Very good pizza. One of my favorites. I always enjoy this place. Great place to eat. The pizza is delicious.

With cheat day upon me I decided to go for my weakness… NY style pizza. I called them to ask for any specials and was offered an abundance of food for a great price buuuuuut I had only one day and all of that food would’ve lasted for a few. The man on the phone was very pleasant but I was still undecided. Saying I would call back I decided to check out their website. What did I see? My favorite topping ever! Canned mushrooms. Yes, canned(they offer fresh mushrooms as well) If you’re accustomed to NY pizza you know this taste! I was sold. I ordered a half onion & mushroom/half extra cheese pie. 30 minutes later i was in NY pizza heaven. Tastes just like home and the delivery driver was very friendly. I will definitely be ordering from this gem again… great customer service, quick delivery and delicious taste. Only suggestion I would make is cut the onion smaller but other than that Sam’s is top notch.

What can I say about Sam’s? Their staff is friendly and I absolutely love their cheese pizza! I don’t live anywhere near that restaurant but I definitely go out of my way whenever I have a craving for pizza(which is more often than I care to admit). Or I get someone else to pick it up for me when they’re in the neighborhood like tonight. Yum! Love this pizza! You should try it. Seriously.

Typical thin saucy slices and gooey cheese. I like a little crisp to my slice so they get points there. The service though… NEVER pay with a card if you’re like me and usually toss your receipt. I left the store after paying for my $ 8(including tip) order. They decided to charge me $ 12 when I saw my bank statement. Apparently a small tip for simply reheating and bagging a slice of pizza was not enough. I’ve only gone one more time since then, made sure to pay cash. **Went today for a quick slice. Taste was good, consistency of the slice was like French toast before it’s cooked. Disappointing.

0 stars needs to be an option. Ordered a medium half cheese pizza/half mush peppers. Girl taking order was mean as funk. Was hung up on twice before getting an order in, told 45min and then hung up on while saying thank you. 2 hrs later pizza shows up. Tipped delivery guy 5 $ and told him to keep the pizza. Wanted to try the pizza so bad, but I guess I will never taste it. 2+ hrs for a medium pizza?! #rated3rdonyelpreahright

Got a pizza from Sam’s last night(the meat lovers) and it had pretty good flavor, plenty of toppings, the crust was done just the way I like it — not overdone and doesn’t have that burnt flavor that seems all too common at other NY Style restaurants. I’d say watch out for the garlic rolls though — they really drown them in butter, so it’s a little much, but otherwise tasty. Wings were just so-so, fairly standard fare, but not bad, either. One of the better NY style pizza joints in Carrollwood, I’d say.

My Father in law owned an Italian restaurant north of Boston for 40 years. They did pizza GREAT! This is the closest I have ever had in Florida. Really nice folks there. A true version of northern pizza.

Good ny pizza. Apparently some low stars from people who don’t know ny pizza. It’s greasy and thin and slides everywhere. That’s why u fold it and eat it. And it’s Delish! And tho I didn’t try the wings– almost all pizza places use butter and hot sauce(which creates the oily that enabled some people to grade low) I only took off a star for the atmosphere but then again I came on Black Friday.

So I started to get hungry and didn’t feel like going out again, but saw on Unilocal that they closed at 10:30 on a Saturday night. I called at 10:29 to ask if the time was right and if they still were open and they said I had 1 minute to order. I placed my order for a large pepperoni pizza and a 2L of Coke. Not even 30 minutes later the pizza was at my door. Great customer server and the driver was cool. Kind of expected a grouchy person who had to do another delivery. The pizza was hot and fresh and was great as always. They have the best hands down. I use to order from the chain who advertises«better ingredients, better pizza», but truly this should be their slogan. I am excited to have found this pizza place and recommend anyone to try. I also have had their wings and they are really good as well. The wings are HUGE and have wonderful flavor. I think I got butter & garlic. Thanks for reading and enjoy your pizza!

I was expecting at least a decent pizza, considering the stellar reviews here. Just goes to show you really can’t trust Unilocal.I don’t know what all these other customers had, but here’s my take– This was an awful pizza. Really sad. The crust: sopping wet from the puddle of liquid that collected in the corner of the pizza box. The toppings: they all slid off. Had to eat them separately with a fork and knife with the sopping wet, flappy, tasteless crust in my other hand. The taste: literally like watered down Chef Boyardee. Like a mixture of Chef Boyardee and wet cat food. I’m not even joking. Really strange, awful taste with an aftertaste that lingers. Unilocalers, please keep it real.

