Been going here off and on for, I don’t know… 17 years? I’ve bought used music equipment, random doodads and comics. Which is pretty much the scope of their offerings. A real gem of Tampa with an owner who seems grumpy but is really quite nice. Very dusty. A little musty. Full of character. Wait, is it a big mobile home? Kinda. Has looked exactly the same for two decades. Don’t bring a purse unless you plan to stick it in a locker. Green Shift once served as my go to guitar string center, when I lived in Seminole Heights. More recently it’s become my back-up comic book store. Back issues are above cover price so tend to look for new issues or back issues that I can find nowhere else. Trades are 20% off cover price tho, so that’s very sweet. Final thoughts: If you are scared to walk in, don’t be.

This us a very cool musical instrument, comic book and vintage collectibles store. They have guitars, drums and some other instruments and gear as well as comic books, figurines, retro TVs, vintage radios, old match box cars and other goodies to check out. It’s a fun and funky indie place. New and used merch. T-shirts. A welcome and true piece of Seminole Heights.

Step back in time in this Seminole Heights hidden gem little shop of comics, instruments-new and used, records, music and collectibles. The owner and his dog Sandy will greet you at the door. Guitar lessons offered on Wednesday nights. Grab a bite to eat at Ella’s and walk right across the street for a wonderfully salty and time warp vibe. Let’s keep this small business, in business!

Awesome store tons of books… don’t sleep on this place… all back issues are at a awesome price… more then fair. But back issues in the far back room can get overwhelming… not much room and terrible access to lower books on floor… just go yall see.

Was on one of those wild goose chases to all the comic stores in town with a friend of mine, looking for something but not sure exactly what. After hitting up a few places in town, the last stop of the day was at Green Shift. I was set up for disappointment when I walked in, thinking it was a music store that might have a few odd comic and pop culture things. I was wrong. A few other reviews mentioned a good selection of back issues. I completely agree. The books were well organized and it was easy to find a few titles that popped in to my head while I was in the store. There was some pop culture stuff there that wasn’t at other stores around(picked up a few things to celebrate Doctor Who’s 50th). The staff was helpful and friendly. I would definitely stop in again when in Tampa.

If I owned a place up on Nebraska I’d have double the signs out front. They boil down to «don’t be an asshole and we’re cool.» One of the owners is a certifiable grump, but I guess he’s entitled to that. The other guy is nice as can be so it evens out. Permanent discounts on back issues, trades, etc. The best place around bar none.

This place is amazing! They have a lot Of super cool music equipment and everything from toys, collectables, comics almost anything you can imagine that’s fun. Eclectic Japanese toys and t-shirts! Some great vinyl too! This place is great! I seriously recommend checking it out. It’s a gem in Seminole heights! If you don’t seem to like the staff maybe you should be a nicer person:) they’re great! Knowledgeable and helpful!

No cranky old men here. They’ve always been more than helpful and very kind. Except for that one day where I skateboarded inside while using my cellphone drinking alcohol at the same time. It probably didn’t help that I had my 7 year old niece rollerblade in right behind me without her parets and asked to use the bathroom. Seriously though, they’ve got great toys and collectibles at reasonable prices and tons of cheap back issues. Love this place.

Great shop with a great owner! I had a comic book subscription here for several years and he gave me an awesomme 35% off. The more you bought the more you saved. Lots of music equipment, etc. I think the first reviewer has a problem with authority. Doesn’t like the word«no». Anyhow, I would highly recommend this place as it is one of a kind.

This place is another one of Tampa’s hidden gems. I would pretty much disregard the last review, because if you know anything about the neighborhood this place is in, and you KNOW Nebraska Ave, then you know why they have the signs. First we’ll start with the fact that if you are a collector of ANYTHING awesome, this place may have it. they have tons of old amps, tons of instruments, and some other doodads and collectibles. They have some really old vinyl, movies, comics, and toys. Lot’s of toys at great prices. The owners were really friendly actually, I had my five year old daughter who has a tendancy to want to pick up everything with me, and they ended up giving her two comics. I highly recommend this place, and hopefully by doing that I’m not blowing up my own spot…

Very cool store that combines two things I am very enthusiastic about. Guitars and Comics. The previous reviewer is correct about the«Anal» nature of the store, or at least the signs on the store’s front door. Otherwise, a great shop with a great selection of comics and graphic novels. They have a decent stock of vintage instruments but not a huge selection of guitars Overall, one of my favorite stores in town..

Weird comic shop /guitar store. They had a big back issue comic selection and what seemed like a good selection of music equipment. I found one of my most sought after comics there for really cheap. The downside was, the guys who run /own this place are cranky old bastards. I should have taken a picture of the front of the store, which was covered in No signs. No Smoking, No Public Bathrooms, No kids under 18 without parents. No Cell Phones. No Eating. No Drinks. No Rollerblades. No Skateboards. Im not exaggerating when I say that there had to be 50+ different signs.
