Hawkeye Pizza

Been eating here for years, food is excellent.

Quality has fallen greatly. Ordered from them frequently as they used to have great pizza. However, despite the recent decline in quality (this area doesn’t have much in the way of good pizza), I tried to place a to go order this evening. As I was ordering, the line broke up and the order taker started cursing at me because he couldn’t hear my card number. I literally did nothing to instigate this, I even tried to walk outside so he could hear me better. When I called back the manager only pretended to care. Will never order from them again.

We were hungry and too lazy to go out for food so we decided to order delivery from Hawkeye Pizza and this time was a completely different food experience!
I called and placed my order and used a $ 5 off $ 25 order coupon that I found in their menu I got last time. They were able to take my order accurately and let me use a credit card over the phone.
The delivery guy came quickly and was extremely nice. He even had a pleasant conversation with Jason over comics lol
While they were busy chatting I dug into the pizza immediately! We ordered the XL Chicken Parmigiana Pizza, Cheese Calzone, and 2L Mountain Dew. With the coupon, our total was a little over $ 29.
Unlike last time when we ordered a plain XL cheese (too small), the XL pizza this time was HUGE! The box was even too small for this pizza! The sauce and cheese ratio were on point and the chicken parmigana (which if you think about was just adding breaded chicken since pizza already has sauce and cheese) was a nice addition. Large chunks of chicken but I just wish there was more chicken scattered. It tasted more like a regular cheese pizza that you would get surprised with random bites of breaded chicken. This was still so good though!
I LOVE CHEESE and calzones are like giant dough pillows stuffed with cheese awesomeness! Their calzone was also HUGE and filled with a lot of ricotta and mozzarella. I loved every gooey bite of it! It came with a small container of marinara which I didn’t care for (tasted different than the tomatoes they use for their pizza sauce). The topped was generously sprinkled with garlic powder. Only thing I would suggest would be to cook the calzone a little longer as not all the cheese was fully melted (probably because it was so filled!). I don’t know why I haven’t had a calzone in years but I’m glad that I had such a great re-​introduction by Hawkeye!
Overall, I am glad we got Hawkeye Pizza again as we were so happy and satisfied with the food and service. Definitely glad that they deliver and we are within their delivery area for sure!

Definitely not Ny style pizza, and to call it that and put on their window is misleading. Ive had microwave mozzarella sticks that were better. Pepperoni pizza was straight garbage. Fougheddaboutit ! So disappointed… Only gave 1 star so I could post this.

I did not have high expectations considering it is attached to a gas station, but this place is great! We have eaten there 6 times including delivery. Their giant pizza is impressive and great for parties!
They also have a full menu of pastas and Italian dishes including seafood. Great pizza!

Best local pizza (Cross Creek Area) and very reasonably priced. Portions are fair and delivery is quick!

This is a small location on cross creek in new Tampa. The place is conveniently located next to the Mobil gas station in the small shopping mall.
There are a few tables and booths to dine and there menu is fairly large.
I have always had pizza from this location and nothing else but I am always satisfied with my service and product.
Daily specials are offered for lunch and i think there are a few coupons circulating some where.
The chicken Mediterranean pizza is wonderful. Plain cheese pizza is great to. The crust is crispy with a soft inside. It’s stone baked and so yummy good. Sauce is satisfying not to tomatoey with just the right amount of spice. The order time is not long and all pies are made fresh to order. I can’t say enough about this place so far. It’s the too go stop for a great New York style pizza.

Ordered last night and I have to say I am embarrassed that I had to serve it to my friends. The crust on the veggie pizza was totally burnt, besides that there was no sauce. I have eaten at most of the pizza places in New Tampa never have I had such bad pizza. Seriously how can you mess cheese and bread?

First off I would love to know who in the right mind would give Hawkeyes pizza a good review!!! This has got to be THE MOST disgusting pizza I have ever had in my life!!! NY style??? Yeah right!!! Best in Tampa??? Give me a break!!! Do yourself a favor and skip this place. You’re better off spreading some tomato sauce on a slice of wonder bread with some cheese!

Called. Ordered a pizza. Was told 20 min. They called me back to confirm the order. Arrive 26 min later to pick it up. It’s not even In the oven yet. The three people who work here are all watching game show network. Not another person in the building. Last time I come here.

Best Pizza in New Tampa and the chicken wings are pretty good too all with a FAIR price that’s important too. Actually we may go pick a pizza up from there tonight… yum

I’m from NJ, and I was so happy with the thought that I would be getting some good olé pizzeria food from around the way. I go back home to the NY/​NJ area 3 – 4 times a year, and I know how the food tastes. I was so very disappointed! The food was flavorless. It wasn’t even a nasty taste, just a whole bunch of nothing. The pizza seemed like it was dead. No melty cheese, just a sheet of plastic with pepperoni on top. It was huge, but such a waste of time and effort they took to make it, and money I paid for it. Whomever is making the food needs to go back home and get a refresh on how New York pizzeria food tastes. This misses the mark by leaps and bounds.

Pizza was average. The crust was great, but the overall flavor just wasn’t there. The sausage wasn’t spread iniformly and also lacked the spicy taste you would normally have.
Service was great, from the ordering to the delivery. The gentleman asked how it was as we exited.
A big complaint is they offer no tap water. They force you to purchase their bottled water.
There are a lot of pizza places to choose from, so find it difficult to see us going back with these major issues.

Very good NY style pizza and good prices as well. The manager provides good cx service and is very helpful!

I haven’t lived in Manhattan since 2004 and I’m new to the area. The xl cheese pizza just took me way back. Great taste, prompt service, reasonable price, good customer service. Will definitely order from here again!

BEST PIZZA in the whole NEW TAMPA area! I am in love with their bacon pizza! I wish they were closer to Wesley Chapel! Their staff is always very attentive and even know me, the hubby and our baby by name!

Delicious meatball sub. One of the best I’ve had in Tampa and I’m picky.

Authentic NY pizza! Great wings. My mom loves the Philly steak special with onions, mushroom, PROVOLONE, lettuce, and tomato.

Just ordered and was amazed! X-​Large was huge, quite expensive, but exactly what I wanted: not too much salt, not typical greasy wreck, very well balanced, reminded
me New Jersey style pizza. Good job, I would recommend to anyone who tired of fatty/​salty/​make-​me-​lazy-​and-​fat stuff!!!

This place was in walking distance of my house when I lived in Tampa. Every time I would stop in, the guy that works there would crack jokes about Sarah Palin and dancing with the stars people while I waiting for my pizza… the 10 minute memories we formed will last forever.
Every visit involved me ordering the same gigantor slice of pepperoni and some garlic knots, which was only an awesome 5 bucks. The slice of pizza was huge — if by foldable you mean into an origami swan, then yes. It wasn’t the best pizza I’ve ever had but it was definitely tasty. The garlic knots came in a batch of 3 per order and they are big, buttery, and bready but they could definitely be more garlicy — I like to repel vampires after my dinner and these just wont do it.
All in all, if you live near by, hit em up. If not, order papa johns.
