The only thing good was rolls! The service wasnt even good! My husband and my son and I ate here and i think my son was only one ate his only because it was pieces of chicken. My husband and i got steak and both came out well done the waiter even repeated what we wanted when i asked him what we wanted, he said those are well done, IF YOU WANT ill have them recook some, really if i wanted done steaks i would have said done! Not one manger came to apologize or ask about our meal! Yes im a very picky complainer when I go eat, i love going out to eat but i pay for it I want what i ask for to be right! No more Codys for me

I love steak, and I was SOOO in the mood for a big prime rib. I took my youngest with me and he had the giant steak burger, I ordered the 21oz prime. The ambiance was cool, and we didn’t have to wait real long to be seated or to be served. But what they brought me was one of the stringiest, toughest pieces of steak I’ve had in a while. Ive had better chuck or sirloin. The flavor was great, well seasoned. But tough and I let them know. The manager asked me about it and i pointed out that normally, a prime rib melts in your mouth, and this was like leather. She comped me. I’m going to give them another chance, and i’ll update the review and keep you advised.
UPDATE: The 2nd and third trips were much better.

Food was decent but service was horrible! We ordered food to go and it was ready in 20 mins. We signed the bill and went home to the barely warm food. We then checked our bank account the next day to find someone had tipped themselves $ 30 on our bill! We went in and talked to a manager who found the receipt where the server had gave herself the tip. Instead of being apologetic, she claimed it must have been an accident since the girl is new. They reimbursed the $ 30 but that’s it. Will not be back to this restaurant.

They weren’t horrible — but I won’t kill myself to go back either!
We were fortunate to have a great server (this did not make up for the bar tender, kitchen staff or manager, but he DID earn them an extra star).
Ordered the Tbone — what they sent out was disgraceful. The flavor WAS good and it was cooked to temperature, but immediately, the waiter tuned into my disappointment about the filet side. There was NOTHING!!! They basically charge a huge up charge for a strip because there is ZERO filet!
The manager came to the table and saw it as well — he then explained to me that if I actually wanted the other half of the Tbone, I should have ordered the 24 oz steak because the kitchen staff trims the filet for other cuts.
Later, got a refill of beer and the waiter was certain the bartender did not fill the right beer either — he was correct.

Dinner before I left for Scotland. I felt I should eat before I travel. So we stopped at Codys.
The food was good, normal Fare. I had a small steak, with veg and a salad. Which is pretty good for $ 12.00. The husband had the same. We were able to eat for under $ 30. Service was pretty slow, but it I think that was because it hadn’t been open that long (for the afternoon)

I received a gift check in the mail and figured why not give them a try. I should have followed my first mind and gave it away… I ordered a steak burger with sweet potato fries… the meal came out fries were cold… Waitress brought me another order of the same cold fries re-​dipped in grease seems like… fries are supposed to be soft on the inside not crunchy all the way through… she asked if round two was better I said no you would think she would offer something else… Nope she said nothing and walked away… I can say it was very disappointing. The burger had a weird taste to it. First and last time for me… I was hoping I found a new spot close to home not the case… Not for me

Excellent food and service. Great portions, including salad. Our server, Jermaine Kelly, top notch. This is a place you want to go to. Definitely a return visit.

Arriving today, this place seemed to be in sync. Greeted and sat quickly by a cheerful hostess. Server was excellent. So I asked for the Manager to explain my prior experience and Mrs. Kelly listened to my comments, addressed what needed to be and I want to say Thank you.
Both of us had the Top Sirloin, as always, it was cooked perfectly. The salad bowl was fresh and endless with some awesome rolls! Every time cant be perfect but recommend to go back again.

Several visits here since it’s near my Moms. It always appears that the Hostess stand is always confused and in disarray so in previous visit we just sat at the bar. This time at a table and the primary reason for the review was our server Kristina. I saw in a previous post where customers have called her out by name. She is excellent! She knows the product and is aware of her customers needs. Probably the best I’ve received service I’ve received !!! This girl knows what she’s doing. Food wise the rolls and cinnamon butter is heavenly! Food is grilled to perfection. I had the BBQ Chicken Mom had Steak fajitas Their endless salad is very good as well. Will return!

Came here on the recommendation of my parents. The service was great, Kristina was our waitress and took excellent care of us. The food was delicious and prices are fair. The 2 for 1 drinks are a nice deal. I had the chicken fried chicken which was really good. All of the entrees come with a salad, rolls, and a side so you will NOT leave hungry. The garlic fried shrimp are really good. The kids meals are your typical chicken tenders, mac n cheese, burgers etc… so nothing spectacular there. Overall I recommend Cody’s and do plan on returning.

