These are the sweetest folks you will ever meet. I have been to Greece and this Gryo was WAY better than that. The pita fries are to die for and its the most flavorful authentic Gyro East of Greece in my opinion. ALWAYS hits the spot.

Nobody but nobody makes a gyro like George at Little Athens! Seriously. The slight crunch of the toasted pita, the generous and fresh and flavorful ingredients, the perfectly balanced sauce – it all works.

Five stars without a doubt! Food here is consistently quick, hot, and fresh! I used to go to Pitaria– but never again after discovering Little Athens. Hands down the best gyro I’ve ever had, and its close to campus too. I recommend the Olympus gyro and their pita fries.

I can’t believe how little customers were in here. I’ve had a number of gyros in my life from various residents and this one was top two. Great location and even better service. There was just one of dude working when I went and he was very friendly and inviting. I highly recommend this to anyone

My favorite gyro in the entire world!!! Been frequenting the owners restaurant since I was a kid. I have NEVER had a gyro better than his, and I love trying new places. Also like the rice side, very good. I’m sure everything else is good but I refuse to try anything else lol

I have had Greek food all over the place. I’m not from Tallahassee. I’ve been t festivals and eaten in tarpon Springs… None and I mean none can hold a candle to the food that comes from Little Athens in Tallahassee. Wvery time I’m here for legislative meeting or even passing through, we always make a point to eat here. They have hands down the best gyros you will EVER eat. It’s my favorite and I love them :))

I gave this place a try for lunch but I was disappointed to find that it was Really bad!!! Oh my gosh. Worst Greek food I’ve ever had. Falafel was hard and dry. I suspected there would be a problem when the falafels came out so quickly. They tasted like they had been sitting around for days. Lentil soup tasted burnt.

Their falafels are delicious! I usually order a combo that includes the sandwich, pita fries, baklava, and drink. The owner is friendly and makes sure everything is to your liking.

Worst gyro on earth! Meat not real lamb! I’m from Chicago so I know what a gyro should look and taste like. The pics are false advertisement. The fries taste like they were cooked in old grease. I’ll never go back!!!

This is one of my top inexpensive places to go in town. I’ve never been disappointed with anything I’ve ever gotten from Little Athens but a couple of my favorites are the gyro, falafel sandwich, Cuban and a must try — the pita fries — all of these items are super tasty and delicious. You will not leave hungry with their portion sizes too! The owners are so very sweet and make it an added bonus to spend money there. A Tallahassee must if you’re looking for delicious, authentic, Mediterranean food. Yum!

Authentic mediterranean food. The owner is the chef and even had greek tv on in the background. This place is a little hidden unfortunately– but is much better than piteria. I got the Big Athens Gyro– and it was delicious. It comes with fries and a small baklava. I also got a mint tea that paired perfectly. –Highly recommend. I would attach pictures but I ate it too quick.

Best Greek food in Tallahassee… hands down. The owner is also incredibly sweet. Also, the chicken shwarma is delicious.

I’ve never had a more delicious gyro than the ones served at Little Athens. Right off campus, this place is great for a quick lunch that is both delicious and unique. Compared to other pita places in town, Little Athens is by far the most inviting and authentic Greek place in town(to my knowledge).

Who has the best gyro? Little Athens or Pitaria? You ask. The verdict is out. Little Athens Gyro has the best freaking GYRO! Came here with a small group by accident. They wanted to go to Pitaria but the line was deep. So I as a seasoned Unilocaler suggested Little Athens even tho I had never been. Based on the Unilocal reviews, it looked promising. So we came here instead. The place was small but there wasn’t a wait. I ordered the Big Athens Gyro and the group with me all trusted my judgement so they ordered the same. When I took the first bite, I knew we made the right choice to come here. The lamb was so tender and flavorful. The sauce and all the fixings were just amazing. Not to mention the soft and delicious pita. My table couldn’t stop«hmmm“ing and saying«OMG this is really good!» This place is deff a mom & pop no frills Mediterranean joint. In fact I saw a 1989 article in Florida Flambeau featuring the owners who are two hardworking immigrants. Would I come back? Hell yeah! This is now my go-to gyro spot. Get your GYRO on!

