The food is awesome. I recommend their wings or Philly cheesesteak. They do take forever to answer the phone when ordering a takeout so be prepared to wait.

This is a American comfort food type of place with a large menu. I have enjoyed there lunch special several times. Burgers are pretty yummy on kieser rolls. I usually sub sweet potato fries. I don’t feel this place has a bunch of excitement however they will do you a solid for lunch. The décor is your basic sports bar. Tile and wood everywhere. Probably a great place to watch a football game if your into that type of thing. Will return but don’t feel there’s much to go out of your way for necessarily! Your basic pub and grill type place.

I ordered the traditional wings with garlic heat. They we’re so yummy, the wings were doused in sauce with the perfect amount of heat! I also ordered a side of curly fries which was actually a large helping. The service was slow during a not so busy time but the waiter was nice so it balanced out.

The original Hobbit location has been around for decades if I’m not mistaken. They play by their own rules, which may sometimes have you question their business practices. But in the end, they make a consistently good product. Tonight’s service was on point. Our server, _________(insert male name here) was personable, attentive and a seasoned pro. I ordered 15 wings, Garnet & Gold style. They were cooked well and were not over-sauced. I licked my fingers until the very last bite. My friend’s burger and fries were very good — according to him. The slight hiccup was halfway through the meal. I asked if I could get some«celery or carrots» with my wings. The server replied with«blue cheese or ranch?» and I replied, «blue cheese, thanks.» An order of celery and carrots came out a few minutes later and I immediately had the inclination I was going to be charged for them. When my check was handed to me, I noticed a charge of $ 3.25 for the«veggie plate» even though I wasn’t aware of the up charge. If you know me, you know I’m no stickler. But c’mon, no celery and carrots with an order of wings? I ordered 15 for crying out loud! I think that’s a little cheap on the business side of things. The server was super apologetic, and even offered to [paraphrasing] «sneak an extra blue cheese for you from the kitchen.» It’s just very tacky to think of a business being so dang frugal. Were my wings good? Yes. Was my service good? Yes. Was my experience worth $ 21.46 including a 23% tip? No way. Of course this isn’t going to stop me from coming back. Hobbit is a Pensacola Street institution. A place for college students and sports fans to gather together. However, air on the side of caution that what you see is what you get. And in this instance, that’s not exactly the best thing.

If I could give this place 0 flags right now, I would. I’m a pescatarian and everybody comes to this place on Sunday for the wings so I kinda never saw a point in coming. But I was out with friends and Wala, we ended up here. So I ordered the fish blackened sandwich with cheese. I get the sandwich… It’s fried. The waitress didn’t hear me say blackened and it was busy so I didn’t trip. I started eating the fish… It was not cooked. And I’m talking about not cooked as in still gooey, fresh out the water. Like they put it in batter, put it in the fryer for 2 seconds and gave it to me not cooked. So I tried to return it to the waitress, with a «don’t forget to blacken it this time». So I’m waiting for my fish, a man I assumed is the manager came out and said the fish was cooked and that if I wanted to get another one I would have to pay for it… What? Even after everybody at the table(6 people) AND the waitress agreed it was undercooked and gooey. Horrible customer service, horrible food. DONOTCOMEHERE.

Last night i went and ordered the french dip sandwich. It was absolutely aweful. They brought it out cold, first off. Then when i asked for it to be warmer, i waited for several minutes to get it back. Come to find out, they microwaved it! The bread was soggy on parts of it and crunchy on other parts, clear signs of being microwaved. And they just popped the whole plate in there because my pickle was piping hot. I was starving so i ate some of it. My husband tried it and spit it out. The waiter was nice and I didn’t complain about the sandwich a second time because i knew there was no point. Overall, i am very disappointed and wont go there for a while. There are so many places in Tallahassee to try and trusted places that you dont have to worry about the kitchen being lazy.

Hobbits is one Tallahassee’s local sports bar spots. Located on Ocala and Pensacola, this joint has become a big part of FSU tradition and is continuing to grow. In the past the location was about half the size, now however the building has been improved and there are many flat screen tv’s on the walls. During football seasons there is no better place to be then hobbits. Some of the many dishes that I get whenever I visit hobbits include but are not limited to: The Blue Shroom Burger, The Wings with garnet and gold sauce(best in Tallahassee) and I’m always there during their happy hour specials. My only gripe with Hobbits is that on some days, they can be incredibly slammed and slow, but that is to be expected in a college town.

