The best Dim Sum. In my opinion. It’s dated. The lobster tank looks nasty. But their live. Hot tea and crunchy noodles. They waitress who’s been there forever,(since I had my store in same plaza 1997) never looks at you Rudest server I’ve ever come across. New girl today sweet, asked us if everything is ok, told us which was her favorite Dim Sum. It’s worthy to drive out West. Bön appétit

My family is a regular crowd here, it’s our favorite place for Hong Kong cuisine. The food is consistently good, I’ve never experienced a dinner that was over salted or scrimped on ingredients, etc. We order family style and the waitress always knows exactly what portions to bring out to fit our crown that specific day. I know the service is not what one normally expects when dining out. Friendly, upbeat, personable waitstaff? That’s not what you’ll get here. But what you will get is fast, efficient, and a job well done from these ladies. I think all the negative reviews about service have reached the managers because during my last trip here, the grumpy waitress I’m normally used to was uncharacteristically nice, lol. It seemed really forced and not at all like her to be smiling and sweet, but hey, she’s trying! Hopefully that softens up anyone who’s been turned away from this great place by the service atmosphere. To be fair, it’s not all grump and dumps from the staff – host, busladies, some waitresses are actually very sweet!

The food is easily 5 stars. I’m a New Yorker and everything we ordered tasted delicious and flavorful. The giant bug on the blinds was a bit yucky but I didn’t have the highest expectations. They moved us to another table, which was fine. The problem was the service. I ordered to apps that never came to the table. I wasn’t charged for them, but they never came and were never mentioned. When one of the main entrees we ordered never showed up, I finally spoke up. The waiter insisted that we hadn’t made up our minds and ordered that… but we did. Nothing off the bill. Delicious food if you can deal with not so stellar service.

This was by far the worst Chinese food I have ever had. I ordered the szechuan garlic shrimp, which is supposed to be spicy, and it had absolutely no flavor. I also asked for white rice and received fried rice. My friend had the scallops, which were rotten, smelled horrible, and tasted even worse. She asked to switch her order, and was given a lecture on how scallops taste, instead of an apology. The waitress brought us each a glass of water, which we drank, and we were not offered another, or any other beverage for that matter. Our waitress was also very unpleasant, and incapable of cracking a smile. HORRIBLE place.

I ordered lunch to go and I was told 10 minutes. I spent more time waiting for someone to acknowledge my presence. Two waitresses sat in the back talking and resting their heads on a Dining Table in the back corner. I am surprise this place is open for business given how dirty it looked inside. Take note of the light fixture when you walk through the front door. You have to go through their storage to get to the rest room. C’mon Hong Kong City BBQ — clean up your act. Being of chinese decent I am embarrased

Better than average dim sum and a huge selection of dishes for lunch and dinner. A pleasant staff, unlike Silver Pond, and I’d select dishes other than the lunch specials.

Another visit to Hong Kong City BBQ on Valentine’s Day and we were not disappointed at all. We were lucky that the owner/manager held the table for us because it got crowded after we were seated. We ordered our Wonton and Hot & Sour soups, the Singapore Rice Noodles, Beef Chow Fun, and our 6 yr old had the appetizer Chicken Wings with steamed rice. All were very tasty as always. The reason for the 5-star review this time around was because the servers were actually smiling(thank you Saint Valentine ;-) We will always be back because we love the food !!!

The rice here is so disgusting. I had pork fried rice and it was horrible. The egg rolls are good and the wonton soup is very delicious. The tea they give you b4 your meal is good too. But I really don’t recommend this place if you’re looking for some good rice, bcuz the rice here is extremely disgusting.

I love dim sum. Lets just start there. But there are so few places that have decent dim sum. After driving by Hong Kong City BBQ many times I finally decided to have lunch there. Good choice. I bypassed the lunch menu and just did dim sum. Three dishes which was a perfect amount for a filling, but not overbearing lunch. The dim sum was fresh and properly served. The table had the traditional condiments that I used to get in China — soy sauce, mustard, and hot peppers in oil. I love the hot pepper in oil, adds all the flavor I need with a bite. The server was pleasant and the décor was okay, but neither were great. One of the best recommendations I saw when I talked in were two tables of 5, with Chinese people speaking Chinese. That tells you this is the place for authentic food.

They have all the common dim sum dishes and the service is pretty good. But I can’t say it’s my favorite dim sum joint in the area. I also didn’t realized that when I asked for hot tea, they would give me the chrysanthemum tea with rock sugar on the side. It’s a bit bitter for me and I prefer the other teas. All the dishes came out pretty quickly which makes me happy cause I love watching food come out. Haha! I always order the shrimp paste because I love the sauce and it’s also nostalgic from all the dim sum I ate growing up in NYC. They don’t push carts around at this restaurant like dim sum places outside of FL. Instead, they give you a list of dishes and a pencil and you fill out what you want looking at pictures of the dishes. Pretty convenient for people not too familiar with the dishes. Pictures always help.

Solid 3.5 so rounding up for friendliness. It is order off a menu Dim Sum so don’t expect a cart experience. Your selections come out quick, fresh and hot.

If you like-love Chinese roast duck soup with noodles and wontons this is the place I have been going to for years. The wontons are really pork shumai in this soup. Thick delicious broth! At my table everybody was pleased with what they got. I like this place more than the famous Silver Pond Chinese(ate there once) which is close by and overpriced.

