Bealls Department Store

Nothing that really made me say WOW! It’s just your typical department store. I do like the clothes here though cause they are good material for the most part. Plus they have pretty great sales

This place is very dangerous… in a good way of course. With all the deals they have, it is very difficult to walk out with just one thing! This particular store is well organized and felt I could find what I was looking for with ease. I absolutely love the men’s golf section. It’s very hard to find decent prices on big name golf shirts but this place is very reasonable.
I had never really thought of exploring the home décor section at Beall’s before. With a homegoods so close, why would I? Boy, you can find some gems in this section. I have 4 pictures hanging in my living room as a result. All were at 40% off! The deals never end here!

I walked out with a $ 34 men’s apparel item paying less than 50 cents. How is this possible? Well, with a 40% markdown, then using my $ 20 in Beall’s bucks from my last visit. The remaining balance after tax? Something like $ 0.48… yeah that’s IT.
How can you beat that? If I had allowed myself I would have shopped for more but I was determined to get one particular Christmas gift and not pay anything… mission accomplished.
The store is pretty well-​stocked, from clothing to kitchen items to toys and even some really cute accessories. The kitsch factor, like all Beall’s, is quite up there but I’m still a fan. It definitely gets crazy during the holidays with all the great sales– store was a little bit of a mess when I was there but still manageable. I can’t wait to go back and not spend money again!

This mid range department store recognizes its demographics and tries to capitalizes on the uniqueness of Florida and the life Floridians lead.
It has some nice clothes, at times some good sales and offers 2 unique features.
The first is free gift wrapping. I am so bad at wrapping I really appreciate this feature. Truthfully I have purchased items that I won’t be using for awhile, had them gift wrapped and had fun opening the present to me at a latter date. Okay, STOP its good to keep that inner child!
Second is when you find an item you want, but need a different color, size, more than 1… you can order it directly from the main corporation.
Sadly the stone, even in December, has become a ghost town.
The goods they offer are overpriced for the type of store that they are, all things being kept in perspective. The staffing is minimal and not very experienced.
Management never appears present. The Beall’s Bucks they supposedly offer, I have yet to see.
The customer is never right and the staff is not afraid to humiliate the customer and remind them that the store is in charge.
On a recent visit, they have clearance items with different colors representing the percentage that the item is discounted.
I had spent several hours shopping and had a substantial order for the Holidays. When I went to check out some items did not ring up at the sale price and their was no one present to help with the dilemma, so I was to accept the higher price for the items as the scanned computer price was different than the manual color placed on the ticket of the item. I requested management assistance and there were none available. Not a happy, tired shopper.
Next came the phantom mark downs in a color that was not displayed on their clearance signs. I assumed the greenish color must be the blue, as their was no green color listed. ANNNNTT WRONG!!! The customer was wrong again and told, «there is a sign or 2 in the store showing the green. I requested the associate accompany me to the nearest sales rack, no green. It was my fault that I did not discover some obscure sign in the store and believed the sales posters, silly me.
I again requested management and none could be located.
I was tired, fed up and had no love for the impertinent and mouthy sales associate. I told them I would not be needing any of the items & prepared to leave my $ 400+ order and the store, when I heard my oh so helpful associate tell me I couldn’t leave the items there, I needed to return them to where they belonged.
It was almost 3 hours of what ended up being wasted time, I bit my tounge and did not say the loving departing words I had for the associate or the store.
No, not a pleasant experience, but a valuable learning lesson. NEVER AGAIN.
What’s a girl to do? Shop on line, know exactly what you are getting at the mutually agreed prices, add the discount promo you found and have your feet up and a glass of wine while doing the necessary shopping.
They got the second star for gift wrapping.

I am not a huge Bealls shopper, but I am a 3x (cue rimshot). Unfortunately clothes-​wise, there is nothing in the store that I can fit into. That being set aside however, this the quintessential Florida store. If you want anything with flamingos, palm trees, or gulf life on it, Bealls is your one stop shopping. They have shelves of «As Seen On TV» merchandise and have aisles upon aisles of kitsch!
