(Just speaking for the vino.) When I was told about this venue, I scoffed. As a NY transplant and Loire Valley buff, it takes a lot to impress me when it comes to wine. I have come here for dates, parties, girls’ nights, etc. and Wine Loft never disappoints. I honestly don’t even feel like I am in Tallahassee when I come here. The chic, classic aesthetic blends modernity with old world charm. I like sitting downstairs on the comfy couches, but the roof area is spacious and appealing as well. They have big space heaters for when it is chilly. My current fav is a slightly effervescent vino verdhe. It has a crisp, mineral finish and is the perfect white to sip on after a meal. I have chatted with several bartenders here, one of whom is preparing for his sommelier exam. It’s so nice to have folks who know their wines on a global and palate level. A joy of coming here is that it is void of misbehaving droves of undergrads. It can be noisy, but the crowd is not rude and boisterous. Wine Loft is the perfect lounge to visit with friends after work.

When you purchase expensive bottles of wine you don’t expect to be overtaken by a very loud group of women the staff refuses to control. This is not a bar. It’s supposed to be a lounge where you can sit and have a conversation with the person next to you. I’ve always been a fan but after tonight when the staff refused to help quiet a very very loud group of very drunk women I won’t be back anytime soon.

As a student at FSU, I’ve been hearing about the Wine Loft forever and once I turned 21, I was dying to go there! Needless to say, my experience went much better in my mind than in reality. There was a wide age range of people there from people my age to people in their 50’s and 60’s which was surprising to me, but kinda refreshing to be honest. The food was decent, I got the truffle tots, and the wine was good, but grossly over priced. Like c’mon, this is Tallahassee. The bartenders were nice and all, but the atmosphere just felt a little bit forced to me. Like they’re trying too hard to be this hip and trendy place and it’s just falling flat. Anyways, I don’t see this being a place I frequent often, but I’m happy I had the experience.

Surpringly underwhelming and extremely overpriced. The staff wasn’t attentive and the food portions were insulting for what you pay. The chocolate fondue was served with cold, stale cookies. Wouldn’t go back or recommend.

Very unimpressed. My friends and I walked in and were stared at by the staff, and were offered no guidance or greetings. The place was empty and silent. Our server was pleasant for the most part but a bit too sarcastic. We asked if they played music at all because of how silent and awkward the atmosphere felt. They then started playing some jazzy music. The food was ok. We ordered the sampler board. The pork tenderloin was great and cooked to perfection. Everything else on the board was ok. We then ordered the chocolate fondue for dessert. Big mistake. The cookies and other side items were all stale. The service just wasn’t good… at all. Not worth the money.

Have lived in Tallahassee for quite a while. Finally checked this place out. I was excited to hear the music on Friday nights and from the outside it sounds great and they have good local music. However almost died from all the cigarette smoke as soon as walked up to the balcony :(Would be great to enjoy the music on the balcony in a healthier environment. Why not have smokers go away from the building as they do in almost all other towns and states in the U.S. Also the bartenders were unfriendly and totally ignored the customers at the bar. Everyone commented that they were ignored. Really did not even want to leave a tip. Not the type of service I would have expected for an upscale bar. The ambiance and seating is nice and the location is good in midtown. Seems like the age group will depend on what night you go. Did not try the food just the wine. It was okay not fantastic.

Finally getting around to posting my review. I enjoyed the quiet rooftop atmosphere. The server was really attentive and checked on us often. We ordered a bottle off of their wine special list. I highly recommend taking advantage of that! Especially if you’re with 3+ people. We also ordered the cheese board, the charcuterie –cheese and meat board, the roast duck, truffle tots, and the bruschetta. The cheese boards were delicious. I preferred the cheeses offered on these boards compared to clusters and hops. The smoked meats, however, were slightly dry. The same for our tots. They were dry, which is a weird description for tots. Everything else we ordered was spectacular.

Pretty great service. There is a huge wine selection and the mixed liquor drinks are well made.

Cute, relaxed place. I went with my mom while she was visiting. The wine was good and the bartender was very knowledgeable. I do wish they offered more wines by the glass instead of the bottle.

