I love Grillsmith. I am sad the one in south Tampa closed but was happy to hear Carrollwood location is still open. They are a little over priced for what they serve but the food and service is always great!

I absolutely love having small get together ’ s with friends in the outdoor space. So comfortable and we’ll covered from the weather. The appetizers are always fabulous and the service is to notch. Keep up the good work!

The service was really good and the food is also good. Prices are reasonable. Good drink specials and appetizers for happy hour. There is a large patio area where you can eat or sit for drinks outside. I’ve been there several times and the food has always been good: ravioli, burger, pork, salads are all good. good bread sticks and a Parmesan stick!

Don’t know why I haven’t been here sooner but it’s a top notch restaurant with reasonable prices. First, I love that I don’t like their bread; that’s a huge relief as I love those carbs usually. Very nice menu with emphasis on their steaks which are first rate and perfectly prepared. Like that you have a large variety of sides to choose from including salad, vegetables or starches. Both the filet and sirloin were perfectly seasoned and prepared MR as ordered. Happy hour all day Wednesday and until 7 during the week. Oh and the deserts are truly amazing. The crème brûlée and banana foster sundae are a reason in itself to go there. Our first visit had the delightful and enthusiastic Kaylee as our server and she made our meal special. The second time we had another server who was really frustrating! Her section got seated all at once but she insisted on sucking up to her 1 table of weekly regulars to the point of inquiring about every detail of their lives and hers before greeting, yet alone serving, her other tables! Felt like chopped liver, and was so spoiled by Kaylee previously, almost walked out. Hope they were real generous to you Debbie, because I sure wasn’t after being ignored throughout our meal. So definitely check out Grillsmith, food is great and ask for Kaylee, she’s a delight!

GrillSmith is good in several ways. The food is good for the price. Don’t go expecting foodie food, or the best ________you’ve ever had, but most people in your party will be pleased with what they order. The servers are very friendly and good. I imagine the private dining option is great for a corporate event, where one party is doing the tab for the whole group. However, for your average birthday event, where people pay their own tabs, I do not recommend this location. First, getting a call back took several weeks and attempts on our part to even start communication. Once we got it all ironed out, we reluctantly accepted the limited menu options for the party, asking three times in writing to order specific appetizer platters(even hand wrote it into the contract!) to help meet the room minimum and ensure our guests had a decent meal for the price they would be paying. We also addressed, via email, the payment being done with individual checks. The night of the party, we had one(fantastic) server for the room of 20+. The room was set up nicely and we were allowed to decorate. Great. After a bit, the server started bringing out some regular sized apps… not what we had ordered at all. I told him we had ordered two platters. He had not been told this. He did bring out one platter a few minutes later, but the second one never appeared(thankfully, we weren’t charged for the missing platter). Entrees came out all at once, so that was nice. Our poor server didn’t even get an assist with that. He did a great job bringing out the cake and everything was running smoothly. About fifteen twenty minutes went by and it was super awkward, it was getting late. People wanted to go. No checks. …it turns out, the server wasnt told about separate checks either, so the poor guy had to spend lots of minutes working that out(when I’m sure he would have had a much easier time had he known beforehand). Overall, our guests were mostly unaware of the issues, and had a nice time. We made sure our server was taken care of, since he did a great job under very trying circumstances, but holy moly, communication is a problem over there. I can’t say I won’t have a party there again, but I CAN say it won’t be in the private room.

We really like the Happy Hour. It used to be better though. They took several food options away, you can’t beat the drink specials. I think the times are from 4 pm-7pm Daily, except on Wednesday, and Sunday’s are all day Happy Hour! Fish Tacos are very tasty and filling. There Voodoo Cheese Fries are really good as long as they are eaten while still Hot. They have a Margherita flat bread pizza that’s good too. Other than Happy Hour deals they do offer some small plate options on appetizers which has been nice when I dine alone. Big selection of items on regular menu. I have tried the salmon a few times with Jasmine Rice, which I really enjoy. The smashed Cauliflower is also a good side. My husband and I enjoy sitting at the bar. There are several female bartenders who are very good. We Love Bar Tender Neil. He always remembers us and what I like to drink. He engages in conversation and always seems to be smiling, even when it’s CRAZY busy. We recommend trying GrillSmith.

Came here for dinner with my family and was pleasantly surprised at how good our food was and how great the service was. Neil(sp?) was our server and he was super attentive, nice, and *bonus!* good with our kids. We had the Thai shrimp for an appetizer and I think I could live off of those alone. I got the Ybor city flat iron steak with smashed cauliflower. I don’t know how many times I may have used the term ‘life changing’ while eating that cauliflower. I chose it as a healthier alternative to potatoes but with as rich as they were, I am convinced there had to have been a hefty amount of cream and butter in those babies. Either way they were amazing. The steak was cooked perfectly and I enjoyed the flavor. I had a Florida mule to drink which was good but not great. The portions even on the children’s menu were huge so be ready to bring home boxes. I definitely recommend this place for anyone… the patio area is a great spot to hang out and inside is nice if the weather isn’t as cooperative.

I ordered the chicken and shrimp pasta. It also had andouille sausage. My wife ordered the ybor flat iron steak. She said it was delicious. My overall experience was great at Grillsmith. No real complaints. I didnt give it a 5 bc it didnt blow me away compared to other places ive been. I will be returning to Grillsmith in the future too. I recommend this place to anyone looking for great food, a calm atmosphere and awesome service!

