I paid over $ 200 for a floor lamp for my vacation property. I used the place maybe 2 weeks every year. The lamp is 3 years old = total of maybe 6wks use. No longer works. Customer service is not knowledgable; said she«didn’t know much about electricity» and told me that the reason the lamp failed is because I did not unplug the lamp in my absence and it likely got a power surge. But the lamp is on a GFI and that would negate that theory. It should be noted that no where in the instructions does it indicate that you should unplug the lamp during extended periods of inactivity. So now I am throwing good money after bad and hoping the ballast part works. BTW, I had to sign a waiver of liability, even though I am having an electrician do the work. This lamp is a piece of junk

When I give a 4-stars for a consumer product, listen up lol. This has got to be one of my best purchases outside of my murses, shoes or tech toys ;) The obvious: their light technology very comfortable on the eyes. Not too bright yet bright enough if you need to work as there is 3 settings for their OttLite lamp from Costco — that’s the American version as the one for Canadian Costcos suck. The latter only carry solid black as well as the next point: The US version has a base that claims to have 256 different colours that is custom to whatever one’s mood is like. Real handy late at nite when staggering to the frig for late nite snacks or the loo. Easy on the eyes in these situations. Lastly, live the light taps to adjust lighting and the iPod-like circular motion to control different colours!

The worst customer service I’ve had in my life. After calling to inquire about a 5 year old lamp I had purchased, I was informed the ballast was probably bad and that they no longer made them for that lamp. I was offered a «new» lamp for $ 44.95. When I said no thanks, the rep immediately dropped the price to $ 24.95. I agreed and paid with a credit card. When I got the lamp it was obvious it was used, beat-up, refurbished, whatever. The base was torn up and old. I called back and it took 3 days for a reply. They said if I would box it up and send it back they would inspect it. I should add I emailed them a picture of the beat up lamp. The would not budge and insisted I send it back before they’d do anything. I asked to speak to a supervisor and when I did the rep, Vickie, replied«I was just waiting for you to ask that.» What the heck? And of course, no one picked up or called back. Rather than take the time and effort to send it back to «prove» it to them it’s old, I’ll just keep in, and hide the damage. I will say that I’ll never purchase another product from this company, and will advise anyone who will listen to do the same. STAYAWAYFROMOTT!

Outstanding customer service. I purchased two Ottlite 13w WingShade Clip-On Lamps. One was perfect — the second was defective. I called the company customer service, spoke to Louis Orengo, explained my issue and after providing reasonable proof was told that a replacement would be sent out immediately. I can’t ask for more than that.
