I went with a big group of coworkers and was charged $ 17 for a screwdriver on a Thursday night before 10pm… no thanks

This place is so much fun. If you like Karaōke and you can’t sing, this is the place you want to be and share your non singing talents lol. Really good deals on the drinks for more singing power. The selection of songs was endless. I even had ton of Britney Spears songs to choose from I loved it. Points are taken off for lack of cleanliness but hey this an average ybor bar with decently good service. This place falls under my random fun place to go on a week day when there is no crowds of rowdy people. There was a small amount of patronage so service was great, even had a free drink due a promotion that was being done. Not sure if and when I’ll be back but I will never forget great time I had singing karaōke pumping my audience. I truly felt like a star at the double decker.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Apparently you only get your karaōke songs played on the weekend if you’re tipping at least $ 20 per song, according to the KJ. Also, my roommate paid for her drink and didn’t receive change back. That’s stealing. Never going back.

I have been here several times and never had an issue. Usually it’s a good time. However I came last night with two friends and ordered two beers. Gave my debit card to the female bartender and left it open. Get ready to close out and the manager could not find my card ANYWHERE behind the bar. I informed him that I gave it to the female and she comes over and says«you cashed out already!» No I did not! I told her my name and she left. I checked my bank account and saw my card made its way to a bar down the street and was charged. The manager left and ran down to the other bar to attempt to retrieve my card but the person who the female bartender gave it to already left. He came back and was mad, saying«fuck that guy I was trying to inform him a stolen card was used blah blah blah and he didn’t think it was a big deal» and that was it. One of my friends I was with is a bartender who works at another bar in the area and informed me that this mistake can happen(giving out the wrong card) but normally the staff owns up to it. The female bartender did not apologize at all to me about screwing up and did nothing to fix the problem. I ended up having to cancel my card and file a claim. The point is that if someone screws up, please own up to it and provide some sort of customer service to try to rectify the situation, like a drink on the house– something, anything! The lack of professionalism by the staff is what got me more than the actual mistake. I won’t be back.

The fact I’m giving this place two stars is generous on my part. I’ll start with what I do like. Dive bar atmosphere Bartenders Karaōke Hardly any thug types come in to start fights Now for the bad The bar is ran by the owners daughter. She’s nice enough but I really don’t think she knows how to run a bar. It’s apparent when they’re constantly running out of calls, wells and their domestic beers such as ying ling. From what I’ve seen her micro managing of her employees has not allowed her bartenders to really flourish and master their craft. The prices set are also absurd. A well whiskey and coke is 6 dollars. Really? You’re charging 6 dollars for a well? That bottle is paid for in 3 shots. Your specials are also a rip off half the time. No specials for beer drinkers. The liquor specials require you buy two in order to get another one free. Another issue I have with this place is certain karaōke DJs. Its always happened on Friday and Saturday night. They’ll scoff at what you put in or roll their eyes at you because they don’t agree with the song choice. That’s fine I’ll just not tip you. They’ll put their friends ahead of everyone else and even take large tips to allow someone to sing as much as they want. The back area of this bar would be a fantastic day drinking spot if it wasn’t kept up like crap. The foliage is over running it. It’s never cleaned. The tiki bar looks like crap and there’s always water pooled up somewhere. I also hate how this establishment allows homeless people to walk around asking people for money or asking if they want to buy a rose at 10 dollars. Seriously? They smell. They ruin my vibe. Get them out of there. My last and final complaint with this bar is the bathroom. It reeks of piss and they’re always out of hand soap or towels. Both toilet seats are missing and one of the urinals is broken. Great stuff. I will not be going back.

Awesome staff and just a fun time to be bad. Karaōke, what’s not to like?! Prices are pretty good as well.

It’s a bar. With alcohol. And music. And a DJ. And karaōke. I don’t know, I mean, I can’t get overly excited about a typical bar. It wasn’t a horrible experience. It just wasn’t amazeballs, either. The pool table is nice, but I think it should be away from the big crowd. I can only imagine belligerent dudes getting into a brawl over being accidentally touched with a pool cue. «Yo, bro, you hit me, bro. With the stick. You don’t think I’m a man?» I’m digressing. Double Decker is fine. The«A-OK» Unilocal rating pretty much sums it up.

We wandered in here on our mini pub crawl for a friend’s BDay. They like to go in & watch the karaōke. It was a nice enough place. Wish they would have had more stools & seats. I mean I know you can get more people in a place with out chairs and maybe I’m just getting old, but the karaōke would have been more entertaining if I could chill in a seat to watch the almost famous folks belt out their tunes. So I suppose it’s just my opinion, but that’s what you get here.