I have been two times to this location and I have not been disappointed. Had an amazing server each time and the food has been top notch. The first time, my hubby had their«special» which was orange chicken. More than the beer battered chicken with orange glaze, which was tasty, he raved about the rice! Yes, the rice. The rice has two«secret» ingredients, which are garbanzo beans and horseradish seeds. It makes the rice interesting and the dish much more than what it would be had they used plain white rice. While my meal was fabulous(the tenderest filet I’ve ever eaten with out of this world mashed potatoes), I had serious food envy over his dish. I kept sneaking bites off his plate. I am sad this is not a dish that is always available, but I guess that makes it even more special when you happen to catch it on the menu. Last night, My dining companion had the Caprese salad with chicken and it was a very generous portion– full of good quality mozzarella and fresh greens, with lovely little basil leaves. My brother had the pork chop and he raved about how well prepared it was and delicious. We both love the mashed potatoes, which are REAL and yummy. I had the filet again, which was tender and juicy, though next time I will try something new. The bread beforehand contains breadsticks, never my favorite at any restaurant because they are little more than glorified hot dog buns with some herbs brushed on BUT in the breadbasket, they also have these little baked cheese triangles that are like extremely addictive high end cheese-its. Yummm. I cannot put them down! I almost forgot the best part– I started the meal with the Pumpkin Crab Bisque. Sounds weird, but trust me, this is one tasty soup! It is thick and hearty and has toasted almonds and a dollop of sour cream on top. It was my favorite part of the meal. You must try it, as the combination is scintillating. Finally, they were smart about the set up. It has mini rooms that flow well and both times I have been seated towards the back in a cozy booth, away from the noise of the main hall, that accommodates larger parties. I like that they have section tucked away that is comfortable, cozy and with the right acoustics so you can hear your dinner companions speak without having to yell over the crowd. Bravo on good planning! I will be back, again and again and while it is a haul from my home in New Port Richey, the experience is well worth the drive!

This was my 1st time here. It was so good. Great food and service. The manager came over and said hello after we told our server Corey it was our first time here. I had one of the lemonade alcoholic beverages not sure which one but it was great! The food tasted amazing for the price. Will definitely return. Corey was a great server.

Another great one in the books for us. while it was not the best meal I’ve had here in Tampa I will most definitely return. The prices are extremely reasonable and the atmosphere is great. I would like to return to take advantage of the outdoor seating that looked so inviting. My husband ordered the trout which was superior to any seafood dishes we have received lately. I enjoyed the free appetizer we received since we signed up for their free app. overall a very friendly environment with great choices for kids menu items as well.

I very rarely give five star reviews but this place deserves it! Ambiance is on point, the outside being just as beautiful as the inside. Dark wooden theme, medium low lighting, a veranda, music and a few televisions by the bar. The service was phenomenal. Our server was Joshua and even though he was young, you couldn’t tell for a moment. Attentive without hovering, friendly without being fake, and best of all he didn’t give off that«miserable» vibe. You know the one I’m talking about, where you can tell they’d rather be tied to a set of train tracks than serving you. Some people are just born for the industry. The manager was a sweet man too, he cared if we were happy and that never goes unnoticed. The food was a 5⁄5 easy. I had the fish taco appetizer(2 came with it) and it was great! Full rack of ribs with sautéed spinach and jalapeño mac and cheese. I can’t say there was a single thing wrong with any of it. Portion sizes were generous with plenty to bring home. You have found yourselves some repeat customers when we are in Tampa!

We’ve celebrated 2 birthdays here now and both were lovely experiences. The wait staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food comes promptly and is consistently good. The kids meals are actually very high quality. The price is reasonable and they have a great happy hour. There’s nothing unique about the place, but there’s also nothing wrong with it. So, they have a great formula and it’s close to home.

The Grillsmith has a lovely outside seating area and would be great to hang out with friends. On this night my friend and I chose to sit inside. We ordered the Blueberry Moonshine lemonade. It has squeezed Lemons in it and they also add sour mix. That’s just too sour for me and I added water and a packet of Splenda. That moonshine is delish with just regular lemonade. We had those at the Jimmy Buffett concert and they were quite refreshing(they go down easy so be careful. The moonshine is strong!) As for the food. DElish! I had the Lemon feta chicken with artichoke hearts and sun-dried tomatoes. So good! I chose broccoli as my veggie and I really like that they offer smashed cauliflower as a side option. Also very good. My friend had the bourbon salmon salad and really enjoyed it. They also give you a basket filled with bread but I really liked the pita chips baked with cheese so good. Definitely a place to check out for dinner or drinks with friends or other gatherings!

Wow! What a fantastic time we had last night here My husband brought clients here for lunch during the week and wanted to go out to celebrate our family state of the union address Something we do to reflect where we r and how we got here We were seated right away and our waiter Nick came over to let us know it was all day happy hour with $ 5 martini’s I had a dirty stoli and my husband a dirty Bombay — extra olives– came to the table perfectly done Appetizer was filet egg roll served with a horseradish sauce and grated beets– creamy blue cheese and carmelized onions wrapped with beef tips in a crispy egg roll Bring two orders! Nick came by with a bread basket filled with a collection of flatbreads with garlic and garlic sticks For dinner I had the trout piccata, my son had the chicken carbonara and Rob ordered the Ybor city flat iron steak Smashed cauliflower and sautéed veggies for everyone and it was cooked so well Great local place for us that has something for everyone We will be going here so many more times!

Last day of Howl, and I needed a place to eat lunch with the husbeast. Grill Smith was on the way. They didn’t have a lot of people in the parking lot so we weren’t sure they were open, but they were. Entering, we were seated, we placed our orders for our drinks and Apps, and then our mains. The apps was the Spicy Thai Shrimp, which is –always– Delicious. Our mains were the Grill Smith burgers. They were good, and my special order was accommodated, the only thing wrong was the wedge salad we ordered never came to the table until after our bill was paid. We declined it, of course. :)
