First, the staff is amazing, friendly, patient, go out of their way to help.
Location is prime for the convention, walkway on second floor connects both.
Beautiful Riverwalk adds to the romance, but they could use more eateries in the area.
TIP#1 Don’t bother with mobile check in, you still have to get in that long line to check in!
Lobby is crowded and a obstacle course most the time. They need a renovation and update the décor, rid the water fountain and multiple plants.
Pricey for parking and rooms that could use more outlets by beds for mobile units as well as other upgrades.
Wifi is weak, sparactic in living room, and nonexistent in my 3^rd floor bed room.
TIP#2 Do not stay on third floor if you expect to use the stairs. They are outside and upon exiting you cannot return without gong to the lobby and taking the elevator. Plus it’s noisy, the sounds from the lobby echo.
Though there’s a Starbucks, it is not the real one, and there’s always a line, all the way int the hotel.
Breakfast is good but if you don’t like omelettes, not very different from other more economical hotels.
I would give a poor rating because I had all sorts of problems, as if I was jinxed from 4 days of stay. However, the staff did fix most of them, did what they could, and sincerely cared.
Traffic downtown is horrendous too.

It’s fine. If you need a place with space and don’t want to spring for two rooms this is for you.
The design of the hotel leads to noisy nights as the architect decided to have the bedrooms face the street side and also decided to have a huge hole in the middle of the hotel that funnels all the noise from the lobby.
Valet lost car. We were late to dinner party.
Breakfast is good. Made to order omelettes and bacon. Good selection of hot food.
Managers reception I didn’t have time to visit.
Beds comfortable.
It’s not elegant. It’s a good middle of the road hotel in a good location if you have an event at convention. Otherwise you will fight traffic getting to the hotel anytime there’s an event at the ice palace.

The rooms are a bit run down. The valet team lost the car temporarily.
The hotel staff is pleasant. The omelet station cook did a nice job!

This is one of those «it’s not bad it you get a great price» type of hotels. If you are staying at an Embassy Suites, you already know that on the plus side, you get a larger than average room, and typically a free happy hour with very light snacks. On our stay, we opted to pay the extra and stay in a premium suite. With this came access to a snack machine dedicated to that floor, a Keurig coffee maker in your room, and what we thought would be a premium location in the hotel. In the case of Tampa, don’t bother with this option. The machine ran out of snacks on day one of our 3 day stay, and was never replenished even though we asked multiple times. The «premium» room was located on the 5^th floor of an 18 floor hotel. Sure would have been nice to have the room on a nice high floor to see a view of the city. They obviously did not think this idea through when putting in the option for premium rooms.
As for the hotel itself, it is showing its age. Parking is horrible, but in the city, you are stuck with what you can get. Here is is a $ 24.00 valet only type deal. The breakfast was above average, more than I was expecting. There is a trolley car that goes through Tampa, and one of the stops is right outside the hotel. The pool here is quite small for a hotel of this size. Overall, you can do better in the city, or go just outside of the city.

It was Okay Hated the Fact that you could only park via Valet at $ 24.00 a night. Breakfast was okay and Manager Reception drinks was good

Embassy Suites is a moderately priced hotel chain that boasts free hot breakfasts, free evening reception with snacks and drinks and the fact that each room is a suite — a bedroom and a small sitting/​living room. This property was fairly typical of the chain. The rooms were clean and well maintained. Housekeeping did a fine job each day. The front desk folks varied greatly — from unfriendly to very helpful and nice. The location was good, plenty of stuff within an easy walk distance and there was a trolley stop right outside, which we didn’t use during our stay. It’s right next to the convention center as well, with a footbridge connecting the two.
The downstairs bar just OK — food and drink was average, but the staff seemed a bit put out by having to serve people.
There were 4 elevators for the 20 or 21 floors and at times took a while to get one.
The fitness center was very small, but had a couple treadmills, ellipticals and some other equipment. The outside pool was small but seemed nice, although we didn’t use it. All in all, an OK stay.

First off let me say that downtown Tampa is so lame! Nothing to do, no beautiful people to see. Don’t get me wrong, the city is beautiful, but no shopping or boutiques. Came here for a conference that was across the street at the Marriott. Everyone in the hotel, to the restaurant, gardeners, and housekeeping are so polite. The made to order breakfast and all other food options are awesome. Then the cocktail and snack hour is fun. My only thing, this hotel is huge… waiting for elevators is a pain during the day and mornings.

