I ordered cupcakes and balloons for delivery for my sons bday. I called to place the order around 9 am and by 3 that afternoon, they were hand delivered to him at his FSU off campus home. Great, fast service and he said the cupcakes were absolutely delicious.

Fantastic cupcakes! Their store often sells out of the good ones early so if you want some be sure to come in early. If you want more than 4 you have to do an advanced order so keep that in mind. They have seasonal flavor as well as a core set. I highly recommend the red velvet, peanut butter chocolate and cookies and cream. Last I checked the price was about 2.25 each for a full size. Definitely check em out!

After living in small rural towns for several years, upon moving to Tallahassee my daughter and I went on a quest for really great cupcakes, as Cupcake Wars is her favorite show. Having driven past Lucy & Leo’s numerous times on my work commute, we finally stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, we discovered nothing more than yet another overpriced, too-hip-for-us bakery. Upon entering, the woman manning the counter looked a little perturbed that we had interrupted her peace, as we were the only customers. I tried to engage in conversation regarding the business; asking if it was locally owned, explaining how we came to find it, and even stating the truthful fact that we had just been in Smallcakes an hour earlier, but decided to hold off on buying something despite their available Groupon. The woman literally said nothing in response. The only two things she said were that yes it was a local business and that the cupcakes cost $ 3.25 each. There were only six flavors to chose from, and only about six cakes of each which seemed odd as according the sign, they would be open for several more hours. We chose Chocolate with Cream Cheese frosting, Red Velvet and Cookies & Cream, getting them to-go. We had to stop at Publix on the way home so out curiosity, I purchased two cupcakes from them as well to compare.(The photos show a Publix cupcake beside one from L & L.) The outside of the Lucy & Leo’s cupcakes, as well as the frosting, were very dry and crusty, but the insides were moist. Though they did taste like homemade cupcakes, for me, this is the problem. Two of the three purchased from L&L tasted exactly like every cupcake I’ve ever made. The cookies & cream cake was actually worse. Being the third«cupcakery» we’ve sampled thus far, I am now even more perplexed as to how a business that makes only one item can possible exist when said item just isn’t that great. If all you do is make cupcakes, they should be really amazing cupcakes. I just can’t see paying $ 3 for something that I can make myself. As of now, I think we will be staying with Publix for our cupcake fix.

The best cupcakery in town! I would go here every week if my body weight could handle it! My favorite cupcakes are the cookies and cream cupcake and the peanut butter cupcake. The peanut butter cupcake is to die for and I’m not even a big peanut butter fan! It portioned so that the peanut butter icing isn’t overwhelming. I know a lot of people like the red velvet cupcake but I hate red velvet(it’s so bland to me!!) I love when they do their special cupcakes. I once got a mike wazowski cupcake that I wish I could have saved forever because it was the cutest thing in the world! Will always recommend this place!

Best cupcakes in Tallahassee! Creative daily /seasonal flavors along with delicious«standard» flavors will definitely satisfy your taste buds. Easy to tell these are made from scratch every day. I’ve had most of their cupcakes and have yet to be disappointed. My favorites include red velvet /cookies n cream and chocolate/peanut butter. I’ve also has their vegan and gluten free cupcakes and both are great! They have a gluten free cupcake EVERYDAY.

Found this place accidentally while driving down the small road in our enormous RV. Turns out to be a gold mine!!! Walking through the door is like walking into another world. I usually don’t eat my whole dessert but this time I did(at 11:30 am!). All 6 of us did, and that’s a big complement to this place. I’m always turned off by cupcakes which have frosting that doesn’t go to the edge of he cake part, which is how this place does it. So I was a bit turned off at first. But one bite and I was sold! The cake part is buttery, light and perfect. The tops of the cakes are barely crispy(for lack of better word!). Regrading flavors, we recommend sticking with the basics. We got a cookies and cream and really, vanilla with white frosting is just as good or better. The chocolate vanilla combos are what we recommend.

This cupcake shop is very famous around here, and I usually hit up their food truck on Thursdays. However, the café itself has limited options(you’re better off going to the truck if you want variety all at once). It’s nice that they have tables and chairs to sit at while you eat your cupcake. As far as the actual cake is concerned, the frosting is always very, very sweet, and the actual cake is hit or miss. Their chocolate cakes tend to be most and yummy, while other, lighter flavors are more dry. However, knowing that I’m no whiz in the kitchen, any time I want a cupcake, I’ll probably head here.

