Heroes Haven is one of those businesses that sets the bar which other shops can’t come close to meeting.
The place has everything from current comics, back issues, as well as collectible issues from every decade. You’ll find collectible action figures, funko pops, and everything is arranged in thid neat, clean and organized store. They have autograph signings, and offer CGC grading for the serious collector. Huge selection of trades and a good selection of kids comics to get that next generation of comic book readers interested.
You can update your comic list, or put in orders online and it’ll be waiting for you.
But despite all of these things making it one of the nicest shops I’ve ever been in, it’s the welcome friendliness of the people like Adam and the staff running the place that make this the coolest comic store in Tampa.
Can’t find an issue? They will hunt it down. If they can’t find one, they’ll offer to order it for you.
Once they know you, They’ll welcome you by name and unfortunately, great customer service is rare these days, but not at Heroes Haven.

One of the finest collections of trade paperbacks that’s I’ve ever seen. Friendly staff. Artwork on the wall makes for great atmosphere. Really enjoyed the shop.

This is probably the best shop I’ve seen since I’ve lived in Tampa. There are a large selection of graphic novels /​trade paperbacks. Lots of interesting action figures if you are a collector. Also there’s, an extensive «kids» comics section for the youngsters. It’s a little of the beaten path, but it not too hard to find.

Great comic shop with very helpful staff. I’ve been in Tampa for years and only in the last 2 did I discover this gem. Heroes Haven is the best place to catch up on your favorite characters or dive into new stories. They carry current comics, classics, statues, collectibles, figures and plenty of trade paperback editions of collected stories. They also have a kids’ section that’s perfect for introducing your sidekick to the world of comics. Their subscription service is free so picking up or dropping titles is a piece of cake. Everyone there is always willing to help and can answer pretty much any question I’ve thrown at them. Their website has plenty of info on events in the area involving local artists and the occasional celebrity too. The best part of coming here is knowing that everyone is just as much of a fan as you. Can’t recommend it enough.

Walking into this place you know that the people here love comics. I’m visiting from Jacksonville and wanted to stop by a local shop to see what was around and I have nothing negative to say.
We were greeted immediately and asked if we needed anything. We weren’t pestered, we got to look at cool stuff and I had a nice time.
Back issue selection was somewhat extensive but for what I like (X-​Men) the pickings were a tad slim. I can’t fault them for it but I enjoyed the vibe in this place and if I were a local I’d totally come back.

I am a 30-​something gal who just got into comics, but hate being a newcomer to anything. As far as anyone is concerned, I’ve always been into whatever sweet things I am into – I am an expert at all the things! I started on a few trades at Barnes and Noble because no one can judge me there. Then a helpful employee suggested we (not the royal) check out Heroes Haven. I was like, yeah I totally know about that place obv bcs I am an expert at comic book reading. But in my heart was a yearning blanketed in fear of rejection. If I go to the place of experts… They will know my truth of having no idea what any of the comic things mean. And then they will hate me. And I will care. Anyway, my first experience was nothing like any of my previous comic store experiences where I wander around a dark and dusty room filled with long boxes and unoccupied role playing tables, hoping to understand only to feel judged and lonely. It’s clean, bright, absent of D&D, well organized and filled to brim with the most helpful people ever. Immediately we were greeted, given the tour of the store… where new issues reside, new trades, what a sub box is, etc. And were essentially indoctrinated into comic culture. We ended up spending a weird amount of money on day 1. I’ve gone to this store once or twice a week for the last 4 months, not only for the comics but because the customer service is crazy. We are greeted by name and often handed whatever is in our subscription box while we walk around. All questions answered, all things special ordered as needed. All the things, man. Best customer experience of anywhere I frequent. Great prices, too. Damn dude, I love Heroes Haven.

Heroes Haven Comic Books, is in a small strip center on Gunn Highwat, on the North West side of Mullins Road. I was on a mission for a unique gift. I was not expecting this shop to be what it was.
This is a big, clean, well organized comic book store. The staff & professional and very helpful. I was looking for 1 of 2 specific collectable rare comic books. Luckily for me they had 1 of the 2 I was looking for. The shop appeared to have quite an offering of all things comic
books. I lucked out in getting a great store on my first time out!
What’s a girl to do? Ya need a special gift, you need a special store.

I went on Black Friday so I got my money worth. But I did browse the normal prices and they where decent. Looks great organized… top tier store like coliseum… just because they have the nice ambience… Cgc rated books everywhere… this isn’t ur mom and pops store. These guys are pros it’s on the other side of town. But worth going to.