Stayed here for 4 days with a friend for a conference that was across the street. I booked in July (conference was Sept 30-​Oct 4) and my room with AAA was a 2 room suite with 2 queen beds, fridge and microwave for $ 164 a night. No free shuttle, but super shuttle got me here for regular fare of $ 12 one way (I found a $ 3 off coupon online, so $ 9). If you bring a car, expect to pay for Valet ($ 24/​night) or self park ($ 13/​day) and it didn’t seem to have a whole lot of of parking around.
Free breakfast in the AM– more than some of the usual stuff. They do have a cook to order station (looked like Omelets), then things like pancakes/​eggs/​cereal/​fruit/​yogurt, etc. They also have free happy hour (read free drinks) 530 – 730 pm daily with snacks. Free wifi if your a Hilton Honors member, but by no means is it the best internet in the world (they really need to work on that). If not, you have to pay for internet. They do have computers with printing capabilities in the lobby.
Room was nice and spacious (Living room type thing with a TV, fridge/​microwave in the connector thing across from the bathroom and 2 queen beds in the bedroom). Bathroom was decent. We both slept well.
Bonus points for the staff on check out for splitting the bill for us and giving us a copy of our bill with only what we were paying for (helps us for work/​reimbursement purposes). I will say though, an extra person on check in would have been nice.
They do have a fitness room with 2 treadmills, an elliptical and some weights. No water fountain or water station though, which would have been nice. Pool on the 3^rd floor. Really only a one lane pool, so skinny.

Well this hotel is in the heart of Tampa. The view is amazing of the bay it is close to a few restaurants within walking distance. You do have to valet your car for $ 24 a day or self park for $ 13 a day. All the rooms are nice and there is free breakfast and free open bar for happy hour. The hotel is very clean and the staff is very friendly. It is also much nicer than the other Embassy suites in Tampa.

I stayed here a few years ago. My room was clean and cozy aside from the roach issue (read my other review). This stay was different. It feels as if the property has gone down since then. My room had an odor like mildew or mold that we couldn’t seem to get rid of with air freshener. Also, when you turn the water temperature knob to a certain point, there would be this loud, continuous noise and the knob would start to shake rapidly until you turned the knob slightly to the right or left. Problem was, that exact agitated point on the knob was the perfect temperature setting for me so I always had to have my water either slightly too hot or too cold. Very annoying. But the main issue we experienced can’t really be explained by the hotel staff. We were two families, in two different rooms and both families experienced allergy problems while in the shower. The water from the shower seems to burn the eyes and almost immediately after the eyes begin to burn, severe sneezing begins. I initially thought it was the hotel hair conditioner but at breakfast, my cousin asked if I was feeling weird while in the shower. He explained the exact same symptoms but he had not used the conditioner. Then a woman who was eating nearby overheard our conversation and she said the exact thing was happening to her. That night, I was rinsing my daughters hair after swimming and she began to cry and said the water was burning her eyes and then she began sneezing as well. This morning I heard my husband sneezing while he was in the shower. I went to the desk and asked about the water in the hotel and they looked at me as if I were crazy and said they have never heard anyone complain of this. Weird, we all experienced this and we weren’t on the same floor. The woman was staying on the 18^th floor and we were on the 4^th. Can’t say the water made my skin feel any different but my hair certainly did. It felt hard and wiry after shampooing and so did my daughters’. I blame the water for sure! I can’t understand why the hotel staff are saying they’ve never heard this before when it seems like a common occurrence. Morning breakfast was ok… much better than a lot of other free breakfasts. They have an omelette station and a small hot buffet with scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, and sausage. The area gets crowded at times but they have a sign near the elevator that lets you know the high traffic times for breakfast. Most of the staff was pretty nice in the hotel except for an overzealous young guy at the front desk. It’s not that he was rude… he just has a «know-​it-​all» way about him that came across as a little annoying and especially since he decided to jump into the conversation I was having with another desk person and give me an answer that ended up being very wrong. I don’t think I will ever stay in this hotel again. There is a Marriott across the street that I normally stay in but Hilton Honors sent me an email with an offer I couldn’t refuse except whenever we went to the desk to inquire about the offer we had, no one seemed to know anything about it. Overall, the stay was a little bad and I don’t think I’ll stay again.