Tried Cody’s for the first time today. I ordered the Ribs & Chicken combo. The ribs were a bit fatty, but they tasted good. Chicken was good also. My meal included garlic mashed potatoes with gravy. The gravy was somewhat spicy and salty. Kind of regret getting it on the mashed potatoes, but it wasnt too bad. Atmosphere was pretty quiet. Overall a nice place for a family lunch/​dinner

A good steak and American good option in West Tampa. It will not blow you out of the water but will not disappoint either. The unlimited salad and bread is a good feature to the menu, as well as the cinnamon butter.
The inside has an old time greaser/​60s motorcycle theme to it.
Overall, I would say Codys is not a bad option if you want traditional burgers & fries or a nice nice juicy streak meal. Tons of menu items and the sides aren’t bad.
One of the main things that stop me from coming here more often, as a sports fan, is how their televisions are arranged. When you’re at the bar, you have to twist your body completely around and it’s hard to see the game you want if that particular game isn’t playing directly behind you. You can watch multiple games in most restaurants or bars and while its theoretically possible here, Cody’s makes it really difficult.

Really good!
The ribeye steak was cooked great. Juicy and really filling. Loved the loaded baked potato. Really recommend this place.
Buddy ordered the ribs and they were fall off the Bone. Moist and good
Loved the cinnamon butter with the dinner rolls. Rolls are made fresh and buttery.
Free peanuts. You get a bucked full. Be careful and don’t eat too many. You won’t eat your dinner.

Another one of those places that I have driven by forever while never stopping inside to give it a try.
The atmosphere was better than I expected and sitting in the bar area was rather comfortable.
There are all sorts of specials here depending on when you visit and where you sit. Every employee was either friendly to me or clearly keeping busy doing their job for other customers.
I was impressed with the amount of food that I received for the price and the taste did not disappoint either. (BBQ roasted chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, salad, rolls and honey butter.)
No complaints at all and pleasantly surprised overall. Oh, and all my food was presented to me with relatively little wait for 6:30pm on a Thursday night.

I don’t know what I was expecting when I first decided to finally try this place. I’ve been driving by it for so long and on a whim just headed on in. I was a bit confused on where to sit, the floors had peanut shells all over (which give the place character), and the tables had paper over it (which you can draw on). I know some people really like this kinda feel to a restaurant, and if it was a bar than I would too, but it still felt a little taboo to throw peanut shells on the floor, haha. It has a very unique environment, kinda like chili’s, but just different.
The service was ok, it was a little hard to understand our server but she was really patient and gave us time to search through the menu. After a wait we got our food and chowed down. Nothing amazing popped out to me about the food, its just roadhouse food.
All in all i’m glad i could finally check this place off the list. It has a very cool look to it outside, and a unique feel inside and is worth a try.

This place was ok. We had been meaning to go here for a while. It is definitely roadhouse styled. Free peanuts and peanut shells on the floor and a table you can write on. I got a shrimp meal and it was actually pretty good. I don’t know how they cooked the shrimp but I wanted to eat it all. It feels kinda dirty inside. Even though I liked the shrimp I don’t know if I would go back again.

Excellent. Felt like having some buffalo wings and onion rings. This place did not disappoint.
I asked for the spiciest wings they had. When the wings came out they were dry. No sauce on them and very little flavor definitely not very hot. I asked the waiter if he could bring over some hot sauce or something to dress them up a bit and he said he would take him back into the kitchen and get them fixed up. And he sure did. The wings came out slathered in some kind of red spicy sauce I have no idea what it was but they were incredible.
And the onion rings were top notch. They came out hot crispy and not greasy. This place did not disappoint.
2÷10÷16 Got the steak fajitas… not really steak fajitas… simply steak and onions. Typically you would expect peppers with the onions and also some seasoning, like maybe fajita seasoning… not even salt & pepper on the steak… oh well. Tasty, fresh, but not Mexican fajitas… serves me right for ordering fajitas.

We’ve been back a few times and have never been disappointed. Last night we ordered take out, which included Bacon Cheeseburgers, Fries and Chips & Salsa and Queso. All were fresh, very well prepared and tasted excellent. Everything was packed with care, and not just tossed in a bag.
This place knows what they’re doing and is the reason it normally has a good crowd of customers, including us!

Wow we had a blast. Came here with 14 people and everybody had something different and the food was out of this world. Can’t wait to come back. Wish I lived near by.
