I went there the other day for the first time and I gotta say, good food. Reading some of the comments below, you may not get that impression. I enjoyed my pulled pork sandwich and the potato salad was pretty damn tasty. Didn’t get the chance to try the brisket but definitely will. Wish they gave more food but oh well. In any case, I like it

Nasty food, the chicken has a blood on it! Never going to order from this restaurant again!

I used to love Piggys, very disappointed in my visit last night, ordered a quarter chicken white, they tried giving me dark meat telling me it was white, then they proceeded to tell me they were out of white meat. They also changed the broccoli casserole which is now just broccoli with cheese sauce, poor customer service last night, really disappointed in you Piggys, I won’t be coming back

Last Saturday we went to Piggys because on Saturdays, you can get one free kid’s plate with each large adult plate that you order. Large adult plates are about $ 11 and they are a lot of food. If I order one, I take half of it home for lunch the next day. A lot had changed since I was there last, some of it good, some of it bad. But most importantly, the bbq was good, the sauce was good, and all the sides that we ordered were great(Mac n cheese, green beans, baked beans, and potato salad). I particularly love the potato salad. They removed some of the kids menu items, like the mini corn dogs, which my kid loved, but he got the Mac n cheese instead and loved that. We went to Sonnys recently and their Mac n cheese tasted like straight cooking oil, their green beans were so over seasoned that we couldn’t eat them, and their fries were raw. Piggys was a nice contrast.

I used to live for Piggy’s, but I have been really disappointed the last couple of times I’ve gone in. The prices have gone up by about a third, so what used to be a 24 buck dinner for two is now $ 30+. I’d be more understanding of this if I could still get the same experience, but that just isn’t the case any longer. Also, I understand that restaraunts are a numbers game, but they’ve cut their operating hours back very sharply, to the point where the staff are closing down at 7 pm on a Friday night. On Friday night! I walk in, and the counter has been raised, so you can no longer see your food being prepared. Also, the servers greet me with a laundry list of all the things they’re out of; chicken, ribs, several sides and sauces… Look, all I’m saying is, if you’re going to have such absurdly early closing hours, AND not stock enough food to sell during that time, it’s not really a dinner establishment any longer, just a really long lunch service. Next time, I’ll know to call first, save myself the trip.

I guess I’m a glutton for punishment. Or I really love good brisket! In either case I had read that Piggy’s had made changes(hopefully for the better), since my last one-star visit. On the spur of the moment I stopped off for a brisket sandwich for today’s lunch. The restaurant looks very different. You can no longer see the food on the buffet line, so you just read the menu and order from the cashier. Not a bad system. but I preferred to see what I was ordering ahead of time. The next thing that struck me compared to my last visit was that the workers were MUCH more courteous and friendly. This was a big improvement, and it was much appreciated. Unfortunately the workers were also slow and confused. The restaurant was 2/3’s empty, but they still struggled with keeping the tickets straight and making progress filling orders. I can’t imagine how bad it would be if the restaurant was busy. Finally there is the food. My brisket sandwich was good, but not great. I think the meat had been in the warmer too long as it was a bit dry. The fries were also quite average. Piggy’s used to have exceptional fries, but that is no longer the case. So I have now upgraded my 1-star review to 2-stars. There are some small improvements since my last visit, but Piggy’s still has a long way to go.

Has gone drastically down hill. This place used to be amazing. They only have 1 sauce when they used to have 5. Green beans are ok but not crisp like they used to be. Still ok, just let down from what it used to be.

I agreed with some recent reviews that Piggys had gone down hill but, they have made changes and they are back better than ever. Menu is scaled back but, food quality is back UP. Glad I checked them out after I heard they made some changes. Brisket and pulled pork were both great and sweet potato casserole was a great side.

Wow– piggys is a shadow of its former self. Prices up and quality down. Brisket not as moist as it used to be. Part of that due to getting the last leftovers of the old brisket along with some of the new which wasn’t great either– a little tough. Also they got two of my sides wrong. They don’t even offer two of their best sides anymore. The cheesy biscuit and the corn casserole are long gone. $ 15 for brisket plate and drink at that quality level is just too much.

One of my favorite barbecue places in town. They have some of the best sides(especially the fresh-cut french fries) and great portion sizes. Just be sure to get there early as they tend to run out of items towards closing time.