Overall impression: a great place to grab a burger, a few beers, and watch the game. Specifics: With fantastic and friendly service, delicious burgers, and a fun atmosphere, Hobbit Grill stood out to me as a solid choice amongst the other burger joints and sports bars in town. And, in contrast to a lot of the others, it actually has enough seating so that you don’t have to fight others for the best spots. The burger I had was fantastic and the server, though new, did a fantastic job, bringing the food out quickly and handling all drinks with ease. Hobbit Grill is definitely a spot worthy of a second visit.

Your typical sports bar. It looks like a cafeteria you can have a drink in. The food however, I have mixed feelings about. I’ve been there a few times and sometimes it’s great, other times, it’s just food. They have good burger and very tasty wing flavors which they let you taste beforehand if you’re unsure. The portion sizes are great and the service could use some help(too laid back for my taste).

Some of the best wings ever! I usually get the Carolina Gold on my wings, trust me, you won’t go wrong. They have a really good Greek Salad and the corn nuggets are good too. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because of the wait time, but that won’t stop me from coming back. Plus, if you haven’t been here in a while, they’ve doubled their space, to include a larger bar!

Service was basic and felt quite rushed unfortunately, the server wasn’t interested in basic manners or letting the customer order food before drinks. They never even bothered to refill our drinks. This was an incredibly weak part of the experience. The food, on the other hand, was fantastic and came out quite fast. This aspect of the dining experience was worth 4 stars. The wings came out nice and crispy, the chili was rich and flavorful, and the black and bleu burger was delicious and done correctly. I would like to add that the«Rules» on the back of the menu is insulting and ridiculous. Your clients aren’t children.

Awesome wings and great service! Be sure to try the Garnet and gold sauce– it’s Carolina Gold mixed with Buffalo sauce.

Came in with co-workers for lunch. Restaurant wasn’t all that busy, but you wouldn’t have known it by the service. One person in my group had to get up to get their own refills of soda. It took over an hour for the food to arrive, and consequently, my fries were lukewarm at best. The table was sticky, which is an indication that the kitchen is probably not the most sanitary place on earth. They are hiding ZERO décor behind all of the TVs on the walls. The only thing they have going for them is that college students who just want cheap wings and cheap liquor won’t care about either the service or the quality of the food. They also won’t care if it’s dirty either. The chicken wrap I ate wasn’t all that bad, but I can get the same chicken wrap at five other places around town with better service and a cleanlier environment. I’ll just leave this place to the drunk and stupid college students that live in this town 8 months a year.

I should start this review by saying that I have regularly been a patron of Hobbit for over 2 years now. At some points throughout this span I was going 2 – 4 times a week. I was a huge fan of the place, which is why it pains me to write this review. It is appalling to realize just how steeply the quality of the overall experience here has declined. It seems like management has sort of stopped caring about the customer. For starters, the service is not as good as it used to be. While I have NEVER had an encounter with a rude employee, I have had several problems with the accuracy of my order. On numerous occasions my wings have not come out extra wet as I ordered them, and are also often times tossed in the wrong sauce anyway. The last time I went both of these things happened. I asked for Hot extra-wet and they came out hot. Then they brought them back extra wet with Hot Garlic. I know that these things can easily be fixed, but the fact that it continues to happen time after time is extremely frustrating. Several other«little things» like this also happen all the time(I.e. Forgetting my blue cheese, refilling my soda with the wrong drink) The other main issue I have had recently is the quality of the food itself. The wings are noticeably smaller and(no exaggeration) are served cold more often than not. In fact, The last time I went the corn nuggets, the 2 orders of fries(1 straight, 1 curly) and the 3 orders of wings we got were ALL served cold. This is especially frustrating, with the wings, which they have raised the price on when they are on special.(59¢-65¢). My last food issue was with the blue cheese, one of the things that makes Hobbit a favorite of mine. The blue cheese has been warm/room temperature each of the last 3 times I have been. Should the management at Hobbit see this, please understand that I am not writing this review with the intent of bashing the establishment. As I said before, I am a huge fan of Hobbit and the way that it used to be, but I am seriously concerned that a place I used to frequent several times a week, is falling off. *Still the best hot sauce and blue cheese in Tallahassee and I am a fan of the re-model.

