I stopped in because I was starving and I was washing clothes at the laundry mat around the corner. I thought a slice of pizza was better than fast food burgers and I liked the idea of just ordering one slice. As I was standing at the counter, getting ready to pay, a roach was crawling across the soda machine! And it was a nasty German roach… if there is one you can guarantee there are hundreds. I still took my pizza and sat down, but I was so turned off thinking of the roach, I ate a few bites and left. Ewww… nasty!!! It explains why the place was empty during the lunch hour!

Well I wanted pizza but the my close an hour and a half early. That’s the best way to lose customers. I was very disappointed to say the least.

Awesome NY style pizza by the slice and zepos too!!! The service was great! The guy brought the pizza out to us we sat in and ate. The ambiance is casual just like a normal parlor with tv’s on both sides so we can all have something to watch which is a plus! Pizza was fresh like if I was back home in NY!

So my boyfriend and I had lunch here the other day. It was our first time there so we wanted to give a few things a try. The zeppoles were the best thing we had out of everything, hot and fresh! We ordered a medium pizza it was pretty good not the best we’ve had in Tampa, but still good. We were going to order slices because they do sell them by the slice but the ones they had out looked old. We also had a calzone not the best but not bad either. The reason why I gave them a three star and not a 4 is because the place was too small, too hot, no A/C and the tables were dirty. I know not everyday will be perfect but they can improve.

Very friendly owner(s).He comes to deliver the pizza to my parents house every time. They also succeed with customer service, just for the fact that they connect with you and remember you. He dropped the pizza off one day while I was over and I answered the door. He introduced himself and asked how my parents were doing. The pizza is good which is great cause I can support a small local business and enjoy their food

Haven’t done the breakdown by stars for awhile, so here we go: First star earned simply for selling pizza by the slice at any time of day. That’s the way you do it if you want to beat the big pizza chains. It gives us an option that is as cost-effective as some of those carryout only deals and caters to when we just want that one slice or two… not an entire pie laying around in our fridge for two days. Second star earned for preparing my slices fresh and made to order with any toppings that I wanted. Of course, this took a little longer than if they had various pizzas sitting under glass ready to go, but I was in no hurry and watched them in the kitchen throw plenty of toppings on my slices before sliding it in the oven. Third star for the taste quality itself and the value of getting two large slices and a fountain drink for $ 5.99. Two toppings each on those slices too, not just one. Every topping was good and in particular my spinach and green peppers were very fresh. Some might say the slices were a little light on cheese, but I actually prefer pizza this way so no complaints here. I’d rather taste sauce and toppings than have something dominated by cheese. According to Unilocal, three stars officially translates to «A-OK.» That’s exactly how I felt about my experience here. Nothing overly special while nothing negative either. There’s plenty of other things on the menu instead of pizza, so you can find out more about those items from other Unilocalers(Like a very highly regarded eggplant parm) who came here for more than just a slice or two. If nothing else, I’ll remember this place as the first time I ever watched seven and a half minutes of Titanic. Nope, never seen it before. There were two TVs on AMC and I was exposed to this supposedly great motion picture for the first time while I waited for my pizza. Well, I won’t be seeking out future showings of this movie based on those 7 ½ minutes. Besides, anyone living in Tampa knows the Buccaneers generally take on water faster than the Titanic and I personally find that much more entertaining.

Pizza was not that good. Thin crust check, bad pizza sauce check. Staff was disheveled. Cleanliness was in question. Will not return!

I ordered pepperoni pizza and all I got was cheese. The bread was tough, tasted like cardboard and had no flavor. Their wings were OK but those were overcooked and took a few extra chews to swallow. This is place pretty much sums up what most northerners expect Florida pizza to be like,

This was my 2nd time going to this place, very small atmosphere. Friendly and thoughtful staff. I went during the time of the Boston Marathon bombing incident and they had it on the news and because I had 2 kids with me and the lady at the register asked me what channel I wanted to her to change it to. That was very nice of her. The only bad thing was that they forgot to give the kids their meals and finally when I said something about it they were very apologetic and gave each of the boys an additional slice of pizza.

