Let me start off by saying that I’ve pretty much tried every bbq place in the area and I usually gauge the quality of each place by comparing it to Sonny’s bbq. Sonny’s is pretty much the middle ground of all bbq places in Florida so you are either better than, worse than, or just the same level as Sonny’s. I was excited to try this place since I’ve heard a lot of positive things from friends in the Northern part of Florida like Gainesville and Lake City. I ordered the 3 meat combo of pulled pork, texas brisket, and half a chicken. with a side of collard greens and french fries. We also ordered 2 additional sides of steamed corn and Mac n cheese. Our food came after 20 minutes. I don’t know how they were slow since it was not a busy Monday night but at least the server we had was nice. All of the meat except the chicken came out room temperature. The brisket was a little tough, the pulled pork was dry, but the chicken was moist and juicy. It was nothing our of the ordinary and I’ve definitely had better meat at Sonny’s. The collard greens were nothing special and the fries were just the crinkle cut ore ida. The corn was not sweet and the mac and cheese was teeming with oil. There were about 6 or 7 different bbq sauces and my favorites were the Moonshine and the yellow one. The others were not worth my time. All in all, I was not impressed with this place. For the same price, I could’ve just gone to 4Rivers or Hog Heaven. I may give it one more chance to try the fried green tomatoes or the ribs.

Was not impressed what so ever! Ordered the dinner for 4. Did not receive half the meats that are said to come with it, and what they substituted was no way comparable. Plus only received half of the sides. Will not be back again! There are far better choices for bbq in the immediate area. Do not waste your money or time!

I been in other bubbaques and I had good food, but I just had a bad experience in this one I order bbq chicken plate white meat and it wasn’t fresh, it was horrible liked it was from yesterday. Even the toast bread was bad. when I pay $ 10 and some change for a fast food meal I expect something good. I told server alexis and she said that’s a first. Really? That’s all she said the only thing it was fresh was the French fries. I don’t even know if they smoke the meat here because I don’t see no smoke coming out of the kitchen or outside. Anyway good luck everyone I hope you have a better experience than me

Delicious barbecue without any Jesus’y influence. How refreshing to have great food without the judgy Christian vibe. Thanks for being open on Sunday, bbq day!!!

I really liked this place. We have eaten once and taken out once. The meat is all good and the veggies are great. I love the collard greens. It is a little pricey, but is worth it once in a while. Everyone that works here is nice and really attempt to explain the menu. Great place so try it, on a rainy day when you don’t want to cook.

Once is enough for this joint. Surly service and cold pulled pork that would better be described as chunky pork — I had to cut it into manageable pieces to eat it. Served on Texas toast. Too many excellent alternatives for good BBQ within a few miles. Choose one of them instead.

Wow! Very good BBQ! My husband had the ribs and he said they were amazing. We had the jalapeño poppers and they were so different and very good! I had pulled pork and it’s the best I have had down here. The collard greens are better than what my dad makes(and I thought his were the best). And we have been to all the neighborhood BBQ places that have popped up… we will def be back!

Definitely the poorest of the approximately 6 bar b que restaurants on Dale Mabry. Others must have discovered the poor service, food etc as we were the only table occupied at 6 pm. I ordered the Brisket Plate and which came with bread and either 2 sides or a brownie. When the owner brought out the dinner it was on a small cookie sheet. I questioned if this was the Plate and he replied that it was the basket but he puts it on the cookie sheet for appearance. He also stated the I received 6 ounces of meat and if I truly had ordered the Plate I would have received 8 ounces of meat. In an effort to appease me the owner brought me a dish of cole slaw. When the check was put on the table I was charged for the plate and not the basket. The owner then came to ask if we enjoyed and I told him that I felt there was much confusion. Three times he told me that he gave me the cole slaw in an effort to make up for the poor service and the shortage of beef. He then went on to explain it is hard to get good help and although the waitress was good looking she was not too smart. I could go on and on but why waste more time on such a poor establishment

So we ordered fried pickles that are dipped in a cornmeal batter that changes the flavor in positively delicious way. For my mean I got their sticky bones, which was very good too, it kind of tasted like sweet bacon. It was pretty fatless, with a bit of crisp to it because they glaze them. I also felt extra fat, throwing my diet to the wind, and got my corn-on-the-Cobb deep fried. Everything was very delicious and they have so many different types of BBQ sauces to try. The women working there was super friendly and very patient with us while trying to ready their fairly large menu. She was really attentive and sweet, I wanted to steal her and take her home with me. This place is convent, fast and definitely worth a try. Tried this place a 3rd time recently and had different staff. The girl treated me kind of like I didn’t matter and was very bad as communicating. She never asked me what sauce to go with my dinner, just threw their original in there, and made me wait 10 min when I asked for another one(I got the hand up and«hold on» while she went to another table) and i was take out so I don’t get it?). And then got home and found I got the St. Louis ribs instead of the sticky bones. It still was good but the service was slackin’. I’ll give it one more try before I decide whether to move on or not.

