Bad Monkey

Absolutely love this place!!! Great atmosphere, great drinks, great prices. They are the only place in Ybor that I have found that can make my favorite shot called «mini beer.» They have a variety of entertainments also for you to play while you drink so you won’t be bored and you sure will keep on drinking.

This is a real bar in Ybor CIty. They allow dogs and smoking. You see all types walk in and sit at the bar and order drinks. The wait staff is excellent and treat you as bad as you need.
Bad Monkey is right in the middle of the 7^th Ave strip. It is perfect for sitting back and watching the crowd walking past. This place is terrific.

I’m not an Ybor City fan any more but I bounced there recently and stumbled upon this joint. It is a nice, and subtle atmosphere. I enjoyed watching some partygoers take a chance at Jenga! You can also engage in a game of darts once you feed the machine .25 or you can mosey your way up stairs and shoot pool. I engaged in both activities which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I stopped by this place upon a recommendation from the girls I met at the previous bar I went to. They had nothing but great things to say and so I thought «why not check it out? I have nothing to lose.» Especially since I was already in the area.
I stopped by around 9:00 pm, and it was pretty steady. It’s a Cigar Bar, but the smoke was bearable (no need for a gas mask). I went up to the bar and was serviced immediately. It felt great not having to wait for a single beer. The choices for their drafts were decent — they had the usual Budlight, Budweiser, Stella, and some other random choices. I also even tried their cigar. By no means am I an expert, but I thought it tasted okay. But it was weird how they branded their own cigar… Is that a thing?
The locals were very friendly and honest. The guy next to me especially was a hoot. And by the end of the night, we most definitely were friends (even though he would never come up to NY), but it’s okay. I forgive him. I truly recommend this place to whoever is in town or even the locals. I had a great time, the vibes were super chill, and I would love to go back if I’m ever in the area again!

I love this bar. Central Ybor location in the heart of the action. Decent selection of beers. Great place to watch sports. I’ve seen large parties really enjoy themselves here without crowding out the smaller groups. Not uncomfortable for a couple of ladies having a few drinks. Clean too!

This has become my «go-​to» bar if I’m going to Ybor. It has a military theme as it is owned by an Army General (I believe) and it’s just a very clean which is the is Ybor with some of the cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever seen in a bar, lol.
The vibe there is very relaxed, the music isn’t ever so loud that you can’t have a conversation with the person next you and sometimes they have live music. There is darts, sometimes the big jenga game and a pool table is a small «upstairs» loft type area.
The bartenders are all great and overall… a really solid bar from top to bottom!

Food gross. Service is slow and they allow smoking. The décor is cool… old military trinkets but it needs to offer more to get me to come back.

Love this place! Best bar in Ybor by far. 100% the cleanest bar in Ybor! Has a Great atmosphere! Everyone is always friendly. Bartenders are all very attentive. They always make sure you have everything you need. Front of the building opens up to 7^th so you never feel closed in. It’s also great for people watching in Ybor.
Perfect place to watch Sunday football too. They have the NFL package to make it even better.

LOVE THIS BAR! Walked in sat at the bar and was immediately asked what I’d like to drink. Kept it simple just ordered a beer and a shot of fireball. As I sipped on my ice cold corona looking around I realized how COOL the place looked inside. There’s military stuff everywhere witch I respect so much. Multiple tv’s and a giant jenga game witch is awesome for you and some friends to have some fun. There’s also a upstairs area with more tv’s and a pool table. The whole front of the bar is open witch delivers a good breeze with the perfect amount of light. They also have a awesome jukebox and a phone charging station witch really helps for us who can’t put our phones down lol.
The staff were very friendly! I had Jenna and Andrew as my bartenders. They were so on point making sure I had what I needed at all times. In the middle of the bar is a section for people to hang out and poor their own beers. I’ve been to lots of bars just something about the combination of nice people good service and amazing décor hit it big with me!
Anyone who served or still in the military will have so much respect for this bar. I have not one bad thing to say about bad monkey. I will never once step foot into ybor without stopping in here for a drink. Great job guys much respect.

I love this place more than life itself. It is my second home, my happy place. Dru, Jami, Josh, Shane, Jenna, Bev and John are all amazing. Everything is amazing. I love you, Bad Monkey.

Right in the heart of Ybor, this place is really cool to stop by and not just have a drink and chat, but have a drink and play games. Giant games. Games we all love like Jenga and Connect 4 have been turned LIFE SIZE.
Their servers were quick, attentive, and laid back. Easy going bunch in here and it was a comfortable place to chill.
We played a game with GIANT JENGA. It was whoever made the jenga fall had to buy the next round. We took a cab home that night.
I recommend stopping by here if you are with a couple friends in Ybor and want to do something more active with your time together.

Excellent bar in Ybor city. The owner and staff are unmatched in Tampa. Cleanest place in Ybor. They did a superb job of hosting a charity event for cancer survivors tonight, thank you for your hospitality.

Another to the point review.
The prices are great. The establishment is clean. Decent music being played. Pool table in great shape. Upstairs lounge area is great. Staff is super nice. Bathrooms are clean!

Very nice refreshing bar in ybor city… Great ambiance and love the military theme! We will be back for sure #badmonkeyybor…great selection of beer and liquor… they had the Tito vodka which is my new favorite and sea dog blueberry my favorite beer!

Very, very cool bar for Sunday afternoon football. Every time I visit, the service is great. They have a full bat and plenty of casual space for sitting and chatting. The music isn’t too loud spp you can still hear people you’re there to hang out with.

A decent enough bar located in the heart of Ybor. The vibe is very odd though, with clashing themes and décor.

This place does not make sense. There is an airplane, female bodies, and sports stuff for decoration. The TVs seem to loop on war footage. And Top 40 plays on the speakers. All very confusing.
It gets so crowded, and loud, you can not even talk to anyone you are there with. And the clientele are pretty rude.
Not a fan. It’s just a plain Bad Bar.

I love this bar! I love that is so wide open with minimal tables so you don’t feel so claustrophobic. The bartenders are very friendly here and even though it was crazy crowded because of the FSU Pub Crawl this past weekend, they were all smiling. I like popping into bar when I am in Ybor City because the staff is fun and efficient. Definitely put this bar on your list to visit for a quick drink!

Deserves 3.5. Happy hour is 2 for 1 wells. Front wall opens wide to the street for plenty of fresh air, and the drinks are reasonably strong. Pretty clean, lots of TVs, and lots of people watching, such as the guy who just fell flat on his a$$ tripping over the happy hour sign. Plus, you get the 10% off with a Unilocal check in, so extra bonus there.
Would have been nice had I seen that before I paid. Oh well. Save for later.
