I came in here and the drinks didn’t mix well with my medication. I ended up having my grandson drive me home but we stopped and picked up some lady man off the corner of East Palm. Maryland used to make love to me. I wish my damn grandson would have told me those hookers were trannys. I gotta go get checked now. Never drinking here again. Made me so thing I can’t remember and my kids wont call me.

Just in Tampa for the night so decided to check Ybor City. Came across this little spot and decided to check it out. It’s spacious and chill vibes. Once you pass the bar, there is an open area that has additional seating. I recommend trying the couches because they are definitely very comfy. Although the the vibes were chill, the lack of service was unappealing. Unfortunately there was only one bar tender serving drinks inside, so we ended up having to go outside, in the rain. It was a little ridiculous but we made it work. However, our experimented outside was much different than the outside. The bar tender outside was very attentive, communicative, and made us feel welcomed. He told us where we should and should not go while we were visiting. Good talks. Through the recommendation of our newly made friends and their dog, we tried the Garlic Parmesan Wings mixed with their«Fire» sauce. The wings were delicious, but the fire sauce seemed to have been over powered by the other flavor. Overall, we had a great time as visitors and I’m sure you will too!

Standard bar and grill; exactly what you’d expect. But, bathrooms attendants? Seriously? I’d rather not be extorted out of $ 1 in a small, awkward bathroom every time I have to pee. Especially when there’s a random dude staring at me the whole time. So tacky and trashy. I’ll stop in for a beer, but I’m down the road before I need to pee.

I attended for the Sunday buffet. The buffet is pretty large, offering an omelet station and even crab legs. The food was pretty good, but the service was slow and inattentive. I was drinking mimosas and had pretty much given up on asking for a refill, when the waitress returned, but seemed annoyed. I ordered the beverage, but never received it. The staff was also slow at refilling low or old food. It’s a little pricey to not have better service and fresh, hot food kept full.

I’ve been away over a year, now, but Gaspar’s still holds a warm, warm spot in my memory. Maybe some clever and enterprising soul would like to start an extension of the company in Central California. We have the advantage of being in the middle of the agricultural heart of America, on a set of major north-south and east-west transportation corridors, on the route to Vegas and Reno from the SF Bay Area and the Pacific Northwest, on the route from San Diego/Los Angeles to Seattle, and within airport connections to pretty much everywhere. Helloooooo, erstwhile friends and others! Lange’s not back … but I’d love to hear from y’all. .

Just finished dinner. Food was really good. Kitchen staff is on point! Took over 10 min before we got our server for drinks. Never got our appetizer. Seems like the wait staff is poorly trained or just doesn’t care. Saw wait staff numerous times at the outside bar just hangin out. We are accustomed to NC service.

I was in Tampa for business and wanted to get to Ybor City since it’d been years since I’d been there. Gaspar’s was open but not crowded so I stopped in and had a seat at the bar. The cuban sandwich was delicious, along with the fried plantains, and went perfectly with the cold beer. The only thing that kept them from 5 stars is that the bartender disappeared for over 20 minutes, so my beer ran out and I couldn’t get my check to leave & go elsewhere. But I’d definitely recommend stopping in if you’re in the area, and have a seat out on the patio.

We went here for Sunday brunch. We had a choice of $ 16 food buffet or $ 34 food and booze and seafood buffet. Most of our party went for the $ 34 deal but my boyfriend and I had to be responsible so we did the $ 16 deal. Neither was a bad deal. The food was awesome. They had the usual scrambled eggs and waffles(which you could make yourself!!) but also some stuff I didn’t expect to see at a buffet. Two words! Gouda! Mashed potatoes… Ok that’s three words. Doesn’t matter, it was amazing! There was a spicy shrimp with basmati rice which I loved which is weird because I hate shrimp. The coolest thing(which we didn’t get to enjoy but our friends did) is how they did the mimosa and Bloody Mary bar. You choose between a bunch of different juices(guava, orange, mango, etc) and they just left the champagne bottle(or little carafes of vodka) on the table for you to make your own. The staff was awesome. Everyone was friendly and they handled our huge 12 top without blinking an eye. The patio is dog friendly so we got the extra bonus of doggy friends at the table next to us. I would absolutely do this again and go for the bottomless drinks when I don’t have to be responsible later.

The Sunday buffet food was great. Enjoyed the atmosphere– great patio with good music. However, service was slow. Waited way too long to ask for our check. Would go back & enjoy the buffet again. Plus– it’s always great when we find dog friendly patios!

Okay so I try to be fair but this place is just ridiculous. So to start I order the fried pickles they were by far the worst I’ve ever had and for eight dollars you’d think they’d at least be okay. My appetizer took 25 minutes and my main meal took 35 minutes. I order their version of what was like a seafood pasta. I will say I’ve had better out of a chef boyardee can witch I can buy for a dollar. My bill here was seventy dollars! Wow two meals and a few drinks really? The whole place needs a good cleaning. thick dust on the tv’s and light fixtures. All around just a really bad experience. There is sooo many good places in Ybor don’t waste your time here. Everything is over priced and the drinks are watered down. It’s really sad because I wanted to like this place but couldn’t find not one good thing to say. I’m sorry but when my bill is seventy dollars and I can’t finish my meal because of how gross it was I don’t go back. Read my other reviews you’ll see I’m fair this place well earned their one star. I will say our waitress was nice but let’s face it that only goes so far. I will never step foot in this place again and I hope this will save someone from making the same mistake I did.

