A&W/Long John Silver

Horrible horrible horrible customer service. Noone greeted me at the drive thru, no biggie, I figured the speaker was messed up. Since there was no one in front or behind me I decided to drive up to the window. When the guy FINALLY came to the window he just looked at me like I was stupid. After repeating my order, he gave me my food, didn’t ask if I needed sauces, didn’t give me plastic ware and gave me a drink that was ½ way full. Dude, it wasn’t even busy. Will never return.

Probably should have read the reviews before eating at this location. We had to walk around the whole place to find a (somewhat) clean table. Food took forever and when we got it, it was cold. Our Pinellas Park location is 100 times better. Idk what’s up with the management at this one. Fiancé bit into his burger and got a mouthful of the hard end of a tomato. Real nice…

It was very dirty and I noticed there was a rat trap in the flowerbed next to the drive through! I would have driven away but I was too close to the car in front of me. I got the fish sandwich and the bread was soooo stale and hard. It was gross and against my better judgement, I ate the fish out of it. I regret going there and I definitely regret eating it. This location is awful. Avoid it like the plague

So I would guess that the classification of a fast food restaurant would be a place that serves a variety of food fast and has a convenient drive thru. I don’t think that a pizza joint or a gourmet burger house would count so with that said, I have to say that Long John Silvers is my favorite fast food palace. And the extra super bonus of having a root beer float with your meal adds gold stars to the experience. Once more you can always add components like extra shrimp or extra fish fillets for a price. Freedom to choose is worth it’s weight in gold these days and LJS will let you build a meal any way you like it. White flaky fish nicely battered and shrimp, clam strips, crab cakes, and if seafood isn’t your style? The A&W factor adds burgers and cheese curds to your choices. The coup de gras is adding and finishing with a nice root beer float. I am a huge fan of milkshakes but the simplicity and tradition of a nostalgic old fashioned A&W root beer float brings back so many great childhood memories, you cN never go wrong with a ice cold root beer float. Just a perfect fast food combo and experience.

The food was great but the place itself needs major fixes. First, it seemed like there was only 3 people working there. It was dirty, the celing was leaking on a table. Overall, it looked like it was closing down.

Went there tonight to get food for the kids.
Waited at the speaker for 15 minutes after being told ‘give me a sec’ — a car already at the window in front of me.
Took another 5 – 10 minutes to place order, interrupted several more times by the easily confused drive through attendant.
Car at window still waiting for their food — after 5 or so minutes they received a drink, and pulled away.
I pull to the window, clarify my sides to attendant, then charged.
As she hands me back my card and receipt, she says ‘oh yea, we are out of hush puppies’ — why was I told after I was charged? She obviously already knew! She offers a drink to offset the 12 hush puppies from my order!
I said no, so she offered me pie… They sell pie? She didn’t know what kind… I agree to pie…
10 minutes later, she comes to tell me they have no corn… This is the last straw… I ask for a refund… And am told that they don’t give refunds.
I asked for the manager, who said she was in training and could not give refunds… I would have to wait until tomorrow.
I told her to call her GM or I was calling KIII — she disappeared for 15 minutes, or 20, at this point I was flabbergasted.
She finally returns and processes my refund…
This place has been terrible on every visit I have made to it over the last 3 years.
Several managers, same problems… Just close it already.

I came here during my work lunch hour. I did drive through and they weren’t busy at all. After I ordered my food and paid I waited for about 10 min for them to say they had no corn. I told him that I was really craving some corn with my meal and I didn’t really want much else. He finally offered to get one ready for me so I said that was fine. Finally when I get it and the rest of my food about 20 min later I was able to rush to work since I was already late.
I ended up throwing out my meal (baked cod meal) I understand that the food won’t look exactly like the picture but this looked like some one threw it up and put it in the plate. The cod was soaked and nasty which was sitting on the rice. It looked more like soup or stew more than rice smh. I still tasted it though, it was disgusting. I’ve learned my lesson. Never going there again.

Literally 10 minutes in the drive thru with one car. I ordered a root beer float and the ice cream was liquefied, just turned into milky foam. The girl said nothing. When I said something, she said the ice cream soft, so she knew it wasn’t right. I asked for a root beer only, she did not give me the difference back. Just say the floats aren’t ready or something, don’t serve that garbage.

I visited the drive thru on a Thursday afternoon around 3pm. There was no one inside eating and no line for the drive thru. After I ordered and paid for my food, I waited over 10 minutes at the drive thru window. Not sure why it took so long since I was the only customer in the place. Service was extremely slow for an offtime — hate to see what the waits are during peak meal times.

This place was horrible. I have been there before and the service was never great. I saw the manager walking around in house slippers. When I walked in there were 3 people standing at the counter waiting to order, and none of the other employees seemed to care. The lady who was washing dishes came out and said she would be right with us, then came back after disappearing in the back. The manager walked right past all of us and the cash register and said nothing. The lady finally came to take orders. I ordered a root beer float and a 2 piece fish meal, because I do not eat chicken. She took the two gentlemen’s orders after me, then I went to sit down with my girlfriend. After waiting about 15 minutes I see the lady bring the food to the guy who was 2 people behind me. I went to the register, and the lady was gone again, and the guy after me was still standing there. She then came out of the back and looked surprised. She then goes and throws too ALREADY made pieces of fried meat into the backed with french fries and brings it to me. I go and sit down, the first bite I take, is chicken. I go right back up to the counter and ask for the manager. The lady who took my order runs to the back, then the pregnant drive thru lady asks what it wrong. I asked if she was the manager, and she said yes, which I knew was a lie. I told her that I received bad service, waited too long for my food, and my order was wrong and I wanted a refund. She said okay and gave the exact cost for the item individually. I couldn’t believe it. I wanted all of my money back, but I just left. She made no offer of compensation. This place never has many customers in the dining area and I now know why. I will never go back to this place and I am writing to the corporate office, because I am sure there are serious violations going on behind the scenes at this place.

This is just a review of A&W because I’m not a fan of Long John Silvers. A&W has some really great root beer, straight from the fountain it tastes amazing, unlike any generic root beer soda or IBC root beer. The corn dogs are pretty good there too, but the service is not really that great, especially if you’re going through the drive-​thru. Overall, decent American food and great root beer.