I texted my wife after finishing an afternoon round of golf at Southwood saying I was hot and tired and suggested bringing home Sunday dinner instead of cooking — and noted Piggy’s was on the way and we hadn’t had their good BBQ in a while. She jumped at the suggestion. Twenty minutes later I was home with brisket, pulled pork and sides of cole slaw, broccoli-cheese casserole, baked beans, a slice of garlic toast and a corn-bread muffin — and we couldn’t have been more disappointed. What the heck has happened to this formerly excellent smokehouse? Tough, flavorless meat, lacking in smokiness(and, though I could be wrong, it seemed the portions were considerably smaller than I remembered). Dry, insipid slaw(which I saved by adding some mayo and a little sugar). Thick, dried out beans. Stale garlic toast. Flavorless, rock-hard corn bread. Broccoli casserole that was 90% rice and maybe 10% broccoli(though quite cheesy). The hot food arrived home barely warm. Even the BBQ sauce wasn’t as good as I remembered(and I saved the meat by drowning it in some very good bottled sauce from Joe Kem’s in Moultie, Ga.). The one saving grace was the service in filling my order — fast, friendly and helpful. I don’t know what’s happened to Piggy’s. Maybe my mistake was coming in at 5:00 on a Sunday(closing time is 8 and there was just one couple dining in the place). Maybe a busy lunch or weekday evening(with fresher food) would be better. Not sure whether I’d be willing to roll that pair of dice again.

Terrific place. Mmmmm. brisket terrific, and all the side are made from scratch. Like the new a la carte format. Friendly folk,

Got pulled pork and sausage with Mac n cheese and collards. Pork was excellent. Tried a little bit of each sauce and they were all good. I liked the hot the most. The collards seasoning was perfect and to top it off the sweet tea was made with real sugar.

I have been many times over the years, and I always said that Piggys was the best BBQ in tally. this is absolutely not the case anymore. the meat was cold, the sides don’t taste like they used to, and even the tea tasted sour. it’s now a couple hours since I was there, and I’m not feeling that well. I’m also not a big fan of the new a la carte style menu. my meal came out to be more expensive than it usually is, and I order the same thing every time.

Contrary to what many of the other reviews say, Piggy’s BBQ is a must try for BBQ lovers. I headed to Piggy’s with a few coworkers for lunch a couple weeks back, and the moment I walked in, that ever so familiar smell of fresh brisket and biscuits caught my attention. I went ahead and ordered a ½ lb of turkey with collard greens, sweet potato, and a cheese biscuit, and boy was I in for a treat! The Turkey was juicy and tender and the cheese biscuit was perfection. The sweet potato was made to order so they brought it out to me a few minutes after, but it was well worth the wait. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the prices were very reasonable as well — less than $ 10 for all I got! If you’re ever in the neighborhood during your lunch hour, I definitely recommend trying Piggy’s, you won’t regret it! Oink oink!

Wow. It had been a couple of months since I’d been to Piggy’s and EVERYTHING has changed, down to the sauce. Not for the better. The ribs were mediocre, which made them the shining star of the meal. There are BBQ trailers parked in front of half the gas stations in Tallahassee, and most of them serve better than what I had today. The mac and cheese was gummy and flavorless. The baked beans were the worst I’ve ever had, worse than any school cafeteria or Marine Corps chow hall. They tasted like Campbell’s right out of the can except the beans weren’t thoroughly cooked. Even the sauces were lousy. The mustard-based«Carolina style» tasted like sugar, vinegar, a little mustard, and about 40% celery seed. The hot and sweet tasted like Wishbone Russian dressing with a couple shakes of Texas Pete. This was a huge disappointment. It’s like somebody came in and bought everything but the recipes.

Piggy’s was once my favorite restaurant. I would have given it 5 stars and hacked the system to give it 6. Now? I can’t tell you how heartbroken I am. Seriously. I fought back tears over my last meal there on Saturday night. To put it bluntly, if I wanted to go to 4Rivers, I’d go to 4Rivers. I hate 4Rivers and Piggy’s is basically becoming it. I don’t care what the staff says, the recipe for the S’weet sauce has changed and I hate it. The a ‘la cart pricing is a headache. The side have gone downhill. I miss my fries in the little paperbag. I got them in a paper tray last time. And the fries have changed too. But more importantly, and this is the MOST inexcusable thing of all. I have never been glutened at Piggy’s before. I have celiacs, and Piggy’s has always been safe for me. The last two times I went I experienced symptoms. Eating food I had alway thought was safe. I spent over $ 60 on a meal for my family that was worth, maybe $ 30. Pushing it. I’d give One-Star but… I can’t. I use to love this place too much. The murals on the wall. The plates and combos, the fact that I could eat there and not get sick. Now? Sadly, this is not my favorite restaurant anymore, and what’s worst is I don’t even feel like that matters.

This place has by far, the best brisket in town. The sides are very good as well. Especially the garlic biscuits. The prices are a little high for the amount of food but the flavors make up for it. They do give military discounts. The seating is small but adequate. Nice for a family lunch or dinner. Try it and see for yourself!

Pulled pork was tasty not seasoned enough for my taste. The green beans were cooled perfectly. The brisket was tasty but a little tuff. Mac and cheese as good.