We arrived for our stay excited for the weekend. We requested 6 bath towels daily, and that never happened. TV reception in living room was not working, and were told that was controlled in California and nothing could be done. A/​C was not working properly that too was controlled from elsewhere and unable to cool room to our satisfaction. We had to call every day for towels. After calling three times and still not towels, we canceled our dinner, and ordered take in. We spoke with Manger Hunter. Hunter apologized and assured me we would have issues resolved. TV tech came up and said we were not a priority but promised he would have it fixed 100% and would come back to check, never happened. Hunter was personally bringing 12 towels up six for that day and 6 for the next morning I had requested this. He called back tied up and sent staff who brought 6 towels, when placing towels on table he dropped towel on the carpet, looked chuckled and walked away. We had a free breakfast for two and the scrambled eggs and omelette had a very unusual taste and texture. I don’t believe these eggs were cracked fresh that morning. Well we felt sick and sure enough, vomiting is not the best way to travel back home. The list goes on and on, but this was this was most unnecessary.
We are sad t see your staff did not live up to your standards.

Rooms are large and clean, with complimentary bottled water on check-​in. There is no WiFi and parking costs $ 20 per day in addition to the already steep room rates. Check in took forever, as they only had one agent at the front desk while phones were ringing off the hook. The windows in the room either looked out towards the hallway (there goes your privacy) or at a cement wall. Cable channels didn’t work except a few.
The buffet breakfast is included and features omelet stations, scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausages and hash browns. The pastries, breads and fruit were weak. Oatmeal was just okay, watery but at least it was a healthy option next to all the white breads and greasy stuff. Coffee is horrible, worse than dish water. Thankfully there is Keurig in the room and a Starbucks on site.
The entire hotel is pretty much a zoo, lines everywhere, from the reception to the elevator to the buffet. Only four elevators, you wait forever and then pile in like sardines. The property is noisy, we could hear people upstairs using the bathrooms and the buffet plates clinking in the morning. The courtyard style lobby makes everything echo. Overall very impersonal and simply too big and not a great value for the price.

Room was nice however you could hear everything that went on in the hallway (all hours of the night). Outlet in restroom didn’t work (room 1003).
Front loby staff was helpful and courteous and valet service was fast and pleasant. The complimentary breakfast buffet offered a very large selection and there is a starbucks in the main lobby as well. Nice fitness center to boot. My biggest gripe is the noise that you can hear all night that comes from inside the hotel. Whether it’s ice machines, the elevators or other guests the sound really traveled and made for a not so great (or restful) night. I would probably not stay there again.

Mixed review, for sure… Wow, we’re paying nearly $ 300/​day for hotel rooms here, which would get you at least a nice 4-​star hotel in any major city. And the room is the typical Embassy with living area, kitchenette and so on. But nothing fancy.
The bar is fun, active. Clean area and I like the SMALL but comfortable pool and gym.
I’m here late and trying to get food — can’t find someone at front desk (he came out a few minutes after I was yelling for help, no bell or buzzer). Then I got the «late night» menus from the places he recommended and none were answering. NO food — nothing at all in the minibar but two $ 4 water bottles. No food machines I can find. I’m calling the front desk and no one is answering.
There is FREE Wifi — but it takes 2 – 4 minutes to open an email. $ 10/​day for anything faster. No way you could watch a youtube video or do serious business here on that.
Lucky to get 2 stars from me; this would be maybe expected at $ 100/​day but at these prices — please skip it and go elsewhere.

As a regular business traveler I’ve become accustomed to long lines, short tempers, and the frustrations that come along with living life away from home. I consider myself a relatively patient individual but my experience at this Embassy Suites in Tampa has by far been the absolute worst!
I travelled in early and attempted to check-​in around 1 pm. My room wasn’t ready and I was told that I would be called no later than 3pm which is acceptable. Here it is, 7pm and housekeeping still hasn’t cleaned numerous rooms and handfuls of frustrated people sit around waiting in the lobby for rooms to come available.
The receptionist made an excuse for the manager who was apparently with the housekeeping team rather than confronting adversity and making the situation right with paying customers with «so called guaranteed reservations».
For those that have stayed in Embassy Suites, the accommodations of this location is status quo. However, the management of resources is unforgivable and will certainly make me look elsewhere next time I come to Tampa on business.