Wow, maybe I am one of the dissenters here, but I didn’t enjoy this at all. I ordered wings with hot sauce on the side. Wings were good, not the problem at all, but the sauce seemed like it was marinara sauce(or whatever is on the pizza) with some Cajun rub rubbed onto the wings. I ordered hot sauce on the side and there was oil or grease floating on top. I ordered a pizza with fresh garlic and basil and pork toppings. Couldn’t see or taste the basil or garlic, but what I could taste was sugar. And it smelled funky to me. Food came as ordered and on time(VERY commendable considering it was Game 4 of the Stanley Cup) and the price was right… Was just kind of a lot of strange seasonings and smells … At least compared to what I am used to.

It’s your pretty basic and typical Florida pizzeria. We’ve ordered from here a few times, and both the wings and pizza fall flat. There’s never enough cheese to sauce ratio, and even when requested both the wings & pie to be extra crispy, neither typically are. It’s not bad, it’s just not great. The prices are however, significantly cheaper then even the allot of pizza places in Carrollwood.

Came in on a weekday night to have dinner. Not a long wait, they have plenty seating so we had it there. Great to have dinner with your family. The food is great, garlic knots are to die for. I’ve had great pizza in Tampa but this is in my top five for sure.

I like coming here when I visit Tampa. The slices are big, price is reasonable and they are pretty tasty. I also like you can order by the slice here.

Not only does Sam’s sell slices, but they also sell a ginormous 28″ pizza! Holy cannoli! They are home of the 28″ pizza challenge for those of you who can devour all those carbs within one hour. They will not only fund the pizza but will pay you $ 200 and give you a cruise. The carb coma would be thrown in at no additional cost! We went with a half cheese(mine) half pepperoni(his) pizza along with order of garlic knots. The pizza was pretty tasty for Florida. Being from NY, I give it my two thumbs up and would order from here again. They do not skimp on the garlic, drippy goodness, will surely keep the vampires away. Located in Carrollwood on Gunn Hwy, between Casey and Linebaugh it is close and that’s important too. I do enjoy leftovers but have never been a fan of cold pizza for breakfast. Heated up next day in oven(not microwave, eww!) and was just as good as night before.

I’m not a huge fan of NY pizza like my wife is, but I did like the pizza and garlic knots that she brought home. Since I’m from CA, I prefer my pizza quite a bit different than this. My wife will definitely buy this again, she thought it was the best she’s had. I’ll eat it again, but would need much more on it.

I’ve never eaten the pizza here… I come to Sam’s for their colossal stromboli and calzones. For $ 7.99 you can get a small stromboli with 2 fillings. You’ll get two meals out of it. More adventurous diners can order the medium-large calzones and stromboli. I’ve never seen anything like them — their mass is truly awe-inspiring. My very manly and ravenous male coworkers have tried to tame these giant stuffed Italian delicacies and fail time and time again. Everything is made to order so expect to wait a little bit. They have Pepsi products in their soda fountain(boo!), but you can get Coke products in cans.

Thanks to new Unilocaler, Paul B. for the heads-up on this neighborhood pizzeria and Italian restaurant in Carrollwood! Sam’s NY Pizza has two locations in the Tampa Bay area. The first is on Gunn Highway in between Linebaugh Avenue and Casey Road(just north of the traffic light at Mullis City Way). The second location is in Largo on East Bay Drive at the corner of Fulton and East Bay. Sam’s is a classic New York-style pizzeria specializing in thin crust pies with a wide variety of toppings, served by the slice or as whole pies ranging from 10″ all the way up to their behemoth 28″ monster pizza. The menu has salads, wings, calzones, stromboli, subs, classic Italian entrée dinners complete with butter-drenched garlic rolls, and the pizzas. I ordered the Meatball Parmesan pizza last night, and really enjoyed some fresh-from-the-oven slices when I brought the pie home. But for me the real test of a good pizza is how the thing tastes the next day. Yeah, you know who you are… you stagger out of bed at the crack of dawn and spy the pizza box still sitting on top of your stove… Mmmmmmm, leftover cold pizza!!! OK, now that I’m a bit older, I’ve put aside my college eating habits and instead pop a slice in the microwave. Day-old pizza is still the best way to judge a good pizza, and Sam’s passed that test. They offer dine-in, carryout, and delivery, and they are much tastier than the mass-produced slop served down the road.