It started with a coupon and a dream. That simple dream– edible pizza that Tampa might be proud of. I think I found it! This place has simple eggplant, and knots, and all sorts of favorites that wouldn’t cause any self-respecting Italian to be excommunicated from their family just for visiting. Laid back, simple, and delicious. Kinda funny that a cute quirky kid behind the register refused to sell me an 18 inch at whatever cost, but that’s ok, they have beer and strangely enough-chilled red wine. You’ve gotta consider the ups and downs of dealing with a little shop run by a bunch of high schoolers, but I’m okay with that-I’ll another four –make that five beers!

What does 2.49999999999 round to? That’s right, 2 — 2STARS!!! First my decision making process. The establishment is rated well but very few ratings. One of the 5 star ratings is from a person with only one review. But I recognize one of the quick tippers, Steve, and I am a little more comfortable. Then I look at details. Delivery, check. Pictures, cha-ching!!! Heart Shaped Pizza! Delivered on Valentine’s Day! Perfect! Well not quite… It is 8:05. I am told 45 minutes to an hour. WHOOPS!!! I guess they meant an hour AND45 minutes. 9:15 — I call, I am told he will be here soon. 9:25 — I call again, I am told he should be here, they will call him and call me right back. 9:35 — No call back. I call again. I am told he said he was turning into the complex and should be at the gate soon. I explain that I called 10 minutes ago and he would have been here if that was true. I am told to wait on hold while they call. 3 minutes on hold. I am told there is a lot of traffic, he is 2.5 miles away. 9:50 — I decide to go see if he is stuck at the gate. I get to the parking lot as he pulls in. He states he got lost in the complex. I said he should have called. He says that he has a friend that lives in my complex and he thought he knew where he was going. Pizza that is heart shaped yes. Unfortunately, it was also very uneven. Half was undercooked and half was cooked just right. Bigger problem. Cold pizza. Yup, pizza cools off after 1 hour and 45 minutes. So we put it in the oven. The thinner side was burned pretty good when we took it out. Overall, the pizza was still pretty good. Thin pizza with thin toppings, very much like Sbarro’s at the mall. And even fitting considering it was cold when it arrived and got reheated in the oven. Not very filling, but I still thought it was tasty pizza. Lucky for them or this would have been a 1 star rating. In the future, they could do a better job communicating with their customers. I will probably try this place again, but NEVER will I have them deliver! It also looks like they have tasty desserts, I will have to try them when I actually visit the store. Hopefully by then they have improved on consistency and communication!

OK, so I’ve driven past this place for a few years and just never had the time to stop in. I try to avoid Dale Mabry like the plague, so if I’m on that highway, I’ve got some place to be, and checking out new pizzerias ain’t on the agenda. Last week, my lil’ chica got me a Bay area coupon book from and lo and behold, there was a coupon for this place. We were heading out that way, so we gave it a shot, and boy were we glad! We ordered a sub and an eggplant parm pasta dish. While waiting, I noticed the slice pies were 18″ and there was a Grande cheese poster on the wall, so we figured an appetizer might be in order. what we got was a perfect slice, not cooked on a screen, delicious sauce, perfect crust, and of course there’s nothing like some Grande to top it off. I can’t get back fast enough to try a whole pie. The sub came out, and it was good. Not the best, but good. It had plenty of meat, but unfortunately, one of those meats was boiled ham. That’s a sandwich no-no in my book. Also, the bread was on the cusp of stale. But, the eggplant parm was ridiculous. It was as good as any pasta dish served up in any fancy Italian restaurant as far as I’m concerned. Well played, Amore’s. If you’re a NY pizza fiend like myself, and if you enjoy a good eggplant parm, I highly recommend you get over there and grab a bite to eat. Friendly staff, good prices, quality ingredients = win. Can’t wait to see what else is good on the menu.

Amore’s Fresh Slice Pizza is a great little Italian restaurant in Original Carrollwood. Their pizza’s are tasty and fresh — pizza crust is good and sturdy and they often run great pizza and lunch buffet deals. I’ve used them several times when I’ve needed to cater an event, or for my staff meetings. I’ve never been disappointed. Well maybe only once or twice… I’ve driven up late on a Friday or Saturday night and am disappointed to see them closed, and that only leaves me craving their pizza all the more!

My family loves this place! We order from there every Friday night for movie night with the kids. Great food and service. Always friendly staff. We’ve met the owners and they are also very friendly. Aside from the great pizza, the garlic knots are also a family favorite and when I want to spoil the kids we get some zeppoles. Highly recommend!
