The worst publix deli Experience I’ve ever had. They are so slow and they skimp with the veggies. I hate when I don’t pick up my lunch in Brandon before coming to work.

Love my neighborhood Publix! We live in Hampton Terrace and it is literally a few blocks away. Though I consider Publix to be more on the expensive end of local grocery stores, this particular store is full of great people. Chuck the GM is attentive, kind and caring as is his staff. Though it is a small store, they have just about everything that you need. The bakery is right up front and has all the sweet goodness and birthday cakes that Publix is known for. Their produce is always fresh and if they don’t have something they are always willing to try and get it in the store. Parking can be a huge hassle as the foot print is small but all in all a great store!

This Publix is very convenient to my house. I often drive to a Publix that is a little farther away, however, because this location is small and CROWDED. The sandwich line always is very deep and it takes patience to get through the check out lines. One positive is that the deli meat area normally has no line. This is set up much like other Publixes and items are easy to find here. Not my favorite Publix but I will come to this location in a pinch!

90% of my grocery shopping is done at Publix. Unfortunately, there are three other less desirable grocers very close to my house. This means I have to go out of my way for better quality. The inconvenience is more than worth it. This Publix location appears to be very old, or retro if you will, from the outside. However, it is just as good as any other Publix inside. It is a smaller store though, so you may not be able to find as many items as you would at other locations. There is a nice bakery at the front of the store with wonderful cakes displayed in cases. Although we try to keep our grocery list full of healthier foods, that’s secretly my favorite section. Usually when a booth is set up to give out samples, you’ll get ice cream or pasta– something that can be served to the masses. But what does Publix give out? Salmon with a quinoa and kale salad. If that alone doesn’t tell you that Publix is a step above the rest, then I don’t know what will!

This is an old Publix with a small layout and occasionally long lines. That being said, they have a lot going for them. They have a wonderful and consistent staff. I love seeing the same faces when I come, especially Vicki and Alexis, the super nice cashiers. They have a lot of great sales and deals, as Publix usually does. The lines move quickly and happen only at peak hours(5−7pm weekdays). What matters to me, is an organic selection, and the produce is lacking in that department, but they do have enough to sustain me until I’m ready to venture further from the neighborhood for my health foods.

One of the smaller Publix, but it is close to my house, and they carry specific items that the other large grocery store in the area does not, which is why I shop there. It seems to be an older store; clean, but a bit rundown. If you go after dark, be alert to your surroundings. I have had people approach me for money in the parking lot. The parking lot is a bit odd — it’s uphill, and doesn’t have very many parking spots. Getting in and out of this parking lot during rush hour can be a challenge, as it is located on a busy section of Nebraska Ave. The busiest spot in this store is the sandwich shop — there always seems to be a wait. They have a lot of the same specialty areas the bigger stores do, just proportionately smaller — small selection of ready-to-go items, bakery, deli, seafood, etc. although no sushi area. While I can always find the basics here, sometimes I can’t find specific items I’m looking for — case in point — they carry Quaker Oatmeal, but not the type/flavor of Quaker Oatmeal I was looking for. Checkout is hit or miss, depending if you get someone who knows what they are doing. However, cashiers, and any worker I happen to pass in the store, are always very friendly.

This Publix is surprisingly clean for being on Nebraska Ave. Staff is very friendly here. This store gets busy, park a little far from the door to avoid pedestrian and automobile traffic.

Ugh. I am probably the biggest brand advocate for Publix in the entire city of Tampa, but I just have no love for this location. Publixes usually make me want to linger. It’s my happy place. But, I can’t wait to get out of this location as soon as I get to the parking lot. Parking here is a mess. There are way too few spots. This is also the smallest Publix I have ever been inside. And I have seen similar smaller layouts work(the Publix on Dale Mabry and Linebaugh comes to mind). It is just way too cramped in here and the aisles are narrow. My biggest complaint is there are never enough registers open. You can forget quickly running in here unless you’re going at very weird hours. There is always a line at every register at least 3 people deep. As one would expect in Seminole Heights, it’s a little dodgy here. There’s always a security guard outside. I recently saw police cruisers apprehend a shirtless suspect in the parking lot, too. I hate to say it but if a competitor opened a store close to this location, I would probably choose it over Publix. Even though I live right near here, I usually go to the much better location on Hillsborough and Habana.
