Vienna Beef SLAUGHTER! I was so excited to see a Vienna Beef sign in their window a few weeks ago and the manager told me they’d have hot dogs, Italian beef and italian sausage, ALL from Vienna Beef, Chicago’s historic all-natural, all-beef maker. Today I was told they’d only carry the small hot dogs despite the neon sign saying«Italian Beef.» They ruined the all natural casing known to crunch with every bite by cutting the hot dog in six places and grilling it. Anyone from Cicago knows you ONLY boil these dogs and NEVER ruin the crunch. Then the toasted the ALWAYS steamed bun. What a lousy, disappointing meal. The sub ordered by a friend was declared lame and tasteless as well. Yet another poor Tallahassee eatery.

This place is nothing what the other reviewers say it is. I’m suspecting the people who work there got nothing better to do then writing reviews online since this place almost never have any customers. And with good reason. It’s pricy and the bread is horrible… Nothing giant about it. Many better alternatives in town!

Went there the other day. Girlfriend had the meatball, I had the ultimate. The sandwiches came out quickly and the staff was friendly. The sandwiches were tasty. They weren’t phenomenal by any means. Average sized, not bad, not extraordinary either. And I’m not sure what Kenneth is smoking, but it most definitely is not the best meatball sub in Tallahassee, and I seriously doubt he’s tried them all. Firehouse Subs meatball sub is FAR superior to the meatball sub they serve here.

Groupon brought me into Larry’s Giant Subs. The food will bring me back! Where do I start? The staff was friendly and helpful. That means a lot. However, the food… Wait I said that already. I ordered the Ultimate, thinking I’d compare it to Publix ultimate. The 8 inch wheat roll was fresh and soft. A pleasure to bite into. The roast beef was black angus with no additives or hormones. The turkey and provolone just perfect. At first glance, I thought the sub looked small until I realized I usually order a 12 inch at Publix. The list of condiments was extensive, but my taste is very simple. The sub was served heated(and didn’t have a micronuked texture) with a crisp pickle spear. The Larry’s dressing was good and the hot sauce(in a bottle near the napkins) was just the right mixture of hot and spicy! I don’t know if I’ve ever given 5 stars before but keep in mind this is a sub shop. It was pleasent, busy and still had a personal touch. The sandwich flavor was heaven on wheat bread. I can’t wait to try their pastrami!(When I ran a sun shop, MY pastrami was the best! Kosher NY, sliced daily and slowly cooked in its own juices.) I’ll let you know how it compares. Larry’s ultimate beat the other guys!

I can’t believe no one has reviewed this place. I’ve been going to Larry’s for one sub for 9 years. They have the BEST meatball sub in town. hands down. Yes, I’ve tried them all. I cannot tell you a thing about their other subs. I went their so often as a college student that when I came back, after leaving for grad school, the lady remembered my order. Large meatball with extra cheese – TRYIT!