I went on a Sunday when I didn’t feel like cooking and I had a craving for some BBQ. The place wasn’t too busy but it was small inside so just a few more people inside would have made it feel a little more lively. As far as the food I went to the counter(I was solo so I was ordering to go). The guy at the counter(Jordan?) was very patient with me and described some of the food items for me so I could choose wisely. I was at that point where I was too hungry to think straight so that was helpful. He offered to let me try a sample of the mac n cheese which I appreciated because I decided to pass and get the jalapeño poppers instead. The mac n cheese wasn’t bad it just wasn’t the home style baked mac n cheese I wanted. For my main BBQ I ordered the St. Louis ribs. They did the job of satisfying my BBQ craving but I’ve had better. They could definitely use more char or at least more of that smoke BBQ flavor. Just a side note: It’s in a location that has houses at least 4 different restaurants in the past few years and it’s almost right across the street from 4Rivers(another BBQ chain). Being that it’s so set back from the street it will be interesting to see how long they last. Not that I’m wishing for their demise but honestly Sunday’s might be their best bet because 4Rivers is closed on Sunday. Just a thought…

Stopped here yesterday at about 1:30 pm to grab some lunch while running errands. The place is very small and has limited seating. We placed our order at the counter and were able to find the last open table. What seemed strange is that the people at most of the tables were waiting for the food that they had ordered. We waited 40 minutes for out to sandwiches to arrive. That’s a ridiculous amount of time to have to wait for a sandwich. The food was very good. The brisket was moist and tender. The beans which had rib meet in them were exceptional. I would have given them five stars if the food had come out in a reasonable amount of time.

For the price, its not worth it. Best food in my opinion was the mac and cheese, and it probably wasnt homemade. Go to 4rivers for this price. As a Texan, it’s the only barbecue ill gladly pay for in Tampa

Ok it’s raining again but we go out to get some comforting BBQ. We ordered the family pack to feed 6 — even though we are only four people these boys can do some damage at the table. The ribs are fall off the bone delicious . Brisket is soft and flavorful without any sauce, pork is well cooked, juicy and soft. Fried okra was delicious as well the baked beans. Mac cheese was a bit mushy and bland. Also had fries — they were krinkle cut — but done crispy! The manager walked us out as we had several large bags. The food was plenty for all with a small amount left over for midnight snacking. This is some great food at a very decent price with good serving size. The food was packed and labeled with no spillage in the car.

I can’t really speak for everything but I had the brisket sandwich with collard greens. First off the collards are vegan(which is impossible to find because most bbq spots use bacon or hamhocks in their collards and other vegetables) and I don’t eat pork so I usually miss out on collards and bbq beans. The brisket wasn’t over seasoned which is my main issue with some other establishments but it had good flavor. Also the bbq sauces were all really really good because there was like 7 different kinds so everyone can find atleast 1 they like I would say. I will definitely be returning for dinner soon. The place was slow and the service was fast and courteous. All in all a great experience

I will admit, I was apprehensive to see ANOTHERBBQ place in the area. So glad we tried it! Reasonable prices and delicious food. Pulled pork was excellent quality. Tender, moist, and a sampling of nicely charred skin. There are seven different sauces to top everything off. Sides were great as well. Will definitely be revisiting for a quick, affordable, casual meal.

First time @ bubbaque’s. Chicken is well seasoned and moist. Meaty Ribs, Meat falls right off the bone. Mac and cheese and corn on point. We paid 35.00 a Little pricy, but worth it.

Really enjoyed their St. Louis style ribs they were fall off the bone tender and delicious, especially when smothered in their sauce. I really enjoyed their pork rinds and fried green tomatoes too. The side of okra was exceptional but the sweet potato fries were a little floppy. The brisket though it had a nice smoke ring was very dry and no matter how good sauce is it couldn’t compensate for the dryness. The sausages were flavorful and good. The lay out for the restaurant is kind of kooky, the restaurant that was here before had self service drink fountains and currently they are not self service but they are in an area easily accessed by customers and I saw a few people try and help themselves. As I write this I’m fighting the urge to stop by and grab a rack of St. Louis sticky bone ribs!!! Definitely be back to sample some for menu items.

I’ve been trying to figure out the name of this place for a while. I finally went into the plaza and saw the sign! You can’t exactly see it off the street. There’s no sign up yet expect the main sign above the restaurant. Hopefully, they’ll get a sign on the marquee board with the rest of the shops. It’s a bit hidden unless you’re going to Lowe’s or pure barre. It looks like a cabin when you walk in and you’re wondering to yourself. What am I about to get myself into? It has fun quirky décor on the walls. There are a few tables and booths and each table is equip with a plethora of sauces! Tangy, sweet, spicy, smooth… I just had to squirt a bit of each to figure out what I wanted to use. =) We walked in and the the vast menu made us have to take a step back and then I finally got a bit overwhelmed(because I wanted to eat everything) and had to sit down to figure out exactly what I would get that visit. The cashier/waitress was very sweet and let us take our time and went over the menu items we had questions on. Throughout our meal they staff was so nice and checked up on us and asked us about the products and how we liked it. I ended up getting Fried green maters, fried pork skin and a sweet tea to start. We got a 3 platter meal with sausage, brisket, and pulled pork. The batter on the maters were very good and dousing it with ranch made it even better. The fried pork skins brought me back to my childhood… you ate chips i ate prok rinds! I really enjoyed the sausage, the brisket was so tender. We got a side of fried corn mmmm and mac and cheese. I think their claim to fame will be the ‘sticky ribs’ make sure you get that one it has the sauce already all over it. They were fall off the bone yummy! So yummy I asked how much it would be to get a rack of ribs(~$ 25-$ 29 I believe) We’ll be back again to try out some more menu items soon i’m sure! =)

Welcome to Carrolwood Bubbaques! pleased to say it was pretty darn good. With alot of fresh flavorful choices on the menu, the mix and match possibilities in the you pick 3 dish made me a very happy camper. We choose the Texas brisket, Texas sausage & pulled pork and paired it with the corn on the cob & mac and cheese sides. Every dish we had was fresh and was piping hot on our plates. The meat on each piece we had was so tender and flavorful. My favorite though was the ribs. Fall off the bone fresh! Very flavorful, juicy and packed full of flavor. I’d def go back for another rack on my own! I also like the fact that there are about 8 different types of sauces to choose from to cater to everyone’s taste buds. Plus the staff is super friendly and was super nice to our table. The cool even came to our table on a few occasions to ask how our food was. Totally great experience all around!