A small smokey bar with Karaōke. Usually on weekends there are 1 – 2 bartenders and 30+ people singing along with the drunk on stage so it isn’t very easy to get a drink. Not nearly enough stools since the only attraction is watching drunk people sing and you can only stand and do that for so long until you get tired of being here… So why so many stars? Of the Karaōke bars in the area this one seems to have the best DJ. There is also the option of a beer in «Das Boot». And if your friends drink one too many boots and wont leave the Karaōke behind, they do have a back patio where you can escape the smoke and not have to walk by security at the door again.

Love love love this place for karaōke on Saturday nights. It starts at 8. The dj/karaōke guy is awesome cause he always plays great music between each song, so no matter what songs people are singing, he always keeps the energy up.

I really enjoyed my visit to the Double decker. I went with a group of friends. We got there early before it got too crowded. They had karaōke on Saturday night and in between songs the dj played great dance hits. Our group enjoyed dancing for a few hours. The bar has a great beer selection as well. They also had dart boards in the back of the bar. The bathrooms weren’t disgusting but what you would expect in a bar. It got crowded around midnight but not too much where we couldn’t move. I had a good night and would come back again.

We were doing some post-dinner walking down 7th Ave and passed by Double Decker. I was in the mood for a drink, making fun of karaōke singers and throw some darts. Service was super friendly and attentive, especially considering how packed it was in there that night. The place itself was very well maintained and the crowd was mostly 20’s /30’s. If you’re in Ybor bar hopping, definitely check ‘em out.

Karaōke is fantastic. Staff is fantastic. Prices are too high. And they don’t put enough liquor in their drinks.

Dare I say this was my favorite bar in all of the ones I did on a recent pub crawl? Double Decker was not too crazy and had a fun atmosphere to boot. The DJ was playing some upbeat tunes before the fun — the karaōke — began, which was all sorts of horrible, funny, and awesome. The bar has a different feel than a lot of other spots on Ybor — it doesn’t feel wild, it doesn’t feel stuffy, it doesn’t feel«divey» but is more like a bar you’d just frequent to simply hang out and catch up with friends. And sing karaōke. Because karaōke is hilarious and amazing. I’ll be back the next time I’m in Ybor!

We stopped in while bar hopping for a friend’s birthday. We never left. The karaōke was great, and it didn’t take very long for out name to be called. An upscale dive bar. Drinks were reasonably price.(Especially for the Ybor strip). Service was very attentive for how busy it was. Everything was rather low key. However, we left at 1 am. I can image they have their crazy nights too. No real«special» drinks, but they can make all the classics and offer beer as well. All in all a quality stop and we will be back again!

Good drinks, ok prices, karaōke. If you are for more local feel bars and pleasant company then you should stop in here. Sign your name on a dollar and give it to the bartender and they will put it up in the bar. My wife loves the electric lemonade.

The Double Decker was the first bar of the FSU Pub Crawl from this past weekend we chose to patronize because it wasn’t too cray cray from the madness yet. As I walked in, my memories of Ybor City from twenty plus years ago all came rushing back to me. I used to come to this bar religiously almost every night when it was the Irish Pub. So much so, that I would hang out with some of the bartenders outside of the bar, on their personal time. It hasn’t changed too much except now it is a British Pub and there is karaōke… ok maybe two major changes haha. One thing has remained the same, it is still a good time. From the friendly bartenders to the stiff drinks, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Flacco made us this fabulous drink called the«Skinny Blue Bitch» and it was delicious because it wasn’t too sweet or could you taste the alcohol in it! I don’t generally bar hop in Ybor too much, but I will definitely be back. Great bar and fun times!

I like the atmosphere of this bar, It’s a cool place to hang out and the staff is very friendly. Great for groups specially if you like karaōke. Prices are reasonable and as a known bar its usually part o the many pub crawls that happened in Ybor.

Why 4 stars? Because, my how you’ve changed. — — — When I lived in Ybor, I would come to Doppel Decker to escape the craziness, and just enjoy a quiet pitcher and a game of darts. I often wondered how Doppel Decker stayed in business, considering there were almost never more than 10 people inside when I would stop by. Welp, last weekend… it was like I was in a new universe. It was incredibly lively, but just under the level of being too crowded to where it was hot and uncomfortable. Some might say… perfect. The karaōke was awesome. In between karaōke’s, the DJ was hilarious and played a great mix of songs from alt rock to hip hop. I believe the owners are german, so they have plenty of good Hefeweizen in the house. Another key to my heart. If I still lived in Ybor, this would be my favorite bar. Another stop or two in here, and I might be upgrading to 5 soon. It’s nearly a full-on love affair.

This is a great place to go if you’re looking for a low-key place in Ybor to just hang out and people watch. Be ready to experience a vast array of karaoker’s if you go on a Friday night, which could be a good or bad thing depending on the talent. It takes a while for bartenders to notice you at the bar and also for the lone server to make their way around the entire establishment to take drink orders. One last warning for all the non-smokers, be ready to reek of cigarette/cigar smoke once you leave this place.