This was the very first restaurant I went to when I moved to town 20 years ago, and I’ve been back numerous times. The gyro with curly fries is a favorite for me, but the burger is also excellent. The management is outstanding, and I’ve always had a good time.

I heard about this place on the radio. Then I saw it on Unilocal and it sounded a lot better then it ended up being. The place is going though some renovations expanding I think. But they have community tables so you get to meet your neighbors unlike me. My neighbors were a little uptight let’s say. I wasn’t even wearing my UF Gators shirts. I heard that they have the best wings in Tally. Not to this Gator. My wings were super small and swimming. Really they were in a lake of not at all Spicy. Spicy hot caribbean wings 10 of them that could not swim home. I mean Dick’s Wing would have sent these things back. On top of that the celery and carrots were old. You could see how dried up they were and even rubbery too. So in all you can keep your best in tally wings I’m going home.

The food was pretty good and a pretty good price. The service was wonderful. We called to see if they offered delivery, they do not. There are a few delivery services in Tallahassee that the restaurant use, but the services jack up the prices. For example, the Cuban sandwich(with french fries) is $ 8.89 straight from the restaurant, through the delivery service Doorstep Delivery, the same sandwich was $ 11.56, plus you have to pay a processing fee(2.5% of order total), tax(roughly 7.5% for some reason, though state tax is 6%), and a processing fee of $ 3.99. The lady who answered the phone told me we’d be better off to just order at the restaurant for takeout, that we’d save money, and we’d get the wing day discount(only on bone-in wings, and only when ordered through the restaurant). She was very nice and courteous when I told her I’d call back once we made up our mind. When I called back a few minute later, it was the same lady I had spoken to previously, and she was just as nice and courteous when taking my order. She even saved me a little more money when I wanted to add coleslaw(along with fries) to my Cuban sandwich, she rang it in as a side to wings so I’d save a few cents. Very courteous and very nice. I’d give that particular server 5 stars! Anyway, on to the food. We got some boneless Sweet Teriyaki wings, bone-in Hot wings, the Texan Philly Melt, the Cuban sandwich, and the Hot N’ Dilly appetizer(battered and fried pickle slices, and battered and fried jalapeño slices). The total was about $ 50. The wings were good enough, nothing special. The sandwiches were both really good. Far better than I had expected. I don’t know if we’d come again if we were in town, just because there are so many other places to eat. It was good though, I’d recommend the food, especially the Cuban sandwich.

This is mostly a local favorite for the area college students, fans of FSU football.basketball.etc. The food is really good. The wings, burgers, fries are out of this world. Service is great. My only complaint is that the temperature inside was cold to me. It was actually cold in Tallahassee, but the locals just don’t believe in turning on a little heat? lol… but really that is my only complaint about this establishment. Next visit I’m going to try a burger. Not sure why I didn’t take a pics of the food that everyone in my party orderd. My spicy jerk wings were cooked perfectly. I asked for celery and I received a massive amount, but that’s ok! It was fresh and the ranch tasted as if it was made in-house and not heavy on the mayo taste, which is great in my book because I detest mayo!

WIngs. Wings. Wings. Yes they have a great reuben, cheese steak and buffalo chicken sandwich, but this place is about wings. So how are the wings? They are f***ing great. They have a great sauce selection where everything is good. Buffalo Wild Wings has more options, but some of the flavors are gross, Hobbit doesn’t bother with nasty flavors. It sticks to the classics Mild to Extra Hot, three versions of traditional BBQ, with a few local variations, then all the other good stuff like teriyaki and lemon pepper. I like my wings naked and fired thoroughly, meaning no slimey half cooked skin. Drums and flaps are crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Just perfect. They are also quick on pick-up. Right after an FSU Football win they had our wings ready in 15 minutes. If you are looking for a good local sports bar with tasty wings, eat at Hobbit’s.