After picking up a café au lait at Redeye a few days ago, we swung in to Lucy and Leo’s on a whim — I had never actually heard of the place. There isn’t a lot to see here, but it was a neat little diversion from the routine. This is a small shop in a small storefront in Midtown. As you walk in, you pass by some t-shirts and other merchandise, and then to your left is a small counter where you can view the cupcakes and pick out which one you want. That’s really it, although they do have a drink cooler and a coffee urn. The back part of the shop is occupied by a «boutique» where some gaudy clothing for the Vera Bradley set is sold. The cupcakes were not as expensive as I had expected but at $ 2.75 a piece, they are a far cry from a plastic tray full of cupcakes at Publix. They also have higher priced«specialty cupcakes»(not sure what those are) and cakeballs, which I guess are like donut holes but made of cupcake. Service was friendly. They had 4 – 6 varieties on the day we visited, including Red Velvet, Chocolate, and Cookies and Cream. I chose a Red Velvet with the cookies and cream topping. I also got to try my cupcake conspirator’s regular Red Velvet cupcake. Both were delicious and cakey. I did like mine a lot better, because the cookies and cream topping was very good, whereas the regular topping in sprinkles tasted too much like cream cheese and was just too rich for my palette. Bottom line: I would be willing to swing back through Lucy and Leo’s next time I’m craving a sweet accompaniment to a cup of Redeye coffee, but I wouldn’t drive across town to get a cupcake here.

After seeing Cupcake Wars I really wanted to love LLC! My first time there I had a Groupon for 6 cupcakes and picked out 6 fun flavors. I brought them home and we had a sampling from chocolate to vanilla to snickerdoodle and more. I don’t know if it was an off day or what but we were not impressed. They all seemed dry and lacking in outstanding flavor. I recall the snickerdoodle was the only one with some dense cake feel to it. Since then I have had some mini cupcakes at events and those tasted better than the big cupcakes, but they definitely seemed overpriced and overrated at the time. I may have to try again but since Gigi’s opened near Killearn I’ve gone twice and have been blown away by their crazy flavors and solid cupcakes. I do love the location and look of LLC and the staff and owners seem super sweet but in my experiences I just wasn’t understanding the hype.

I just went here and purchased their vegan flavor cupcake today. The shop is super cute and the cupcake [cookies and cream] was delicious, maybe not worth 3 bucks, but better than any cupcake I could make! The only down side I could honestly say is that there is only one vegan flavor, only on Wednesdays. It would be awesome to see a vegan flavor every day! Nevertheless, I will be back!

I have been had quite a number of cupcakes from Lucy and Leos, and I always hope that they would be delicious. I really do love cupcakes and this place is very accessible. The cupcakes presentation-wise look decent. One of their cupcakes I like is the blueberry lemon cupcake. However, all the other cupcakes I have tasted, the frosting tastes like a blob of gluey sugar, and it overwhelms the cupcakes. I wish they would make the frosting less heavy tasting and that they would put more thought in the taste and consistency of the frosting. It is like the entire concept and presentation makes me hope that the taste would be wonderful, but sadly it has been a disappointment for me.

I don’t usually go for cupcakes, but with these flavors, I had to satisfy my sweet tooth, and I’m glad I did. Red velvet, cookies and cream, chocolate hazelnut, chai tea and, excuse me, CHOCOLATEPEANUTBUTTER. For me, you could sell only the last one and stay in business. They also sell bonbon thingys that are delicious, as well. The atmosphere here is very quaint and welcoming and the staff was a lot of fun. For cupcakes, they do it well.

Cute little place, the ambiance was great and the employee was very friendly. My Chocolate Espresso cupcake was great and we also enjoyed my husband’s Chocolate Peanut Butter cupcake. I was disappointed with the lack of cake varieties. The frosting options were yummy but I would have liked the espresso cupcake to have espresso cake. The price seemed reasonable to me.

Honestly the word that comes to mind is: overrated. The cupcakes are small and very overpriced. They are yummy, but aren’t most cupcakes? Compared to other Tallahassee bakeries, these cupcakes just can’t compete. However, I do like their icing and the cupcakes are visually appealing. I have had to make a few special orders for events from here before and the service is amazing. They worked with tight deadlines and specific requests. They even let me borrow cake stands for the events at no charge(just a security deposit, which I got back). I’m giving it 3 stars as a compromise: 2 stars for the cupcakes and 5 stars for the special order/catering service.

My wife love this place, but I don’t. There is to much frosting to actual cake, and the butter cream is way too sweet. I take a bite, and I can practically feel my teeth rot out. The strawberry shortcake is good, because they use a whipped cream topping, and it is much lighter. I wish there was a daily gluten free flavor instead of just on Thursdays. Over all, its a citchy little place, but the name, and the fan base is what keeps it going, not the products.

Always the cupcake lover, I sought Lucy and Leo’s out on my recent trip to Tallahassee. It was a little hard to find, but I called and they were nice enough to steer me to the little peach house. The shop itself is cute and definitely lends itself to hanging out and eating cupcakes. We arrived withing 30 minutes of the store closing and all cupcakes were buy one get one free so we loaded up with a dozen of various flavors and a couple of cake balls and were on our merry way. I brought the cupcakes into work the next day and the crowd of sweet lovers were impressed. I, of course, had the red velvet, which was on point — not too chocolatey and not just yellow cake with too much red food dye. The cream cheese frosting was just the right amount of cream cheesy goodness and not overly sweet. Other rave reviews were for the coconut and the Monkey Business — banana cake with peanut butter frosting. The cake balls were like petit fours, but round. I found the cake to be moist and the ganache perfect but my friend thought they were too sweet. To each his own. Overall, I would recommend — the flavors are unique and well executed. Enjoy!