We stopped in for a drink on a Sunday afternoon. I don’t understand why all the bars in ybor insist on leaving all their windows and doors open in August… It was SOHOT inside. Our bartender was more interested in discussing her hair with another server than with seeing that our drinks were empty, so we left after one drink…

This is one of my favorite places to go on Sunday Funday! I’ve never tried the«Booze Cruise» for $ 35, but I’ve certainly enjoyed some other brunch options. Mimosas are only $ 2 and Bloody Marys are $ 3(and they are strong!). If you want to eat unlimited food, they have a $ 15 buffet option which includes crab legs and desserts too. Brunch ends later than other places so you get more bang for your buck here! There are plenty of good craft beers on draft and a full liquor bar. The staff has always been friendly and attentive on my visits. Gaspar’s has indoor and outdoor seating, which plenty of fans and shade for the hot sunshine. They have live music and DJs. This is a nice place for couples, families, gatherings, and so on. A fun pirate bar/restaurant located in the heart of Ybor City. Parking can be rough due to the location and there is not a designated parking lot for this place. Your best bet would be the parking garages or side street 2 hour spots.

They have gotten away from what we originally loved about this place. They are just turning into another hipster crowd bar. The unfriendly(hates his job) bartender outside said he doesn’t even think they do the dog days outside anymore. How does he not know for sure? Anyway, we had heard this place was changing to bring in the younglings so we came back to see for ourselves. It was nice knowing ya G. G, but we are too different now. It’s not me, it’s you, and your new friends, they lack maturity and class.

Best thing about this place is the outside dog friendly patio. There’s a lot of tables for groups to sit. There are fans and shade, and there is a bar to drink, and a stage for bands and other performers. Food on the other hand here is no big deal. I use to think it was better actually. We ordered the tostones with shredded pork with cheese, and guava sour cream. The guava sour cream is what makes it the best, but I just didn’t think this was anything special and stuff just seemed to be plopped on to the tostones. I guess maybe you can just consider this like bar food. They have other food. Cuban Sandwiches here are suppose to be really good. They have other Cuban type influence foods as well in appetizer, salad, sandwich, or entrée options. We also ordered a half carafe of sangria. It gave us about 5 or 6 servings since the glasses were small. They were pretty tasty, but not like I would go out of my way for it. Gaspar’s Grotto is the typical pirate theme bar. One of those that if you are in Tampa, you should check out. But I say go to hang out with friends, drink and have a fun time. Food, no biggie biggie. They do have a generous size doggie order that you can ask for. It use to be on the menu, but it’s not now. Our last one they gave us for our doggie was rice, and pork. no seasoning. It is $ 2 for a small take out container. It’s quite a bit.

When we arrived at Gaspar’s no one greeted us and we eventually decided to seat ourselves. Once we took our seats 10 minutes passed before a server came to our table. The server seemed disinterested with us and the apathetic service continued right up until the moment she brought the check. We both ordered the cuban sandwich. The cuban sandwich at this establishment probably has enough meat on it for 2 sandwiches. It was so packed I was only able to eat ½ of it. The sandwich was tasty but different from the typical cuban sandwich, and definitely worth a try. We also ordered guacamole and chips which were delicious. Gaspar’s is a decent sized place. We sat inside because it was a little on the warm side but there is also plenty of outdoor patio seating. If you want to enjoy adult beverages Gaspar’s has a large bar, and I’m pretty certain that if you come on a Friday or Saturday night, that the place is more of a party/drinking joint rather than a restaurant. I would have given Gaspar’s more stars, but the service was that bad.

Gaspar’s Grotto… my how you have changed. This once quiet pirate bar is now a happening place to be! Let it be known… I am not reviewing the food, just the party. 3 different areas to chose from. 2 patios and one inside area. The pool tables have been removed from the inside and replaxed with a DJ booth and a small dance floor. 3 areas= 3 DJs, 3 bars and plenty of seats. It is rare to find a place to dance that also have a place to rest your tootsies when they get sore. Friendly staff is rare in this town but Gaspars has it. Every make, model and age is welcome here! No one is out of place. Best time I have ever had in Ybor!

This Ybor City place is fun on a Monday night when my friend Doyle’s rockin country band is playing live music on the outdoor patio. $ 2PBR and Rolling Rocks. So how can you beat that? And what else is there to do o a Monday night anyway? Gaspar’s has really gotten popular in recent years, and you can see why. It’s very comfortable and they have good food and cheap drinks. You can’t go wrong here, if you’re in Ybor.

OMG… Cuban Sandwich is roasted pork fine! Mojitos cool & refreshing. The Devil Crab was to my N’awlins standard and some! Sunday Brunch is a bargain and the perfect sampling to review from!(I had just runa Gasparilla race and it would have been too much for me). I must hit it soon though. A combo also performs on the patio which is the perfect place to chill. It was filled when our party of six arrived. I simply asked the young hostess to make it happen for us and we would wait. She did just that in a decent time. Our server was very attending as well. We had runners from out of town, I wanted to continue the Haspar them so why not the Grotto! Man, I got lucky and our peeps got good Ybor flavor! Gaspar’s does have a variety on their menu to please anyone. We allenjoyed our time and I will be returning soon!

Argggg. Another pirate themed bar with slow service and tasteless food. Slow service. I ordered guacamole and a Caesar salad. The salad was a huge pile of lettuce served with stale bread. Guacamole was the worst I’ve ever had the displeasure of tasting. No flavor to it at all. Stick to drinking but go elsewhere to eat. Add ½ star for outdoor patio.