Quick Summary: Woah this is one of the biggest and best organized comic stores I’ve ever been to. This isn’t your run of the mill shop for gawking preteens, this is a shop for collectors. They’ve got a wide ranging selection and the staff are very eager to help you find what you’re looking for.
My last forays into a comic shop in the last few decades have left me awash in confusion and eyes spinning with colors. There are so many comics out there you really don’t have an idea where to begin. So you can imagine how elated I felt to come in here and see that everything is lined neatly in rows and on top of that every issue is neatly placed into it’s own board backed bag… I immediately knew this is a place I could do business with.
I came in searching for the latest ‘Serenity’ comic and only found part of what I was looking for but the guys in the store set out on a search to help me find some the first issues that were released. Sadly they didn’t have any but they were quick to put in an order to get some more.
After seeing how everything was neatly organized, I dared ventured further and sought out some of the comics I used to read in my younger days and rediscovered the Dark Horse Star Wars comics… needless to say I left with a few more items than I had intended, but that’s ok cause I set up a couple of subscriptions with them and will be coming back :)

Heroes’ Haven Comics gave me the opportunity to channel my inner geek and re-​live some fun memories from my childhood. This comic book store sits along Gunn Highway in Carrollwood, just north of Mullis City Way and before you get to Casey Road. You’ll see a Sub Shack deli from the road, and Heroes’ Haven sits directly behind it in the small L-​shaped strip mall. I found this place by accident when searching for the nearby Break Room pool hall, and planned a return visit to check out their collection of comic books.
When I was much younger, my neighbor and I would spend part of our weekends reading comic books and visiting local garage sales in search of the latest versions of the tales our favorite comic book heroes. We never got into the whole collecting and hoarding thing, but just enjoyed reading the stories and following along with the antics of Superman, Batman, the Silver Surfer, Ironman, and so on.
So imagine my delight when I found this awesome comic book store around the corner from where I live! The first thing you see walking in the door is this life-​sized Silver Surfer cut-​out, and from there you’ll see the bins, the shelves, and the racks filled with thousands of neatly-​organized graphic novels and cellophane-​wrapped collectible versions of all these amazing comic books all the way back from the 60s through today.
Heroes’ Haven has all sorts of collectibles, action figures, games, and the opportunity to buy, sell, or trade your memorabilia for whatever they have in the store. The guy behind the counter said they do a huge on-​line business on eBay, and try their best to match up buyers with hard-​to-​find items. Within the store they have classes in comic book art, autographing parties, and even gatherings of various comic clubs.
This is a serious place for comic collectors, groupies, and people who are looking to remember something fun from years past. I’ll never be a hard-​core comics collector because quite frankly the cost of some of the comics that I remember from my childhood are about equal to a car payment, so that’s not going to happen. Nonetheless, this is a fantastic store, and if comics are your thing then I highly recommend a visit.

My wife and I stopped by Heroes Haven in Tampa tonight –absolutely AWESOME shop –best we’ve been in. One of the owners, Adam was friendly and helpful .and they have a fantastic selection of books and everything that goes along with them. From the full-​size Silver Surfer that greets you when you walk in, to the spotless displays, this is just a GREAT store. Will definitely be back! Thanks, Adam!

Great shop! Clean, organized and huge! Staff is super friendly and helpful. This week’s books and recent releases are organized on an easy to browse shelf. Huge kid’s section (apparently kids still buy comics!). Tons of back issue comics, full-​sets of single issues, trades, collectables (status, etc.), signed art prints, and even some original comic pages! I’m an out-​of-​towner, and definitely glad I stopped by! Also, they have comic creators come in to do signings! I wasn’t able to attend one, but Palmiotti and Corner are coming by in December! Wish I was there!

Background on me:
I buy comics randomly, every few months. I used to collect religiously through the late 80’s to 2000. I live in North East Tampa near USF and use to frequent Merlins books there in the mid 90’s when I first moved to Tampa.
(I used to get weirded out by all the hippies/​metaphysical characters there as a kid lol).
It shut down and for a brief time there was a Demolition comics circa 2008-​09, but that too closed, leaving Green Shift my closest option in addition to a Demolition on Waters.
Heroes Haven is clean, welcoming, and thoroughly dedicated to comics, action figures, and trades. Not to knock other businesses, but I like that it is a pure comic store. The dude behind the counter was helpful about current issues and polite.
The rear half of the store is mostly back issues and the front is new releases with the action figure section as a common border. I like that Marvel is on a separate wall from Indy and Dc, and one wall is for «New Releases». They have a decent selection of T-​shirts, and figures, and some signed prints form comic artists (Clay Mann).
I skimmed some 90’s X-​books just to see their prices and they were fair for the most part.
What I also like is the interior space. Most stores I’ve been to are either shared, or tiny. This store is probably the second biggest I’ve visited. Graham Comics in downtown Chicago was the biggest :)
From Bruce B Downs and Bears, its about 9.5 miles.
Parking is in a strip mall as is Tampa standard operating procedure.
They have subscription services too, but I didn’t try it. I simply bought Superior Spider-​man 15 and X-​men 4 (2013).I’m happy.
Only nitpick is it opens at 12, but I can deal.
