I’ve been in Tallahassee for 4.5 years now and for the first 2 years I was stuck between what barber shops to go to. I toiled between Renegade and other random barber shops throughout Tallahassee but could not find one that stuck with me. This was the problem until I decided to try out Livin in the cut on Ocala and Pensacola. First couple times I went there I had no problem and the barbers were able to get me a good cut in a considerable amount of time. Now that I am graduating from FSU, I’m going to be worried that I won’t be able to find a barber shop that is as convenient, and entertaining as them. The barber shop itself is in a great location as it is next to gold’s gym, Publix, and heritage grove. People of all ages come in expecting a good cut and always leave with one. The shop has everything a guy needs; there are multiple flat screen TV’s, an Xbox, magazines, and finally a tap with beer. I couldn’t believe it. I personally go to Dan every time and he knows exactly what I want and how it’s done. I wouldn’t go to any other person. The owner, Greg is an incredibly nice man who knows how to take care of his guests and cater to their needs. The only thing is, if it is a Friday or the weekend I suggest either coming in early or setting up an appointment because the line will be out the door! All in all, if anytime you are in Tallahassee and in need of a decently priced cut and an awesome environment LiTC is your spot!

I’ve tried many barber shops since coming to TLH last year. My place in Miami set me up so that I was a bit skeptical at most of the places I scoped out. My guy knew what I liked and I didn’t have to do too much explaining… he just got it. While it was a trendy, expensive spot but it was worth it in my book. I think I found the one. I had many barbershop rebounds since coming to these rolling hills but Living in the Cut is a comfortable place with 5 – 6 barbers going at once, TV, and beer. Not pretentious or expensive but with affordable prices. With that many options, you’re bound to find the barber for you. Tip that might make your day: splurge and make an appointment to avoid the long wait(especially around holidays and big events). However, long waits there aren’t even that bad bc there’s video games and the aforementioned beer(if you’re of age). Do yourself a favor and check them out, pay with cash and you get a small discount too. Use it to add a little extra to tip your barber for doing such a legit job.

Extremely impressed with this place. Might be my run of bad luck with barber shops in town but they gave me a solid cut. I have light colored hair and if not faded correctly my hair shows lines and imperfections real easy. Greg, who happens to also be the owner, faded and blended better than anyone else in town. I’ll definitely go back and recommend you give them a try.

Best barber shop in Tally! You walk in and you immediately know you’re in good hands, the people getting their hair cut look good, the people cutting hair look good, you can be sure that you will leave looking and feeling good! The shop is clean and modern, very warm and welcoming atmosphere. I went to a different barber and they screwed my hair up, my edge was so crooked it was almost vertical, but with their excellent skill they managed to turn my disaster of a haircut into a miracle! I couldn’t be more happy with the skill and professionalism, I’m new to the area so I’ve tried them all… so glad that I can finally say that I’ve found my new barber shop home here!

Worst experience I’ve ever had with a barber shop. They go by the disguise of being upscale but lack any type professionalism you may expect from such a company. I went there for a simple fade haircut but it was as if the barber was so upset that he had to cut my hair. Like… wait, what? My advice: Avoid the guy with the dreads. Terrible!

I’ve gone to this barber for the past 2 years and they do excellent work. I got to the shop today(Saturday) 25 minutes before close and they wouldn’t cut my hair because they close at 6. I have the most important job interview of my life on Monday, and all I needed was a 10 minute touch up. If my barber can’t be there for my most important moments why should I be there as a regular? Great work, but the hospitality needs improvement. They just lost a regular. Would only recommend if you get there during their convenient work hours.

When I moved to Tallahassee as a freshman many moons ago, I had to make the ever-important decision of where to get a haircut. Well, after a disappointing Supercuts tragedy, I ended up at Livin In the Cut. And we all lived happily ever. When one strolls inside, you’d think you just walked in to the ultimate man cave. There’s an Xbox, flatscreen televisions galore, an oversized bowl of condoms but most importantly, a keg and tap, full of beer. You heard correctly, BEER. At a barber shop, all day, every day. But the gentlemen behind the scissors are the main reason I return time and time again. I’ve never received an unsatisfactory haircut,(coming from me, the most picky, OCD man around). Livin In the Cut is affordable and accommodating of all your requests. However, if you’re one of those guys who stays with a specific barber, make sure you know their schedule, because some have off days. Also, it’s often best to make an appointment. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked in and all 15 seats were filled, in addition to the customers getting their haircuts. So, if you’re looking to impress your girl or be the coolest kid in school(let’s face it, we all are) then allow Livin In the Cut to take care of the rest.

Been coming here for 2 years & wouldn’t have it any other way. The atmosphere is fun, friendly. The barbers are without a doubt professional. FREE beer. Xbox console available. Depending on the day you visit, you may be able to catch a movie. Shawn, my barber, is off on Saturdays, but available to get you right throughout the rest of the week. I’d definitely recommend Livin’ in the Cut to anyone looking for top-quality, experienced barber services.