It’s a bad thing when a hotel sits on an excellent location and just phones in everything else because it can. I was less than impressed with my experience.
Here are the positives. The front desk staff was friendly and the room was clean. There they are.
Here is everything else. The valet parking is expensive, inefficient and my two contacts with the valets were not good. The valets were rude and very slow to help. The breakfast opened 5 minutes late and was quickly overwhelmed. I understand that the chain’s model for breakfast can be challenging. That said, they need to make changes beyond warning other guests that teenagers will flood the place and suggest alternatives. Our room was quite loud from the elevator machinery. This is an architectural/​engineering issue which should be addressed. Our experience in the Trolley Restaurant and the in house Starbucks was less than satisfying as the service was not what one should expect. Trolley’s was slow and the Starbucks staff could not operate the oven which resulted in no hot food. We were forced to deal with the hoarded at the free breakfast.
I’ve stayed in this hotel several times and the experience has been consistently mediocre. I prefer the property across the street, but it is often booked up first. As my travel plans are usually“spur of the moment”, I’ll probably be forced to stay here again. I hope they change.

I have only positive things to say about this hotel; the location, staff, rooms and accommodations. I’ve stayed at this Embassy years ago and it looks like it has had a fairly recent remodel. The rooms were very clean and furniture looked new.
There is a pool and gym on the 3^rd floor, the pool is outside but it is heated!
It’s right in downtown Tampa, walking distance to the convention center, the aquarium, restaurants and bars.
The rooms are large complete with a mini kitchen & living room area with seperate bedroom.
I think the best features of the hotel was the complimentary open bar every night from 5:30pm-7:30pm and free breakfast in the morning until 10:30.
There is an additional fee for valet parking, $ 24 a night but that is pretty standard for hotels in the city.
Overall it was a nice hotel & perfect for a little Valentine’s Day getaway!

Great location. Clean room.

I had a free two day stay because my previous stay in June was not good. The free two day stay was sent as a certificate via USPS. I arrived 12÷31÷14 I submitted my certificate and they could not find it on check out and charged me the full amount. The lady at the front desks name was Li. I asked to speak with the manager. His first name is Damir. He said he would take care of it and call or email me. Li took my contact information. It has been 1 whole week and I haven’t received a call or email from either of them and I left two voice messages for him. He also said they would give me a certificate for one night stay because I left a day early. I haven’t received that either. The ice machines are on every other floor and they did not work I had to go to four different floors. When I called the front desk they told me to go to yet another floor to find Ice because the machines weren’t working. I just find that unacceptable.
The managers hour is not great, I have had better at the Embassy Suites Chicago, but the breakfast is good.

I felt a little spoiled during my three-​night stay here. It exceeded my expectations. $ 99/​night for a two-​room suite, a phenomenal breakfast and a two-​hour happy hour? I know where I’m staying next time I visit Tampa.
The room itself is spacious, a TV in both the living room area and the bedroom, the two spaces separated by a door. The breakfast not only is a buffet of the usuals but there are two made-​to-​order stations that, unsurprisingly, always had a long line. On top of that, there is yogurt, pastries, bagels, muffins, cereal, pancakes, oatmeal, etc. And don’t forget coffee, tea and even hot chocolate.
The happy hour takes place every night, an endless flow of red and white wine, about 2 – 3 beer handles, two cocktails and liquor. There were pretzels, pita chips and three types of salsas! Add in a small workout room, an outdoor pool, a connected Starbucks, a business center that let me print my hockey tickets for free, free basic WiFi that let me do a little bit of work — while the hotel is usually where I spend the least amount of time, I spent a lot of time inside here.
It’s also in a great central location, less than a 15-​minute walk to the downtown core, and the trolley/​bus stops right in front of the hotel. Also, the lobby/​atrium area of the hotel is quite grand because it includes the eating area/​hotel bar. While happy hour/​meals can be a tight squeeze, there’s plenty of other lounging spots/​chairs surrounding it.
The only thing about this place is that the front is occupied by valet parking only so if you get dropped off or picked up via shuttle (like me), it feels like you’re actually driving through the hotel to go around to the back. You’re not on the actual road but the brick grounds of the hotel. And let’s just say it’s a tight squeeze.
Also, room service is from the restaurant/​bar that’s connected to the hotel. So get yourself down there rather than ordering room service to avoid all those extra «delivery and service» charge fees (two separate costs).