The jury is still out on whether I like Little Athens or Pitaria more! Little Athens, located in the same parking lot as McDonald’s by the strip, is a small mom and pop Greek restaurant known for their famous Big Athens Gyro. I, of course, went ahead and tried the Big Athens and was very pleased with my decision to do so. It had all the traditional flavors you would expect when enjoying a Gyro — Lamb, Lettuce, Tomato, Onions, Feta Cheese, and delicious tzaziki. Their Pita Fries were also delicious, though I think I may like Pitaria’s Pita Fries more. The owner of Little Athens is also the cook and the cashier. He is very nice and loves to get feedback from customers. The prices were fair for the amount of food you were getting. Go ahead and give it a shot, then go across the street and try Pitaria as well! I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to definitely say which is better! Opa!

Awesome gyro combo with pita fries. Also a quiet little atmosphere that’s very different from Pitaria. They’re not directly comparable restaurants, but nicely complement each other.

Little Athens Gyro is the type of place I would visit frequently if I lived in Tallahassee. I tried the Humus with Tehini and the Big Athens Gyro. The humus was a nice flavorful appetizer and the gyro was large and delicious with soft pita bread and flavorful meat, veggies, and feta cheese.

As somebody who eats a ton of Greek salad, often every day for weeks at a time, I’m always looking to find a tasty salad topped with delicious gyro meat. I’ve been to Pitaria a few times, since basically everybody I know who lives or lived in Tallahassee recommended it to me. Basically nobody said Little Athens was right down the street and nobody told me it was better than Pitaria. Well, it is. Not that Pitaria is bad, because it’s not, but it’s just not as good as Little Athens. Little Athens is a pretty small spot next to a McDonald’s which makes it a little difficult to find while driving, but thankfully I made it here! I came in at night and the place was pretty empty. I ordered a salad with gyro meat. The guy working was super friendly and seemed like he really cares about his customers. He was the only one working there but it didn’t change the quality of service whatsoever. He still had a smile on his face despite the fact that there were quite a few people who came in after me and he was food prepping solo. My salad was really fresh. I ordered it with gyro meat, which was pretty thinly sliced. I usually like my gyro meat a little bit thicker, but this stuff was still good. Something I really liked about this salad was the seasoning put on it. Really delicious and added a little flavor to the salad. The tzatziki sauce was awesome. It had a hint of garlic which was delicious. Prices are fair, about $ 10 for a salad with gyro meat. With the combination of good food and friendly service I’ll definitely be back.

We have eaten at George’s off and on for years. His food is still the best Mediterranean I have tasted. We always get a hot platter of freshly cooked food, and the veggies are always ripe and delicious. My favorite is the Big Athens, which is full of grilled gyro meat, tomatoes, thin sliced onions, lettuce and feta cheese. I usually cannot finish the whole thing. My Guy gets a combo with their pita fries, which are fantastic and crispy. I usually steal some of his. This place is tucked away next to the McDonald’s on Tennessee Street by the university. It is always clean and generally quiet when we go in. George and his wife do all the cooking and serving.

THEYARESUPERNICE: D It’s harder to see than the other businesses on Tennessee St, but even though is slightly less accessible than the other Greek place, Little Athens Gyro is definitely worth a detour. I ordered a simple ham and cheese grilled sandwich and got more than I bargained for. It is the best ham and grilled sandwich I’ve had in Tallahassee so far! Smothered in creamy sauce and filled with veggies. It tastes fresh and scrumptious! For a larger appetite, the three meat trio meal is sure to satisfy! With rice and three types of meat, you are sure to leave fulfilled and satisfied. I’d definitely recommend it over the other Greek places around.