The food is ok… the owner Tony is a very nice guy, but the attitude of the servers are pathetic and horrible. . I came in sat down waited for almost 10 minutes and no one came by to offer me a menu. knowing the fact that there are 4 waitress seating in one of the tables wraping dumplings, they saw me and completely ignored me and they continue wrapping dumplings… after a while the owner saw me and came by to give me a menu. The worst service of my life in a restaurant!!!

Oh gosh, has it been so long since I had good and authentic Chinese food? If you feel that longing to eat among the non English speaking, and you don’t want to travel far, then this is the place. Not crowded on a Sunday afternoon. The empty hearts greens, bitter greens, chives and Chinese broccoli are fantastic. Authentic flavor, although I suspect two of the four were fresh frozen and then thawed… It was worth it. Super cheap as it should be. The bun are made someplace else and not exceptional, but the taro cakes, shumai and other assorted dim sum items are good. They have jasmine tea served hot and freshly brewed, but you have to ask for it. Ohhhh, and a squid salad that was surprisingly good, clean, crisp and properly pickled elements. Yummy if you know what you are getting into. They have a collection of Chinese casserole that I am excited to try on my next visit.

This Chinese restaurant is official, the best authentic Chinese food around these parts. I am familiar with all the good food available in NYC Chinatown, it is very difficult to find any Chinese cuisine nearly as good outside of NYC Chinatown, let alone in Florida, but This Chinese restaurant comes very close. The food here is delicious, they have all of my favorite dishes such is seafood Tofu soup(Bean Curd) and roast duck, pan fired noodles and more. The staff is super friendly and the chef is a NYC Chinatown trained chef, the food is really authentic and as good as some of the restaurants in NYC Chinatown. As good as it gets out here in Florida.

A coworker asked me if I wanted to get dim sum for lunch with her, and although I had brought food, my arm was easily twisted lol. We got to Hong Kong BBQ right around 11:45am and were seated immediately. Regular menus were brought out but she specifically asked for the Dim Sum menu and we got down to ordering while we waited for our third coworker to arrive. The dim sum menu did come with a picture page as well, so if you’re not well versed in dim sum, this will help. We ended up choosing 7 options to share, 5 of which are smaller dumpling sized options, and 2 larger items — one noodle and one congee. Things came out as they were ready. See my pictures of all the items, probably the shrimp paste being my favorite and definite high marks for the beef chow fun(but I am pretty obsessed with chow fun noodles!). To be honest I’m not a dim sum expert but everything tasted great to me, and considering my Chinese coworker suggested the spot, she must feel they are pretty authentic. Total price came out to $ 14 pp which was a great deal considering how much we ate(probably could have cut this down to $ 10 pp if we weren’t so greedy lol). The staff kept my water glass filled and the food came out quickly, so no qualms with the service. Atmosphere was your standard Chinese restaurant, nothing special, but nothing too dirty. I’ll be back!

I didn’t order, so I just went along with whatever was ordered. And boy was it delicious!!! Service was quite good, place is average size with a BBQ station area up front where they can chop up the BBQ meats etc. We got a boatload of things from an appetizer soup then onto the BBQ duck, pork, and chicken, to some noodle dish, honey walnut prawns with broccoli, sweet & sour pork chops, noodle dish, a clay pot thing with braised beef, and some greens. As always, oranges were served for dessert. All the food was quite tasty and pleased we came here, good sized portions and a good price point. I’ve been here for dim sum a long time ago and it was good then too. I think it may have changed owners in the last few years but overall its still good.

Dim Sums always excite me and make my mouth water uncontrollably! This however is still new to us since just visiting Hong Kong this summer. We love trying new foods so we mainly ordered Dim Sums to try an assortment! Chive Pancake– It came out a bit unexpected; I thought it would be flat and thin like I’ve seen other Asian pancakes but it was more of a puff with not much of a complex flavor. We wouldn’t order these again. Steamed BBQ Pork Buns– Is a must anywhere we go to try! Generous on the filling with good flavor inside. Shanghai Dumplings– This is mixed pork and shrimp inside a steamed dumpling. Lacked flavor and needed sauce. Also wouldn’t order again. Shrimp Sui Mai– Also like a dumpling, the taste was good but not amazing. In addition to the above we ordered the Satay Beef Pan Fried Noodle dish that was topped with sliced beef with peppers and pineapple in a brown sauce! This dish was delicious! The crunchy pan fried noodles are so good in their brown sauce with chili sauce! We would definitely eat this entrée again! We arrived around 6:30pm on a Tuesday night and the place was already pretty full. By the time we left there was only 1 – 2 tables open. This restaurant is not very large so if you plan to go for dinner I would get there a bit earlier. The service was friendly and not overbearing like you find at such Asian restaurants! They serve their Dim Sums all day as well and have a small section of Weekend Only Dim Sums. I enjoyed our experience even though all of our food was not bursting with flavor and I would return again to try some of their different dishes.

Another great family dinner… Excellent food and service! My picture of the meal should say it all! W ordered the dinner for 8 and the quantity was very generous and the taste very flavorful! The mixed appetizer of Octopus and cold meats was interesting, the Salt Baked Pork Chops, Lobster with Ginger and Scallions, The Bird’s Nest, Yang Chow Fried Rice, Shrimp with Salad Sauce, Scallops with Broccoli were all amazing! WEWILLBEBACK!