My favorite thing about the wine loft is how intimate the atmosphere is. Great for date night, or just catching up with your girlfriends. Obviously, the wine selection here is great, but if you’re not a vino, no need to fret! Staff is very attentive and accommodating and will give you wine recommendations and let you sample wine before you make your final decision. Dragged out by a vino here, and just can’t get behind wine? That’s okay, too! There’s wine and spirits galore. The only food I’ve had here has been the truffle tots, and it was quite a generous serving. Definitely a place to go if you want to impress someone!

I loved the service I received here! I asked for the barkeep to surprise me with a «delicious tequila drink that won’t accost my wallet,» and he gave me a delightful, simple cocktail that kicked my night off right. I love sitting on the balcony, and all the food is yum!

Such a great outdoor and indoor atmosphere! Outdoor upstairs patio is great to enjoy a Tallahassee evening! Great for groups. Wait staff is very friendly and attentive! Can’t wait to go back to try some of their food items!

We love the wine loft. We haven’t been there in a while but whenever we would visit everyone was always friendly and displayed great professionalism. We attended an event there one time and had a great time. Wine tasting & appetizers to benefit a great charity. They have a great menu with delicious foods. Lots of different types of wine to choose from too.

Yes, the prices are steep. Yes, it seems a little pretentious looking in. Yes, parking sucks. BUT, I’ve never received such quality level of service anywhere else. The servers are courteous, fashionable, knowledgeable, and will take you by the hand Aladdin style and show you a whole new world. Great section of liquors to choose from, including some amazing bourbon but they also have the traditional sidecars, old fashioned, and other cocktails for you to enjoy.

Love this place. Bartenders are great and the drinks too. Being from London, I know a thing or two about good bars and this one is the most inviting in Tally.

Always a great drink can be found at Wine Loft. Tonight I had quite possibly the best martini in my life. Pray that the bartender named Captain is working to make you an excellent martini. Don’t miss the Truffle Tots either!

I’m not inclined to give 5 stars, but I could not think of a reason to give this place anything less. We arrived about 5:30 on a Friday night and had plenty of seating options. We chose the balcony. The atmosphere was really nice — not too loud, not too quiet. Within the next hour the balcony filled in, but there was still open seating so it wasn’t crazy at all. The bartender was excellent — making great recommendations, sharing insight into some new wines and helped us with food recommendations. We ordered appetizers which were perfect — lamb pops and cerviche. Both worth trying. Before leaving we were tempted with the chocolate board. This is too much chocolate for two people — share with a crowd. But omg… heavenly. Very happy we chose this place for a nice Friday night!

I’ve been meaning to go here since I turned 21. Finally, last night we gathered a group of friends to explore the famous Wine Loft that all underage Seminoles dream to experience. When we walked in, the ambiance is exactly what I had expected. Nice mood lighting with very trendy, chic decorations. Unfortunately, for a college-student on a relatively tight budget, it was on the pricier end. Luckily, we went during happy hour, so for a glass or two it was manageable for the night. I started with a glass of their Maso Canali from Italy, which was a very bitter Pinot Grigio. Next I tried on their Chardonnays which as a bit more compatible with my palette. For large groups, this place could be a hit or miss. They do have at least one large bar-style table, which wasn’t available when we first arrived, so for the first 30 minutes we all squeezed on a couple of couches in a corner. Once the first large party left, we were able to swoop in and snatch the larger table, which made the evening much more comfortable. I will probably venture here again, I would like to try one of their wine tastings. However, I will not be a frequent customer, because as I said it is definitely a pricier option.

The Wine Loft has a pretty expansive wine menu, living up to its name. The crowd seems to be mostly people in their 40’s and it is more of a low-key, quiet environment, definitely not a place to be rowdy. As a recent college grad, I can appreciate the venue but it’s not a place I’d prefer to spend my weekend, but rather for meeting a coworker for drinks after work. I’ve been here for 2 special events and that is the only time I’ve sampled the food, which seems to be pretty standard catering fare. The wait staff is kind of slow if you’re lounging in the downstairs, inside area. Not a lot of parking, so get there early or know where the overflow lot is(kind of hidden). If you’re looking for delicious dessert wine, try Fratelli Moscato d’asti. It tastes like juice.
